HOW DESTINY BECAME A LOST CAUSE

First and foremost, do not comment without reading everything! Before I start this rant/discussion. Be aware, I have played destiny since release. I have grinded raids and loved playing PvP since it came out. Granted there have been times where I hated playing, but always came back because there is something about destiny that scratches my itch. I still play and although I do not agree with how the game is now, I do not think it is a bad thing either. There are just things that need worked out. Now, I think we can all agree that everyone has their own way they like to play a game. Just because someone plays in a way that you do not "approve of" does not make them a peice of garbage and every weapon/ability they use needs nurfed. Imagine if you were a soldier in any war, even fictional. Would you go back to your Sargent and tell them to call a time out so that the other "team" could get rid of one of their best men/women because they keep killing your "team" since they are playing to their strengths and you do not know how to handle the situation? I didn't think so. Now without further a due. Has anyone ever played any other FPS? I would like you to name one where there is not one sniper that can be used at medium to long range, and occasionally at short range if your lucky or skilled. Yes I like to snipe, no I am not a camper. Yes there are plenty of ppl that do camp with snipers, BUT... U want snipers to only be used at long range, and that's wat campers do is use snipers at long range. Then you complain about ppl camping. So I guess we should get rid of snipers all together so we can satisfy those that don't like them. Now wat about the people that like snipers? They are forced to use a sidearm, shotty, or fusion. But wait shottys are too OP? No matador was OP. Reason being is not because it can kill someone at close to short ranges (just like a real life shotty, they shoot pretty far) the problem with matador is that it has so many shots in the chamber and its ridiculous rate of fire along with its perks. Fellwinters was even a more balanced shotty because there were times when I was using it and when I went to pull the trigger again it wouldn't shoot because it took so long to fire the second shot. Now matadors have full auto... Why?! So if the matador fired slower, other shotguns would be more viable since there are so many different ways to play the game, if you out maneuver your opponent that is using a matador, you can kill them before they get off that second shot. But we can't have long range shottys because people complain about them too. So bungie basically "got rid of shottys" all together. Now people complain that they are not usable. So wat do we have now, fusion rifles. A gun that was almost never complained about, why because the charge time is so long for the long range fusions, and the fast charging ones are so close range that they are basically worthless if going against a shotty. But now that everyone either hates shottys or snipers, we can't have fusions either. So wats left... Sidearms and the only reason being is not because they are used for "reserve when our primaries are empty" (which some people may use them as, but more times than not they are used as primaries), because they are the only special weapon that has ammo at all times unless you use it all before you die, but wait... Special ammo spawns every minute. So all you have to do is stay alive for a minute or respawn when special spawns and bam! U got multiple clips of sidearm ammo to use as a primary along with what you already had before or after death. Why? Because almost every map in destiny is perfect sidearm range and we don't have any other weapon to compete with them besides primaries which if you ask me, are not as effective against sidearms as they should be at short range since we do not have fusions or shottys anymore and primaries were not buffed enough to fill these rolls. Granted a sidearm should win any dual at close range against a primary with exception to last word! But they are not only close range weapons. This is another problem with sidearms in the current meta. Yes I know they are patching sidearms, but a special weapon is a special weapon. None should be treated differently. You may say that sidearms have to have ammo because they are used as a backup, what do you think shotguns, snipers, and fusions are supposed to be?? Shotguns are backups for when your in close range engagements with a long range weapon. Snipers are used as a backup when you have a close range primary, and fusions are also backups for long ranged weapons. Now if you lose ammo for all but one "special" weapon how is it then classified as "special" since it is now in its own category? I'm not saying sidearm are OP. There's just not enough ways to combat them effectively without using a sidearm yourself. Don't tell me I need to learn how to use a primary. I've been playing this game since release, as mentioned, and I am basically strictly a PvP player since the taken King normal mode raid released. I use plenty of primaries over special weapons. Granted I had used special weapons at times I should have used a primary, but that is all in good fun just seeing if I could pull it off. But I didn't over do it. People complained about last word snipers because the last word was/is "OP" and they hate getting sniped. Now how are these two weapon loadouts any different than a scout/pulse (maybe auto)-rifle with a sidearm? You have one weapon for close to short (somewhat medium) range and one for long range in either loadout, but now last word sniper is no longer a very smart loadout because you more or less limit yourself to close range engagements with the new special changes. And running a last word sidearm is more effective. I'm not saying we need to go back to the previous meta. I think that we need to go back to year one meta and instead of nurfing all the weapons and abilities that were nurfed, (granted some needed it) other weapons/abilities should have been buffed. This was at a time where primaries were heavily used without taking away special ammo. And ALL primaries were viable with exception to dualing TLW, hawkmoon, and thorn (which did feel exotic, but were too readily available). But instead of bungie nurfing things to the ground every time they release an update (every 6-9 moths), we should have gotten buffs. But since nurfing things until they are (most the time), nearly unusable will stop people from complaining about these issues since they are rarely used. Ever since the first nerf, that is pretty much all we have gotten are nurfs because instead of players learning to combat different types of game play (which is what destiny is about). Bungie has to cater to those that whine about how bad they suck as a player because people want everything handed to them. "oh I suck at this game, instead of getting better and learning to play the game to my strengths and guarding my weaknesses, I'll just complain until bungie makes the game more user friendly for me". Another reason weapons in general are so "OP" is because everyone has one of each if they put in the effort to try to get one. The reason... Goes back to the gjallarhorn. Players want easy game play, so they would only invite those with the ghorn to raids. So wat did bungie have to do to allow the less fortunate players to be able to even get into a fire team and enjoy their game, make the ghorn so much more abundant. Thus resulting in its nerf, because everyone had one! So players complained about the nerf. Then these same players complain that PvE is not good enough because they finish it so fast since bungie "dumbed it down" due to these players own actions. Now because bungie sees that they will get complaint after complaint until everyone has the "same" weapon, they make all weapons more abundant. Which I think ruined the game. (And to boot the abundance of these "good weapons," they added the reforge option so people could get exactly what they wanted!) It made raids not worth the time except to achieve max light. But since I had all the weapons I wanted and now light does not matter(for the most part) there is absolutely no reason for me to do anything PvE, because I am not gaining anything from it, and quite frankly that is what made grinding raids, nightfalls, etc fun. At least for me, since I was always working towards finding the weapons I wanted. Granted RNG may not have been the best way to go about it, but that is what we got. If you don't like it, don't play the game. You can't make it somethin that it's not, just because you have it in your head that the game should have been a certain way. If u feel that way, go to college for game design, and make your own game. We are the reason Destiny is a lost cause. Now these are my opinions, don't come in here telling me I'm wrong or that I'm an idiot and don't know what I'm talking about. I want to hear others opinions, not statements. It's a discussion, not an argument.
