Warrior: Part Two

Ok, so finally, the second part of Warrior is here. "But OverLord!" you may say. "What about Of Eliksni And Ether? The last chapter was so unsatisfactory!". Well, that was because it was late and I needed to go, so I submitted it before it was actually done. So here it is, Part Two of Halberd's journey, as well as some familiar faces from this sub-forum that you have seen before. Halberd transmatted into the tower plaza, with her ship autopiloting over to the hangar to be checked on. She wanted to check up on Cayde, to see if he had any assignments for her, but wanted to see Rahool first. "Lyra" she said, pulling out her ghost, "Could you tell Cayde that I'll be there soon? I need to check up with Rahool on something." Her ghost buzzed pleasently. "Sure, Lyra. I'll ask him if he has any assignments for you too." Hal walked over to Master Rahool, and as he saw her, his blue face lit up. He was rather fond of the hunter, with her adventuring always bringing him interesting pieces of technology and gear, and her unique personality that seemed quiet yet extroverted, positive but soft-spoken. She hefted a purple legendary engram, softly glowing a pleasant shade of magenta. "See if you can decrypt this one Rahool." she handed it to him. "I think it's a weapon, but I'm not sure. Just a hunch." As he worked on the engram behind his desk, Hal talked briefly to Lyra to ask for something and, within moments, a large cubic object transmatted into her hands. Rahool let out a short "Aha" and presented a long, slightly chunky object to the hunter. "You got pretty lucky on this one, Hal! It's an automatic rifle - long barrel, long range scope, and suppressor. You can talk to the gunsmith to find out more. Excellent weapon in the right hands." he said. She handled it and, indeed, from her limited experience in the field, this weapon looked to be a good one. "Thanks, Rahool. Now, I found something that might be of interest to you. It looks like one of those old computers - I found it in the old Clovis Bray center on Mars. Could contain some useful information." Rahool's interest grew. "Indeed, it could. In fact, we could find some more information about the old "SIVA prototypes there! Well done, Halberd." the hunter shrugged. "It's nothing, really. Just an old computer." she walked away and waved goodbye. The cryptarch said fairwell - "Always an interesting conversation, Halberd. See you around." She found cayde fretting over his map, as usual. A scrawny - looking Titan stood behind him, one of the smallest she had ever seen. Cayde noticed her, and turned to greet her. "Ah, Hal. Have someone I'd like you to meet. This here's William. He's gonna be apart of your fireteam for a little bit in order to investigate a devastating attack on the house of kings. Two Barons down, Shiro said. He would know, after all, student of mine. Assassinated so many... anyways, where was I? Oh right. You and William here need to go down and investigate this attack." Hal was confused. "Isn't an attack on the house of kings a good thing?" she said. William interjected "Well, it wasn't done by us. The vanguard-" and here he gestured with his head to Zavala "-is worried about who or what could attack a fallen house with such strength. Lord Titan slew two barons a few years back but none since. He doesn't have anything to add - doesn't seem concerned, really. We need to go down and find out." Cayde had something else to say. "This is your 'partner' assignment like this, isn't it Hal? If so, William can show you some tips. Now, hurry along. The house of kings aren't going to investigate themselves, I fear." The two of them walked out of the vanguard hall and past Shaxx, who nodded to Hal as she passed by. She turned to the defender and said quietly: "Why is Cayde so unconcerned? Seems like with two barons dead he should be." William shrugged. "Beats me. I heard him mutter something about 'Shiro being up to his tricks.' Whatever that means, he must think that Shiro did this. Anything you'd like to know before we go? Preferences, nicknames?" Halberd thought. "Well, I haven't formally introduced myself. She stuck out her hand. "Halberd-2. Bladedancer hunter. Most people just call me Hal." William took the hand and shook it. "Hal huh? Well, my name is William. Defender Titan. You can can call me William." Rush and Lyra transmatted their respective guardians into their ships. "Any other details I should know about this mission, William? Important information?" He thought for a second about the dreams/nightmares he was having, and decided not to. Why would she, of all people, be concerned about some random visions? He said "Nah. Lets get going." they dropped out of their constant speed and zoomed down to the dead zone below. Well, that was part two. Yes, William from Legends Untold is here, and yes, Fox did give me permission to use him. Hopefully you guys enjoy crossovers like this, and leave feedback in the comments! OverLord, out.
