Consistency, Bungie. Not RNG.

Destiny seems to have trouble finding that sweet spot between balance and consistency to place its weapons and abilities, it tends to lean on randomness and chance as a sort of band-aid to fix its problems. This newest balace patch is nothing different, while it resolved some problem (temporarily) it also opened the gates to new ones: https://youtu.be/2HgphzJzM70 Shotguns have grown fairly inconsistent after this newest patch and have had one of their greatest strengths taken away, the ability to be evasive. I'd go out on a limb and say that evasiveness is what separates a skilled shotgunner from a less than stellar one, taking away their in air accuracy was honestly a mistake that I think should be reversed. Another way that shotguns are inconsistent is the randomness of the pellet spread. I suggest shotguns have a set pellet spread depending on impact tier. A perk like full auto would only slightly increase this spread pattern, but overall leaving it the same. The differences between each tiers spread pattern doesn't need to be monumental, but at least noticeable. Or all shotguns could be given the exact same spread pattern, whichever works better. On a side note, Snipers. I think snipers could stand a bit of a buff towards their former glory. Preferably their handling and scope zoom. I think that having snipers be at a wide range of Aim assist values is a bit of a mistake. Some of them can even real values of -5. While that's mainly the lowest impact tier, it's adding to the list of reasons why you shouldn't be using those weapons. Lowest body shot damage, lowest aim assist, inability to kill Guardians in their Super. Normalizing the AA of snipers would be in their best interest, in my opinion. Perks such as Hidden Hand would obviously raise these values, along with certain weapon scopes, but the change would be pretty beneficial to the game overall

  • also... excluding the in air accuracy chan. shotguns got buffed.... 20% damage buff and removal of the movement speed nerf?? 20% damage buff means 20% longer OHK range... that's more than you get from crowd control. (almost as much as final round) AND IT'S PERMANENT.

    • Everybody complained about the Ghostbullets on their high skill spam the trigger luck in the chamber Eyaslunas. Ghostbullets on Shotguns seem to be fine. Oh yeah, they are not "Primaries". BTW still waiting for the MoTW of glorious Sidearm kill Montages. Pew, pew, pew.

    • The flyby shotgunners are why I wanted a nerf in the first place. It's wouldn't bother me as much if ammo stays gone on death but both coming back hell no. It limited the viability of almost any style of play besides constant shotgun awareness. Forced me into a constantly defensive playstyle because it was so oppressive.

      • I think sniper needs the opposite they need a nerf in scope time and a sway put in when moving so they stop being that fast and momnaloged the wrong way on you tube they are surrposed to be a marksmanship gun require you to be in the right space with out moving with just enough time to get your shot off in destiny this seems way to quick and way to easy so I think we need to nerf them this actually may make pve harder which is what some of us want cause pve is always claimed as being to easy.

      • normalizing sniper AA would be a mistake, for starters the general trend is max impact- low AA 45 or less high impact(1kys. ldr, longbow) medium AA 45-60 mid impact(defiance of yasmin) higher AA 60-70 low impact(weylorans/bitter edge) insane aa. 70+ lowest impact (20/20 amr7) - garbage in every way. personally I think that higher ROF/lower impact snipers need to have higher AA and faster handling speeds than the higher impact variants. it's a good trade off considering the higher impact snipers can kill supers and dish out ridiculous body shot damage.

        • I like they way crucible is now, if they put a hard limit on special, instead of losing it on death, I could get behind these buffs.

        • Even though I hate shotguns, I have to say I think the mid air accuracy nerf was a big mistake. Perfectly aimed shots will miss while someone else could potentially aim in the wrong direction and still get all of their pellets to hit. RNG is never a good way to balance how effective a weapon will be.
