Can we have a custom shader in D2?

Let me clear this up before starting. Once you make a custom shader it would be locked in forever. If it's from the end game or from the beginning it would still be locked in forever. After finishing it you can't fudge with it anymore. Other shaders would still matter because no one likes to wear just one shader. That exclusive custom shader may not look good on one set of gear but lovely on another. That's why we have a ton of other shaders because some look better than others on different armor sets. One shader exclusive to your name only. One shader per character that can't be transferred between characters or if Bungie decided to allow it I wouldn't be against it either. I want to, upon creating my guardian for D2, get to also, along side creating my guardian, get 1 shader to customize exclusive to my guardians. After finishing your guardian for D2 you get to move on to a shader creator inventory. Upon entering the shader creator inventory is a highly detailed color wheel. Where you can layer colors on top of each other to create a unique color. For example if you put a dark yellow-orange color over a lighter blue color you get a camo green color. So each shader has three separate rings that apply to different areas on your armor. You would be able to customize each of the three rings on a shader. There are only three rings on a shader. Also, after making your custom colors on each of the three rings of the shader, you would get to choose from a pre-select group of options of different textures. For example, a shiny texture, a matte texture, a worn texture, a metal texture, a cloth texture, etc. You can't use any textures currently in use by the devs. So no cheating shaders! For example, your finished shader could be a combination of colors that look like green camo inspired, but with a metal texture all over your armor when equipped. I would personally make a girly shader. *wink* After creating your custom shader for your guardian it would be locked in forever until you either deleted your character or made a new character. 3 shaders exclusive to 3 of your guardians. Not transferable. What do you think? Would you want to create one shader for your guardian for D2? Another concern is, what would make people want any of the other shaders in the game? Because, some game shaders have effects. For example some shaders glow in the dark like Candlelight and Glohoo shader. Custom shaders would have no effects whatsoever just color combos to mess around with. Also you wouldn't be able to name your shader it would go into a number randomizer. No foul names. Only numbers! Edit: I love when games let YOU choose your own style and not have to be subjected to the tastes of the developers Edit 2: I like this idea too it seems more feasible if it was an endgame reward. Not my idea please see below👇🏼 Idea by, Agent Neeb I think it would work better as an endgame reward for a few reasons: 1. In Destiny you couldn't even equip shaders until you were level 20. 2. It would incentivize challenging game modes later. 3. Starting gear might look good with one color scheme, but your favorite endgame gear (you know, the stuff that you would wear the most) could look very bad with that color scheme you liked so much back then. If it's permanent, then that raises more concerns that this point addresses. EDIT 3: Meanwhile at the wrecked Tower... Guardian1, "Is that your custom shader dude?" Guardian 2, "Yeah! You like it?"...

 • I'd pay for a custom shaders that allowed me to pick a primary, secondary and possibly tertiary colour, what pattern and whether the colours are matte or shiny.
