Evolution of Perks

I'd like to discuss the skill gap in the crucible and why it's been lowered via perks and compare it to vanilla destiny. Rifled/reinforced barrel: these perks affect shotguns and hand cannons the most. Rifled barrel is specifically broken because reload speed doesn't affect a players ability to get a kill. The range adds a lot of aim assist, thus requiring a less skilled hand to use and lowering the skill gap. Hand laid/braced frame: do these perks need to be explained? The massive stability boost with these perks requires a less skilled hand to use. Vanilla: back in year 1 these perks were not around, which allowed all guns to fit into their own unique categories. Each weapon type had its flaws and that was what made the game so balanced (and fun). The weapon you picked required a specific amount of gun skill (what's that?) to use and made each kill rewarding. Now, any 9 year old can pick up a near max stability pulse rifle and hit headshots with minimal movement of the joystick to compensate for recoil. The point: Don't get carried away with your perk creation. Make each gun have a unique weakness and feel. I hope Bungie implements this in Destiny 2 and doesn't repeat their same mistakes. PS: If you agree with these points, please share. I want as many people as possible to see this.

  • I agree . Highest impact handcannons should not have the same or less range than a mid RoF handcannons for example. They should have allot more range. But less stability to compensate.
