Upcoming Health Regen Perk Corrections

There were some unintended changes applied to Health Regen Perks due to a change to Hungering Blade. You can read the [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/45661/7_Destiny-Hotfix---21417]full Patch Notes[/url] here and the further Explanation of what happened [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/222240682]here.[/url] In the last 3 days since the Hotfix we have been listening to the feedback from the community and been working on some corrections . Our current plan is to roll back most of the unintended changes like Ward of Dawn cast, and Embrace the void. You can read the full list of rollbacks below. The other affected Perks are getting different changes that the Sandbox design team believes will be more beneficial to the game rather than simply rolling back to the old settings. Here is Sandbox Designer Josh Hamrick with an explanation of the changes. This change allows those abilities and attacks to still recover large portions of health and buy themselves more time without completely resetting the encounter and negating all cumulative damage that had come before. We have watched and listened all week and this is the current plan moving forward. I’m going to give numbers so that you have all the info, but [b][u]THESE NUMBERS MAY CHANGE:[/u][/b] For each of the elements below we are going to keep the change, but buff the amount of health you get back (+58%) - Hungering Blade - Red Death - Lifesteal - Transfusion (we are also removing the cooldown) - Cauterize (we are also removing the cooldown) For all the rest, we will be reverting the change entirely - Suros Regime - No Backup Plans - Ward of Dawn cast - Apotheosis Veil - Embrace the Void[/quote] We do not have a date that these changes will take place but are currently working on them and conducting tests. It is early in the process, so all of this is subject to change. But as of now, this is the plan. We will give you more details about when you can expect to see these changes in the game as soon as we can.

          • Hey Cozmo, Could we get small patches which are whipped out every month with a few changes to Destiny's big issues at that moment. I think the reason why everyone's freaking out is because they believe they won't see another sandbox update for another 5 months. If we could get one patch which addresses 2 or 3 issues which the community has with the game it would definitely benefit Bungie and the community. The devs wouldn't have to do 20 things only to realise somethings wrong (like the hungering blade bug) and then have the community on their backs about everything. Even if the monthly patches fixed one thing and did it well it would be better then having a patch, not liking the meta, and having to wait a tonne of time to get a better meta. Give the idea a chance and see if the community likes it. P.S i actually love the patch ATM but the bugs sought of made me feel bad for anyone who didn't blade dance. Also give the Truth an extra rocket or give it tripod or grenades and horseshoes so people aren't mad.

            Considering on any given day 60% of players are playing PvE, you should really consider making these changes only affect PvP. Allot of people have given up on PvP in Destiny, do you really want to remove all reasons for them to play?

                          Great! That's been the main issue I've had with this patch. Glad they're getting fixed. Still, it would be nice to have some worthwhile buffs to subclass perks and exotics too. Solar Wind has been useless for so long. I'd like for it to have some sort of functionality other than a faster charge rate. If they can't fix the knock-back effect, they could at least change it to allow Scorch to be launched as a Solar projectile, or deal a Solar AoE attack around you on impact that damages and ignites surrounding enemies. Backstab, a perk that's still somewhat bugged, and unreliable, could be completely redesigned into something a bit fun and useful. Instead of increased damage when striking an opponent from behind, it causes you to teleport behind, or on the opposite side of your opponent. It could be good for a quick escape slightly better than Escape Artist. The Razor's Edge perk could grant Arc Blade the ability to inflict a defense debuff on enemies, giving Bladedancer more utility in PvE. I've been mulling this over for quite some time, and I'm not sure if Defender mains, or any other mains, would really be on board with this, given how over-the-top it might seem, but what if the War Machine perk granted you a small Void shield by holding down the melee button? It would deploy a small shield, similar to the Phalanx shield, on your arm, that you hold in front of you to block frontal attacks. You can move around and block with it, however, you can't sprint or jump while it's active. When the shield takes damage, it consumes some of your melee energy, but that melee energy doesn't replenish until the shield is destroyed or put away. And while using the shield, you can throw your grenades, and pressing the melee button while the shield is active will allow you to shove enemies away and do a bit of damage (if they are within melee range). However, you wont be able to use your weapons. You can swap to your weapon by pressing Triangle/Y, but will not be able to redeploy the shield until your melee is completely recharged. Then there's the pointless exotics like ATS/8 ARACHNID and Astrocyte Verse. ATS/8 ARACHNID could be changed to allow Combustion to chain explosions. Astrocyte Verse could be reverted to the previously planned perk that improves the cooldown and distance of Blink. Maybe it could even grant you the ability to rapidly do a second Blink--and even change direction--while still airborne. Several Exotic weapons need a tune-up as well. Something that puts them in a particular niche. Like Hardlight bullets ricocheting multiple times instead of just once. Each bounce increases the damage of those bullets slightly. Monte Carlo could have a sort of perpetual ability. Along with its current ability, it could have an additional effect where damaging an enemy with Monte Carlo briefly increases your melee damage, and melee kills refill Monte Carlo's magazine, and temporarily increases the weapon's damage. Red Death is in a peculiar position. Its archetype is rather poor in performance currently. Perhaps a change to the Red Death's archetype, a slight increase in its rate of fire, or an additional ability where Red Death's rate of fire increases while critical, or as health gets lower.

                            • Hello there, You say you've listened to the community...you know and I know if your making these changes, this is not true in any way. Red Death was already an underused weapon, and when it finally has a chance to shine with a two burst, you kill its main perk. Lifesteal has been a super fun build to use since the April update (I main warlock), but it's usually doesn't trigger in Pvp unless with a melee. Maybe just make the change to melee, not the full lifesteal. Now, I do love that you've reverted most of the other changes back, mainly the defender bubble. But regaining health has never been OP in Destiny; it usually takes a little time to trigger the health regen, and when it does, the health bar doesn't just immediately go to a full bar. It takes the bar some time. All in all, you did your job, and I applaud you if any Bungie member makes it through this post. It shows you do care. But some changes aren't necessary.
