What exactly is the story of Destiny?
Just started playing recently and your just kinda thrown into this world with no idea what's happening or why. Not sure if this is the right section to ask this, so pardon my ineptness here.

Well you are resurrected corpse and you are trying to save the Traveller (the big white ball) from the darkness (Vex, Hive etc.) and that is basically it(for the base game anyway). The vanilla Destiny story is pretty bad but if you buy Taken King and the older DLCs that will add some more story. Rise of Iron does have a story but in my opinion it isn't very good.
