This update made this game similar to how Halo was set up. In Halo you hardly ever got a sniper/shotgun/rockets and when those weapons were available there were only one or sometimes two in the map. If you died you lost that weapon.
Same thing with Destiny now except you get to choose what weapon you want to use also special spawns often. I'm guessing most of the kids salty are the kids that rushed with Shotgun the whole game.
Adapt.

Edited by Walroof: 2/21/2017 3:47:12 AMI just think crucible is boring as hell with everyone using sidearms Wow, what diveristy
-
If I wanted to play Halo I'd be playing $#$@ing Halo M8..
-
Bungie halo games wouldn't survive a day now with all of our evolved technology. Stop dwelling on fossils.
-
Most of these kids would get bxr in halo 2 and call us hackers
-
Let's just all agree halo was a much bigger success then destiny. Even though I love destiny halo is just made so damn well
-
ive come back to this thread several times over the past couple days and i feel like i see the same reply every time. probably because nobody realizes that its kinda obvious that...
THIS ISNT HALO
oh well.

Halo was fundamentally an actual competitive game, with ranked playlists & devs who shaped the game in a competitive manner. Destiny is woefully casual with rubber band mechanics, p2p matchmaking, incredibly infrequent updates which are focused on usage stats instead of how things perform when used by skilled players... In halo, gunskill & teamwork was key. In destiny it's more about abilities & perks with some gunskill & teamwork sprinkled in.
-
Thing is the shotgun was still lethal in Halo. They never got the infamous Bungie obliteration...err..."balance". (And no, I didn't run wild with a shottie. I used it as a cq counter. Can't now)
-
This isn't Halo, bud.
-
And that's why Halo is the most successful PvP franchise in the world. It's updated on a regular basis, new content released so much more often, and is more balanced than Destiny could ever be. Plus, Destiny doesn't even make the rounds anymore. The community is so small compared to Halo. When's the last time some major company mentioned Destiny in a podcast or review? (Excluding anything that regularly mentions Destiny)?
-
Exactly, now most specials are being treated for what they really are, power weapons. If you wait ammo for your power weapon you'll have to go pick more up after you die, seems fair to me.
-
I'm what you just called an update whiner, and I played every Halo game made by Bungie. I maintained a positive k/d in each game. Does that count as lasting a day?
-
Camping invisible coward with shotgun? = Hunter.
-
Halo was easier because of the limited power weapons. U could keep track of who had what, take em out and continue tracking weapon and where it was/how was being used. The basics of halo were perfect. In MP nowadays every encounter is like some horrible surprise that's much harder to adjust to. Loved halo when it was still relevant(it's garbage now)
-
This is the best crucible has ever been
-
Can't compare. Halo had balanced, skill based PVP and was actually competitive. Destiny is a PVE focused game by design and PVP is a tacked on, poorly made after thought with no balance and it's not and will never be truly competitive.
-
I agree
-
If these people were playing halo, they'd all be using the same guns. It's called balance. There's no correlation here.
-
I'm sorry, but to all the salty kids: Do you run around just using a shotgun on patrol?
-
No. If I wanted to play Halo, I have an XB1. This isn't Halo.
-
Bungie LEFT to make somethign that isnt halo I dont want another halo
-
Destiny wasn't intended to be Halo. Now we have gotten to the point where we are playing a knock off of Halo.
-
Wrong on so many levels. You must learn to separate the two games. They are different. The only thing in common is Bungie was involved with both. Halo PVP is all about who shoots the other guy 1st. That guy will always win because all of the guns are basically balanced. (Power weapons aside) In Destiny that's not the case. Factor in lag and then you've got another dynamic which affects gameplay. Two totally different games. By trying to make Destiny more like Halo the game has been degraded and become less fun to play.
-
Edited by mac: 2/19/2017 9:52:10 PMWait let me just grab my Icebreaker or NLB/sidearm and play this game in a completely different way than halo ever was played. Your point doesnt make any sense. This game is not halo, not even close.
-
As others have pointed out, this isn't Halo. If Bungie's goal was to make a Halo remake, I'm sure these changes would've been in the game since Launch. Right now, they're changing Crucible into something that just doesn't work for this game, filled with many more abilities and unique weapons than Halo. Your point is literally irrelevant.
-
But this isn't halo....
