Long story short. You made HC significantly better with first shot accuracy + AA boost. They were already VERY strong with the HRF pulses being the only primary that could match and now the HC are king no question. Do you think Autos, and scout rifles realistically are competitive against HC? You created a big problem here and it's going to be egg on your face if you take away the first shot accuracy buff but if you don't then throw primary weapon diversity out the window. Unless you do the following. Buff Autos Crit multiplier from 1.3 to 1.5 Buff base damage on all scouts. Resulting in High impact scouts killing with 2 crits 1 body. Mida same but small damage boost. MRF kill oh with 1 crit 3 body . HRF Killing in 2 crits 3 body. Pulse rifles. HRF pulses reduce range 50% reverse all other nerfs that were applied. MRF pulses kills 3 crits, 9 body. High impact pulses give 20% stability increase. Hawksaw archetype remove flinch nerf. Or you can reduce base range on all HC by 50% instead of doing all of the above. Or give 3-5 second cool down on first shot accuracy buff.

If sidearms are to continue spawning with ammo, it should be set to the minimum value. Everyone should lose ammo on death. Airborne accuracy feels better. But why not bump it up a little more? The BD and blink nerf seem to care to the most casual crowd and actively hamper both PvP and PvE. Maybe you guys should take another look at ways to achieve your goals regarding these changes (maybe a longer cooldown on hungering blade, rather than not triggering shield regen).
-
Really the nerf of Truth? Of all weapons Truth? You nerfed a weapon because of Crucibabies crying. Now to store it away in the vault, it's not even good for void burn events now.
-
Ah the old get them to post feedback in one place so it's more easily ignored and makes the forums look happy instead of honest. Classic.

Health regen must return to normal, it breaks multiple classes. And if I was you guys I'd be thinking of a work around for sidearms as the special economy is being bypassed by them. Weapon tuning pretty damn good although you went too far on Truth and Universal Remote. Shotguns are being used less than 2% now, so I think you failed in not nerfing them into the ground. Blink also was a step too far and I will repeat just so it's loud and clear FIX THE HEALTH REGEN, IT'S A FAILED EXPERIMENT.

In my own opinions for what I've seen by playing so far. Positive changes: 1) Notice that Auto Rifle is nicer to use. Example, Aminius-D now get kills. 2) See less shotgun and more primary gun fight. More use of side arm. Negative changes: 1) Lifesteal not great anymore for Voidwalker. 2) Truth's magazine nerfed from 3 to 1. Let's this be fair nerf to ensure that PvE still has some fun to play. The tracking in Truth is something so fun to watch when playing PvE but only one round left is extreme. For example, you bring this to fight in Twin Brothers strike or Omnigul. got shot from all directions, little time to reload one by one. This is the change i hate the most because obviously, the PvP side got what they want and it seems Bungie doesn't care the rest. I unsubscribed all the youtubers who do the Trials streaming for this one reason.

1 ReplyAs someone with over 110 days invested in this game, who used shotgun as their only defense against the quick scopers and pulse rifle try hards, I just got royally f'd over in control. Warlocks punch useless now, hunters rife with knife, can't get close enough, pulse still out gunning hand of judgment with explosive rounds long distance, they did not mention they nerfed the ammo regeneration of invictus as takes an age if at all. Party crasher - 1 now useless. Even running sun breaker you powerless against the hunters. Some of us spent years developing different ways of playing and as someone who plays scout/shotgun, I'm done. Last word and thorn will become the norm as in year one, most people don't like playing hand cannon. I have not tried a strike yet, but if these changes are in pve then say good bye to at least half if not more of your user base. There are better games out already but you had our devotion to a game we enjoyed, not anymore. I'd suggest a quick rollback. I'll check back in a couple of weeks. Lol when wildlands comes out you will be done. Nobody will be ready to invest as much time and effort in Destiny 2, this was a step too far guys. Don't let the squeakers define your direction. I've been playing games since NES, and this is the worst idea I seen since then.

5 RepliesWell since you asked. Hand cannons are irrelevant, sidearms are now overpowered and auto rifles are now the number one thing to use. It's year 1 all over again. The thing that bothers me most is the fact that bladedancer is now the worst subclass in the game from 1 patch! People will try to argue and say i'm crazy but think about it. You lose your HUD when you blink! What game takes away your HUD when you jump? It's not lìke there is an alternative either, warlocks have focused burst which is a perfect substitute to blink but the closest thing to that for the hunter is better control and the only way to make that in any way useful is to run bones of eao which takes up an exotic slot. Just to make matters worse for the Hunter, quick draw has been nerfed meaning once you blink not only will your HUD be disabled for 2 seconds but you weapons won't be ready. Once you pop your bladedancer your health regen is now pathetic but what makes it worse is the fact that the best way to catch opponents who are running away is to blink, but when you do that you lose your HUD so now you could have a titan skating away and get off your radar by the time your HUD comes back. Then you come to trials. Ok the shorter rounds eliminates skorri farming which is great but what about special? You lose it at the start of each round, have to wait 30 seconds then go again. If anything that will encourage skorri's, once people get their supers they'll say "hey lets wait for special with skorri's". Clearly none of this was thought through. Trials is the only thing in this game keeping it alive and now they have effectively ruined it. All people are going to do once that first round ends is switch to a sidearm anyway. I am incredibly disappointed with bungie and the sandbox team after this patch for many reasons, ok i see that clever dragons and matador's were overpowered but now it's auto rifles and sidearms. It isn't balanced at all.

3 RepliesPeople complain and you change stuff. Then people complain and you change stuff again. This has been recurring, annoyingly for most of us, for over two years. How about just make a game and stick to it because obviously not everyone is going to be happy and the changes you constantly make because of cry babies is ruining the game for everyone else. PvE players have had to suffer because of PvP players for far too long. Just have your own minds and make a game one way and leave it alone. If we choose to play it or leave, that is up to us. But seriously, the Truth nerf? That one just makes no sense at all.

Please just make bladedancer better. I get shut down so easy

Edited by blade329: 2/17/2017 5:48:26 PMI like the changes to Hand Cannons, auto rifles, and primaries in general. It feels great breaking out my Hopscotch Pilgrim again. I love Hand Cannons and support any improvements to those weapons. I didn't mind the changes to shotguns. Hate is a strong word. I don't really hate anything you have changed. However, I really don't like the nerfs you made to Bladedancer, Life Steal or the weakening of the Stormcaller melee. I also don't like the ammo reduction to Clever Dragon. There was really no reason to weaken that terrific gun in the first place. I was also a bit annoyed at the changes to Truth. Nobody was complaining about that weapon, so I didn't see the need for it. I think the auto rifle changes are good, but not quite enough. Well, there's always room for improvement. I would like to see the Life Steal/Energy Drain nerf completely undone. While I really like using sidearms, it's probably a good idea to give them the same ammo restrictions as every other special weapon. I would like to see the Shinobu's Vow nerf undone as well, but I just can't stand listening to the crybaby whiners over it, so leave it be.....for the sake of my sanity. I would like to add one more thing to the discussion. First, I would like to say that this patch is okay for the most part. I think players just overreact to everything. Secondly, I would really like it if Bungie would not put so much weight on the opinions of the Trails of Osiris crowd. It's a part time play list for super competitive players in an Elimination format. Their experiences are FAR different than a casual player, like myself, who never plays that mode. I mostly play 6v6 matches. What the Trials crowd wants is often at odds with how I see the game. They shouldn't have a bigger say than players like me. Thanks for reading.
-
I'm pretty disappointed by this. I only play titan and mostly PvE. From what I've been reading my character has been pretty heavily nerfed for me. Im not a super skilled player. Ward of dawn, force barrier and cauterize are the tools I lean on to enjoy playing PvE. I don't get much time to play and probably won't even bother until this is rolled back or fixed. I upgraded to an xbox 1 for xmas cause i loved playing on 360 so much. Guess that was an expensive mistake. : /

You guys need Donald Trump to make Bungie great again. Lol
-
Im happy with the update mostly but do think the sidearm situation needs some attention. Sidearms should also lose ammo upon death or they should have a range reduction.
-
Hate it all. Haven't been a fan of any of the patches that nerf. Go back to year 1 balance when vex dominated and buff everything else to make all weapons balanced. Then make pve events slightly harder to make up for our usable variety of weapons
-
2 RepliesPlease undo the health regen changes. Even if you have to undo them on Hungering Blade as well. If you wanted to nerf JUST HB, maybe use the Cauterize nerf instead (add a cooldown). Defender class is getting trounced due to these changes (particularly in PVE), and that's uncalled for. In fact, all Titans got hit with this change. If you could be more surgical with the change, that might be an option... maybe leave it on Cauterize but remove the other nerfs done to that (the cooldown and regen delay). Maybe leave the nerf on Life Steal as well since it only requires a hit and not a kill. But pretty much EVERYTHING ELSE AFFECTED needs to be returned to the way it was.

Edited by Silverback: 2/17/2017 5:44:52 PMI like all the primarie gun battles...Love seeing guns other than palindrome and clever dragon. It was nice to pull out my hopscotch pilgrim and put in some work with it and it actually feel viable. I dont like how the hungering blade adjustment inadvertantly changed every other health/ sheild gen perk across every class/ gun in the game. It affected those of us who mainly play PvE as well as PvP. I dont like that every single sandbox update affects PvE and PvP. The sandbox updates need to affect the two gamemodes separately. I know this may not be an option for D1. But please for the love of God separate PvE sandboxs from PvP in D2. Hand cannons are better, but by increasing the initial accuracy and increasing damage dropoff you have increased the need for perks rifled barrel in PvE and its a must have in PvP to be competitive. I have two very good hand cannons that are very inconsistant due to the abysmal range. So they sit in my vault. I would increase the base range on the low range hand cannons to at least 40 rather than the stock 20 they come with. I have a stolen pride that is rolled extremely well for the aksis encounter but it is inconsistant due to the max range stat which is limited to 49 even with rifled barrel. The 62 max range stat is gonna give the best result with minimum bloom. I would like to see the faster RoF hand cannons be able to get a little closer to the max range stat instead of maxing out at 49.

Cozmo, just nerf everything, and in theory from tesla and Einstein- everything will be balanced cause they all equally suck. Come on, you listen to nerf posts with ridiculous facts and figures, I think you'll believe me about einstien.
-
2 RepliesAnother thought about special ammo is to have players spawn with full ammo at the beginning of the match, but no special ammo crates spawn during the match. Use your ammo wisely and when you run out, you're done. Also, this would make ammo perks on armor mean something again.
-
When you view all of the hotfix changes through the lens of what Trials streamers want, it all makes perfect sense.

As far as balance it doesn't really matter because it never will be and it shouldn't be balanced. It's been a great game overall. I would say this game and GTA V are the only two I've spent so much time on, and are still relevant for old games. 1. Year one the game was about chasing awesome gear that RNG made it hard to get. G-horn fatebringer suros and others, kept you grinding because you wanted that badass OP weapon. 2. Year two until now has been a downhill nerf on weapons, subclass, elemental burn primaries, even RNG is too easy to get stuff... Now everything is pretty much equally shitty, exotics aren't better than legendary in most cases and no gun or even super for that matter makes you feel powerful. You may might as well just have 3 set guns for each subclass since none of them really perform different since that's what you seem to be pushing for. 3. What made this game interesting and different was the intricacies of how to set up your character with bad ass stuff to counter someone else. When you got destroyed by a bad ass weapon or super you had to figure out how to grind for it if you wanted it, and how to counter it with what you had through different set ups until then. Yes sometimes it pissed you off you didn't have it yet and someone else did but it kept you grinding for something that was worth it. 4. Last item: if you and Activision try this peer to peer B.S. in Destiny 2 that will be the reason I never buy your product again. All the lag and DDOS issues are 100% on you guys right now and with the amount of money you've made off the game not to invest in dedicated servers is a joke.

Edited by On3dge: 2/17/2017 5:17:54 PMCons- -get actual PVP players advice on changes and testing. Watching you guys shoot a last word made me want to kill myself. - you didnt touch skorries? haha. do you guys play trials? -get rid of all special ammo or give a very small reserve to all. seriously wtf. - no land and sidearm will be over used. a primary sniper that has pretty much no flinch. you ruined trials. congrats! - nerf grasp/clever to the ground. why cant you guys nerf correctly. Hi cal sucks and you slowed down the fire rate. ok good job. why take away the ammo as well?!? give ammo back please. its not over powered. - tripmines should be a 1 hit kill or be able to stick. pick one and would make it usable. - no sticky nade nerf to the magnetism? come on bungie! they turn like the truth. BUT you nerf trip mines that actually took skill to stick people. - who the f uses landfall in pvp? why not nerf the super duration when using ionic blink? oh i know the answer. that would have been a good idea. - truth nerf is laughable. how many employees put their heads together for that one? I feel bad for all the pve guys. rip truth. - you guys must really hate blink. lol. way to make it worse. already sucked. - why do you guys hate hunters? pros- i guess you did a few things right. - hand cannons accuracy - shotty nerf - im stuggling to find more pros. one second. -autos are much better but not top tier. - good job on low fire rate pulse. - in air accuracy for all weapons
-
Usual bunch of lies but seriously only 1 in truth now
-
Generally like the changes around primaries. Autos are better, but may still need a just a little more love to make them a bit better. It's good to see more variety of weapon choice. To be determined if that holds true as people figure out what works best. Don't like the special ammo changes. It forces people to move more toward sidearms reducing weapon choice variety. I'd prefer to see those changes reverted back to pre patch. No further nerfs to special ammo or weapons, please. Don't like the inadvertent changes from the Hungering Blade nerf. That should be fixed and reverted back to pre change. You guys really need to look at code management and quality control processes if that one squeezed by unnoticed. Absolutely hate the nerf to Truth. Completely unnecessary in my opinion. That change should be reverted. It's an exotic weapon after all. Basically mirrors most things that everyone else has already said.

What do you like? I like the special ammo change. I've always considered special situational, and the frequency of crate spawns keeps it that way without completely losing them. I also like the health change. I feel like getting chunks of health is actually better for exposure, and when engaging multiple guardians. It's pretty frustrating to kill one Guardian and have little health left, start regenerating my shield, then take a pot shot while getting to cover just to have the Regen stop altogether. All around the weapons feel relatively balanced, and it's nice to have more choices to run with. What do you hate? Sidearms keeping special after death. Sidearms have been my favorite special weapon type since their introduction. I was even glad at first to hear they wouldn't be affected by the new special changes. But now that all I'm seeing in crucible is the Trespasser and other sidearms, I'm starting to wonder if maybe being able to end games with full special might be a slippery slope. Sidearms could still be as viable if they lost ammo in PvP. In my eyes, they're an emergency weapon anyway. And it's not even that I'm getting constantly outgunned by trespasser, but when it's almost the only thing that does kill me, and it's about all I hear around the maps, it starts to become a red flag. What do you like but think could be better? There are numerous exotics that could stand to be a little more viable. First off, unless we just don't understand how to use it, I'd like to see Astrocyte Verse get some attention. It doesn't seem like the perk works the way it reads, if at all. At the same time, there are exotics out there that don't really set them apart from normal gear. For example, Knucklehead radar. It gives third eye on primaries. That's a great perk, but it's completely dwarfed by the memory of Gheleon, or just having third eye on a primary. I know this is a pipe dream, but I don't think giving the helm something like keen scout and third eye would make it too strong, but it would give me incentive to run it. Obviously exotics aren't supposed to be stronger, but maybe they should have a little more utility than most gear. What would you change? Honestly I'd remove bloom on hand cannons, nuke the range, and take off a bit of fire rate. I think that'd keep them in their role without having the annoyance of missed shots even when control firing. Then again I've grown used to them. I'd give blink to one of the Titan subclasses. I know there isn't much lore reason to, but it'd be cool to have that option if you wanted, maybe even if it's just on an exotic. And this is more of a picky thing, but having an option for weapons to not show up on your back when not drawn would be killer. It's purely aesthetic and probably not a concern anyone else shares, but it's easily my biggest wish for the game.
