Upcoming Health Regen Perk Corrections

There were some unintended changes applied to Health Regen Perks due to a change to Hungering Blade. You can read the full Patch Notes here and the further Explanation of what happened here. In the last 3 days since the Hotfix we have been listening to the feedback from the community and been working on some corrections . Our current plan is to roll back most of the unintended changes like Ward of Dawn cast, and Embrace the void. You can read the full list of rollbacks below. The other affected Perks are getting different changes that the Sandbox design team believes will be more beneficial to the game rather than simply rolling back to the old settings. Here is Sandbox Designer Josh Hamrick with an explanation of the changes.
Josh Hamrick: When we talked about Regen earlier in the week I ambiguously talked about what and when we would be making changes because I wasn’t entirely sure. The majority of the change wasn’t intentional, but when I looked at the problem from afar, I could see how it may be beneficial in some ways after hearing feedback from the community following the Sandbox preview stream. For example, some of you had concerns that Hungering Blade was changing while other similar perks, such as Cauterize, were not. This unintended change was going to give us the ability to see what that would look like to make both of those changes. I wanted to make it clear that it was possible that we could find something that we wanted to keep. I didn’t want to say that we’d put it all back, when we might not. Having an enemies ability or attack be able to completely erase any progress you've made and completely reset an encounter feels bad. Also, when 1 hit kill weapons are less dominant those abilities and attacks become more dominant, as they are much harder to stop. This change allows those abilities and attacks to still recover large portions of health and buy themselves more time without completely resetting the encounter and negating all cumulative damage that had come before. We have watched and listened all week and this is the current plan moving forward. I’m going to give numbers so that you have all the info, but THESE NUMBERS MAY CHANGE: For each of the elements below we are going to keep the change, but buff the amount of health you get back (+58%) - Hungering Blade - Red Death - Lifesteal - Transfusion (we are also removing the cooldown) - Cauterize (we are also removing the cooldown) For all the rest, we will be reverting the change entirely - Suros Regime - No Backup Plans - Ward of Dawn cast - Apotheosis Veil - Embrace the Void
We do not have a date that these changes will take place but are currently working on them and conducting tests. It is early in the process, so all of this is subject to change. But as of now, this is the plan. We will give you more details about when you can expect to see these changes in the game as soon as we can.

  • This is like my 2nd post ever. I used to play PvP and got pretty good at it. I've lost a lot of desire to play and especially PvP with all the constant nerfs. Now that special has been nerfed it makes Telesto worthless in PvP or any other special. I can still make kills with MIDA just as easy but this nerf makes people exclusively use primary. What's you angle? It's stupid. Quit messing with the game. It serves no point other than me losing more interest.

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE PVE GAMERS A VOICE BUNGIE? Right now this game has only been focused only on PvP and has been for a long time. If Bungie just wanted to turn this into a competitive game, what's the point on continuing to make PvE? PvE gamers don't have a voice in this game and never have other then the small things just to make certain things easier or certain things easier to acquire like loot drop rates, 3OC, easier access to materials etc... But what about other things like giving Light level a purpose in reaching max light knowing it's capped way before you reach max. Making venders other then Tess having a rotational stock giving them more of a purpose in this entire game. Giving an incetive like y1 had with the purple engrams running Patrol. Blue flamed helmet when completing a Nightfall. Creating more challenges like CE had, running Patrol trying to acquiring the husk that lead you to running the raid trying to acquire the Crux in hope to level up the necrochasm. Creating raids that have a sense of exploration knowing Vog is the (only)content in this entire game that is like that that you can actually explore. Creating raids with more incentive other then light level, and why are the bosses just huge slobs that stand still. Hell! Even Skolas was more of a challenge when it was first released. Expanding the borders on the planets leading up to other possibilities and some of the potential this game has. Creating new events other then the recycled events. Wake up Bungie! Gamers dont want to run 50 differnt court of Oryx... Creating content with...more playable ground that you can actually explore. Y1 had that to an extent when the base game was released, and y2 and on was created to appear to have more playable ground. There are many things this game is lacking on and when PvE gamers asked to be heard about any of it. Why is Bungie silent about it and has been for almost 3 years now? PvP is not this only aspect of this game and it is not right to cater to one aspect of it but it seems to be ok to be silent about the other. PvE gamers want to be heard as much as PvP gamers have been heard or at least an attempt to show they exist. Now everyone knows PvP is easier to create, but it doesn't take having a lot of that content to creat that excitement that gamers had, and y1 is proof of that. Capping y1 Removing primary Elemental Watering down weapons. Removing perks on gear that allowed you to have 2 and use them at the sametime. Nerfing ammo in every aspect of this entire game and Bungie is still almost 3 freaking years later nerfing ammo. Making exotics have less of a value by reversing the role of an exotic that now legendary weapons are becoming your exotic. Most weapons in y1 worked across the entire board. By removing a lot of that and making less content each expansion has majorly decrease the excitement this game had once in PvE. PvE gamers have stuck through a lot of this in hopes of that excitement to come back. I get things still work in PvE but the feeling on just getting by and not having that experience you had like y1 knowing gamers are (visual.) This get me by isn't fun anymore and it's not funny knowing how much time and money Gamers have put into this game. A gamers time should be respected and they shouldn't be controlled on how to play a game they enjoy by being forced to use certain things just to get the best results out of it. Gamers want that variety they once had in y1 when they had the option to use more weapons in every event. Not this being forced to use snipers like Kf that first 7 months. So I suggest Bungie looks into all of this and the gamers that put so much time into this game when creating D2.

I guess you guys toying with gamers going on 3 years now isn't working anymore Bungie. Might want to think about that and PvE for your sake when creating "D2" P.s.
Love the upvotes ;)
• It's always exciting to hear new updates are addressing problems that come up in the new sandbox. Still, I feel quite a few go without mention. Problems I believe, narrows the variety of toys guardians can play around with. Caused by the loss of all special on death or the start of a new round. Sure, you can drink from a cup with a hole in it. But, a cup that is whole just makes sense. And there are not very many cups w/o holes. More or less, It's a huge inconvenience you have a choice in. First off the snipers. I'm going to explain some scenarios involving a guardian named Barrett, and the dilemmas he faces in the update 2.5.0.2. So maybe if some sniper rifles in the secondary slot could be limited to retaining ammo, in proportion to your inventory stat. Also the flinch factor of the No Land Beyond was mentioned. The flinch on secondary sniper rifles isn't their only disadvantage. And the No Land is not the only alternative to special ammo loss. But why change a gun that never had problems before special ammo was made a scarcity? if you want people to be able to use a variety of guns, then reverse what made those guns unusable. it might even be something as simple as ammo crates spawn at the beginning of every round in elim. //Here are some points I'd like mention about the No Land's advantages\\ 1.) primare slot sniper rifle - always have ammo without repercussion - picking up ammo from kills, assists, or crates. - can be paired with sidearms(never losing your ammo) - a great hybrid able to gun down rushers with ease, and pick off scout rifles. 2.) iron sights - broad view when aim down sights - scope-equivalent magnification - THEY'RE IRON SIGHTS? - shot is always centered. - a precision indicator appears as a red dot when you're aimed at a precision shot. - ability to hit a head shot under extreme flinch. - explosive rounds, high caliber rounds, no matter. I would love to snipe without worrying about which crate spawns in next with whichever sniper I choose. Like the LDR that took me months to get that roll on. If shotguns were dominating in kills buff some primaries, and lower the respawn ammo reserves. Losing all special takes out the fun. The fun I had on my friends hunter. A meta that's limited to sidearms and 2 viable snipers is not fun. Moderation is the key to balance. Barrett is an average Guardian of the light. Hunter Gunslinger by choice, a sniper by birth. He's don many a great thing. He's halted the efforts of a time-ruling, inter-dimensional hive mind to mechanize our solar system with a knife flip. Banished an ascendant slug prince doing a moonwalk. Even hit a temperr on a pirate machine god, flipping his switch for good. Yet, his career is far from over. He dreams of challenge far greater than any ascendant slug or pirate god. He dreams of passing the trials of Osiris, to engrave his mark in the hall of legends. Carefully seeking and wisely chosen, assembles a team. Now, it's time for his arsenal. He recently picked up a Y-09 Longbow Synthesis from Lord Shax, falling in love with the way it handles and thinking "It'll be no sweat hitting clips with this!". feared and prepared, he stands ready for the test of his life. The map is first light, perfect for keeping his distance. Him and his team flew in fast ready to take charge. He holds back, his mates pushing cap point. Identifying a hostile watching their cross, he takes breath, scopes in and knocks the cap off that hostile, but was too late. He got both of his mates. Fractions of a second later a round flies by his head. Barrett quickly aims, takes a shot, and slides to cover in the nick of time. Downing a second enemy. Amidst reloading his Y-09 the final hostile appeared. Injured and caught of guard, instinctively Barrett drops the half loaded mag, points his sniper barrel pulls the trigger and pulls out his knife. Before he could take another, his now faceless attacker drops to the ground. Round win Bravo team. Runs and grabs a the closest ammo crate in preparation of round 2. Swoosh! Flash! Bravo team spawns in. Checking his reserves he's astonished to find his custom raku chest plate lacked the ammunition he just placed in it. Frantically Barrett goes to check his longbow for ammo, but before he could pull back the mag release gets shot in the head.

        • Bring the house of wolves weapon era back. Buff all weapons back to their best time to kills they have ever had and the best stats they have ever had. This will bring weapon diversity and more players. Also buff all the classes back up. Enough with the nerfs. Nerfs water down the game bungie stop doing them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😤😡👎

          • Ok let me break it down for you. BUFF primaries. Not some 2% bullshit. Try like 10% and then give autos some extra love with some damn ammo in the mag. Then undo all of the class nerfs. Then bring back special ammo. 2 rounds special every respawn, crates back to pre patch timers. Fixed.

          • Here's an idea: instead of losing all special ammo when you die how about you increase the spawn timers but you get to keep one mag of special on all weapons types if you have ammo for it or if you have less than that you keep what you have.

              • My fix: 1)Get rid of Trials and Elimination modes. 2) All Trials weapons, armor, artifacts and Ghost shells are now permanently light 0 (no typo) and have zero in all stats 3) All Trials Emblems will be wiped from the servers and players (reverting them to the default emblems) 4) Passage Coins are removed from the loot table. Any in the player's inventory and Vault are turned into useless "Ruinous Coins" 5) Brother Vance leaves a note saying "Thank you for ruining the system".

                • I say bungie gives us their timeline of what they are doing like most other companies do for their games. That would be awesome. So we know exactly when we shpild expect stuff. Not just have to sit and wait all the time. Lol. Me? I have been playing other games more then destiny lately. Lol. The break feels good. But the division is a lot more difficult. Lol. So i dont mind the challenge....

                  • The problem here is the player base you guys actually listening to. The streamers and you tubers are the ones who get the opportunity to cry and complain to get the game how they want it to play for them. They are mostly the better players anyway so your catering to them just makes them better. This game really has gone down hill. This last weapon patch was stupid and unnecessary. You guys say on we need to nerd everything involving the hunter class because it's OP but yet your ignoring just how OP the warlock really is for some reason. I see more warlocks than any class these days and that's because the warlock is OP and makes it easier to get kills. Melee still has the longest range and is the most powerful. The storm caller is still the longest running super, the life drain and flame shield are still the only class that has two sub classes with those perks. Titan only has the force barrier, hunter Doesn't have any and is still the weakest melee. Yet you continue to nerf it. The hunter doesn't have any health regeneration perks because you took that away in year 1. You guys are only catering to one side of your player base which is the biggest cry babies of them all, the streamers.
