Edit 2: The solution to not nerf no land would be to bring back year 1 primary damage value.

Thank you for demonstrating you have no idea what makes good balance.

Primaries performed efficiently, secondaries performed efficiently. Heavies performed efficiently. At the point of HoW, the only changes that were needed to make this game fun and balanced were: -AR's buffed -Slight tweaks to scouts, Mayne extra weapon handling and more base flinch for all archetypes -Removal of shotpackage -Removal of final round and LiTC on snipers -Fusion rifle buff That's it. Everything would've been usable. You call the situation we're in now, balanced ? You call the route bungie is taking is promoting balance in this game ? That's hilarious. PR's and hc's are still top performing. Sidearms just took the position of matador, even with the up coming changes, sidearms will still remain the most used secondary. I think you need to look in the mirror and tell yourself YOU don't know what proper balance is.

Agreed with you 100% that this guy doesn't know balance.

Thank you.

Thorn and TLW still would have dominated. Using Grasp-archetype over Messenger would have been stupid. Low-impacts hotties would still have no place, etc etc. Removing all of the immediate pain points doesn't make a game balanced. People finally stopped complaining about Skips, now they're complaining about Fusions. Same shit would happen with your changes.

Thorn has the artifact to help negate DoT. As well as the things I mention below. TLW has Thorn to counter, high impact PR's could counter, if AR's were buffed properly they could counter, red death, etc, etc. Low impact PR's had absolutely zero problems performing during year 1. I used oversoul edict and praedyths timepiece almost religiously towards the end of HoW. I had no problem engaging Thorn, TLW, or high impact PR's. The shotgun problem you bring up is literally impossible to fix. It is natural for anyone to pick the highest range and the highest impact of shotguns. There is no way to bring low impact shotguns forward without making them tremendously over powered. People would sit there and just spray them as they're running at you. One of the biggest problems with this game's balance is the over ubundance of several archetypes for each weapon type. It creates too many variables. There will always be archetypes more used than other in pve and pvp both. Lower impact/high RoF shotguns work better for pve, the opposite for pvp. This typically goes for just about any other weapon type, some differ but not by much. It complicates things just to make it look like there is a large diversity of weapons to choose from. The current route this game is taking is Halo. If I wanted to play Halo, I would be playing it instead. This game is not meant to be competitive what so ever, and now everything is being forced into an unnatural balance of the game that is NEVER going to exist. Doing what I mention would atleast make things fun and everything would be viable. I'm not asking for a 1:1 balance, because I'm fully aware that will never happen. However, this route is NOT healthy for the game. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand this.
Thorn has the artifact to help negate DoT.
Thorn was overpowered. It did more damage than any other hand cannon, made you weak longer, etc. Claiming that Silimar's is an acceptable fix is asinine. I should not have to forgo one of the six other very useful abilities, or ruin my stat profile, just to turn an OP gun into one that's simply good. Next you'll say "Shotgun warriors aren't an issue because you can just sit at the back of the map and snipe" or some shit.
TLW has Thorn to compete, high impact PR's could compete
Fixed that for you. TLW wasn't used in Thorn/Messenger range, that's what snipers were for. Closer to TLW optimal those classes could give TLW some grief, maybe, but weren't going to come out on top.
if AR's were buffed properly they could counter
Massive conjecture. How do ARs compete with a TLW 2-tap without being massively broken otherwise? Especially considering the burst damage and in-air accuracy of TLW vs the continuous of ARs.
Low impact PR's had absolutely zero problems performing during year 1. I used oversoul edict and praedyths timepiece almost religiously towards the end of HoW. I had no problem engaging Thorn, TLW, or high impact PR's.
With all due respect, you seem to have problems actually showing that in your stats. Considering Messenger-archetype were pretty much strictly better than every other pulse, given the faster TTK and the ability for Hopscotch to be re-rolled, it doesn't make much sense. If they were actually competitive you would have seen at least a few of them.
The shotgun problem you bring up is literally impossible to fix

Everything would've been usable
Pick one and only one.
There will always be archetypes more used than other in pve and pvp both
If this is true (it is), why bitch about anything needing buffs? Just let them perform in PvE instead of PvP and be done with it.
The current route this game is taking is Halo
And Titanfall 2 is more CoD-like than its predecessor, but they're still different games. Destiny taking some bits from Halo does not mean its identity will be destroyed.
This game is not meant to be competitive what so ever, and now everything is being forced into an unnatural balance of the game that is NEVER going to exist.
If MOBAs can balance some hundred-odd heroes, Destiny can achieve an acceptable state of balance.
Doing what I mention would atleast make things fun and everything would be viable.
There's that word again. The hotfix has actually made things for fun for me. Some people, and I know this may be shocking, don't like instakills. I get to use my primary without getting steamrolled by people who main Matador. And, in turn, I get to run a train on people if I ever get special ammo.

Muted. I'm not spanning this conversation over multiple days. Every discussion I've ever tried having with you had turned out to be pure dog shit. No idea why I try. You are supporting the destruction of this game. This game is not set up to be a slow paced fps like Halo. With the recent changes, is exactly where this is headed. I fućking give up with this community. With what I suggested, there would be more diversity. You're happy with what we have now ? Sidearms getting nerfed ? Nlb getting nerfed ? This shit is absolutely fućking depressing. I'm done.
You are supporting the destruction of this game
I'm supporting the game changing to be more fun for me. I couldn't give a damn if less people play because of it.
With what I suggested, there would be more diversity.
You think there would be more diversity. I don't think it would have made a difference.
You're happy with what we have now ?[/quotes] Specials need to be a bit more, well, special, but otherwise yes.
Sidearms getting nerfed ? Nlb getting nerfed ?
Balance is relative, so yes, not that the nerfs will hurt either of them in their intended role.
Muted.
Thanks for admitting you lost the argument.
