  • Can't retell the story of Joel and Ellie. Video game stories are each our own, because of the choices and actions we make in the game. Making Joel a static character the viewer has no control over would be bad. Although, a movie about the time Inbetween the prologue and where you meet Ellie would be good.

    • I'm always hopeful a game can transfer to the big screen smoothly. It just hasn't happened in 20 years. Always hopeful though that one day it will

    • Yes and no. The core concept could work but a faithful adaptation would take far too long for a single movie. A lot would have to be cut, or it would have to be a series of films which would break the flow.

    • Definitely, but it'll lose some appeal in the transition. The player develops a bond with Ellie throughout the game, not something that can be easily replicated in cinema. At worst (best?) it will be compared to The Walking Dead with mushroom people instead of zombies.
