Special ammo economy

First a little background on myself. I've been playing destiny daily since I started about 2 years ago, I've logged well over a month of gameplay time and most of that time is in the crucible. On to the special ammo economy. First things first I like the direction the economy has gone in, in that it forces people to use primary's, however as always there are issues. With sidearms, icebreaker, and to a lesser extent invective (since Regen is so slow) I havent really felt like we have a primary meta. The overwhelming majority of my close combat duels, are met with sidearms, now I don't think sidearms are op however their quick time to kill decent range and ease of use makes them extremely difficult to counter with out simply using one yourself. I realize that the plan is to reduce their stockpile ability as to curtail their usuage but I don't think that will cut it in all honesty. 2 mags of sidearm ammo in skilled hands can easily equal 4 kills, and most people won't live long enough to actually have to swap to their primary or as I call it the second secondary. If the point of the special ammo changes is to force primary gun play, I think side arms have to get hit like every other special weapon and have no ammo on respawn. The ability to forgo the search for ammo all other secondary weapons have to gives sidearms far too significant an edge, especially for a weapon type that was already very strong before the patch. icebreaker is next on my list. It's quick Regen and high impact make it in my eyes a problem child. Equip a handcanon with with quick-draw and forget the need for precision, or just hide in your spawn and pick off anyone who doesn't have special. I've played games where players used icebreaker like a significantly more effective nlb, (I say this realizing the irony in that most don't use nlb as a primary). I realize it's difficult to address the icebreaker problem, at least until destiny 2, but the RNG basses of acquiring it and it's prevalence in completive play are beyond frustrating (especially in trials). My closing argument really is the change to the special ammo economy hasn't really had the desired effect, simply shifting special weapons around as far as usage. Given the lacluster buffs to primarys which haven't changed much and the many ways around the green crates of special, what really have is a special weapon meta 2.0. I think sidearms shouldnt spawn with ammo same as the rest of thespecial weapons,( and maybe since they kill like last word with non of the skill, should have the same damage drop off) and for the love of God don't put ammo Regen in PvP for destiny 2. Keep that to pve. *I don't think nlb is really the problem, if you actually had to use it as a primary and sidearms didn't always have ammo the skill required for use as is, would keep it in the hands of those who practiced for hours and hours, as it doesn't effectively clean up with body shots, and getting precision shots is a tall task for the unpracticed. though Ive been using it since ttk so perhaps I'm biased *
