Hotfix 2.5.0.2 Feedback

There are a lot of threads out there already on the new changes, but I wanted to give a central location to point everyone to when they ask me where they can share their thoughts. Now that you have had a few days to play the new changes we want to hear what you experiences have been playing. What do you like? What do you hate? What do you think is good but could be better? What would you change?

  • From the perspective of a long time PVE player here's my honest opinion on the patch What I like: overall changes to primaries are good, hand cannons became much more satisfying and the limit to range is perfectly reasonable and auto rifles definitely feel much better overall, shotgun damage boost makes them much more preferential over sidearms for close quarters builds and I don't regret the loss of precision damage, What I hate: Truth was already stuck in a tough place having to compete with gjallahorn and the magazine size change is a really big downside especially when the horseshoes and hand grenades perk is available elsewhere. As a warlock who loves blink I was disapointed by the loss of my hud and radar. I've already had to adapt to long weapon ready times and having a jump that's hopeless to platform with at this point it's getting ridiculous. Blade dancer change was surprising, especially seeming the problem it was designed to tackle is far more apparent in sunbreaker titans running cauterise builds. The fact it is heavily bugged and got released anyway deserves to live as a black mark in an otherwise stellar record for QA testing and the fact your response essentially reads 'deal with it' irks me somewhat. I don't understand the penalty for high armour characters. Surely the whole point of that subclass system is to diversify players and tailor the character to an individuals Playstyle. Good but could be better: I don't do crucible much but I like the special ammo change. Though my biggest worry is that the losers of this change are people like me who die a lot, in my opinion this may hand a further advantage to highly skilled crucible players who will dominate lower skilled players through the ability to preserve and control special ammo resources. What would I change: for a start I'd stop using high-end PVP as a benchmark to measure effectiveness of game mechanics. Personally I'd reverse the changes to armour perks and the blade dancer subclasses and tune down the duration on blink causing the hud to disappear. I would also revert the magazine changes on truth and universal remote. Oh and for the love of god please fix the astrocyte verse helmet!
