FYI Microsoft Users With Preview Build (Especially Alpha Users)

All, There is currently a known glitch in the coding of the Microsoft XB1 code with regards to those in the preview program specifically the Alpha users (not using the alpha software but those receiving the most unstable versions of the OS) that is NOT allowing certain games to work. One of those games is Destiny. You will not be able to connect from the XBOX Live Servers to the Bungie switching servers which will NOT allow you to play your game. While I appreciate your frustration and anger towards this, I hate to say it but this is part of being in a test program. As a coder, I can tell you being part of this program is great but you will ALWAYS run into issues like this (same as if you ran the Microsoft Windows Preview builds). The repair patch may be several days to a week or so out to re-patch the update and fix it. When you signed up for the program, they warned you that there may be issues with games/apps/etc. while in the program as the test community is who helps work these bugs out. This problem is NOT an easy fix. It will take some time. That means you may be out several games for quite some time until that bug is chased down. Occasionally, you can reboot your console, your router and your modem by allowing them to sit unplugged for >2 minutes; it MIGHT allow you to play for a short time but eventually you will be back to the same situation you are in right now.     • But this is not the case for me ive seen 2 posts on this today including one i made. i am not a xbox insider and i still have been unable to connect to destiny and it is the only game i have this problem with. i did everything uninstalled reinstalled hard rest router internet ect. nothing has worked and ppl just keep trolling my post some real info from bungie would be great. i havent been able to play in almost 7 days.

        Update is out,Just got a 4gb update prompt. never mind it's because I left the preview program, btw leaving doesn't take very long

              • I'm in the alpha ring on 4 consoles didn't even notice this till yesterday. I'm 400 and have just about everything and at least 400+ strange coins so I haven't much to do on Xbox at the moment. Been leveling up my PS4 character. Finally got jade rabbit yesterday! Hope they do fix it soon I'd at least like to get my weekly and packages from reef.

                • Fair play to you, my friend. Though it appears obvious, it needed saying. As part of a test program, it isn't always plain sailing. Yes, they've broken it but they're likely working tirelessly (and if I know Microsoft, probably whilst looking down the barrel of a gun) to get a fix to us as soon as possible. And not a 'patch' which suggests temporary repair but a 'fix' which will mend the problem and likely prevent it or anything similar happening again. And for all those asshats flitting around cursing and threatening lawsuits etc... it didn't say 'flawless' on the box, guys. Mistakes happen, issues arise. The best thing you can do is build yourself a bridge and get over it. So far the Insider Program has been nothing but some occasionally funny looking text and a great way to get the sweet new features first. Now it's risen up and bitten ALL of us in the ass. So get over the issue and get over yourselves. It'll be fixed when it's fixed and not a moment sooner.

                        I can confirm this. I haven't been able to sign Into Destiny since the alpha update. Sucks. It's only happening with Destiny to my knowledge.

                          • Yea its been two days for me now. I was just more worried that something got screwed up with my destiny game. Everything else was working fine (well mostly) but I just couldn't get on to destiny. Glad I finally found an answer, thanks. Gonna wait it out this time, but might get out of the preview program. It's not worth it not being able to play a game.

                              • Thank you for the update. I was searching for an explanation as to what was happening. Now I do not have to wonder anymore. Overall, I'm happy with the Insider (preview) program. As you stated, it's voluntary and is used to help fix errors before they are fully rolled out to everyone. Again, the update is very much appreciated. I'll move along to another game until the issue is fixed. Good luck and happy travels guardians!!

                                  Any idea on which build/ring has the issue? I did have some trouble trying to launch destiny yesterday but it did eventually work. (just checked and im not on that build yet so its all good)
