Please roll back the subclass stuff. Blink, Life steal, Thunder strike, Landfall, Blade dancer nerf, etc. etc. take the damage drop off off of The First Curse because that is kinda stupid. The gun is supposed to have sick range. change the special ammo economy. Make it so you only drop your ammo if you are using your special (all specials, i'm looking at you side arms.) and make it so if you kill someone with your special it will drop ammo. Roll back truth nerf. add an ammo regen to some fusion rifles. bring Mythoclast to year 3.

21 RepliesEdited by Priax: 2/17/2017 3:43:15 AMI love this game, and I recognize, even if I don't understand on a technical level, how difficult it must be to maintain and balance. Please consider my thoughts constructively, and not as a blind rage. Understand that they are written with the best of intentions and only a tone of upset, not anger. What do you like? - Matador and Clever Dragon are not the only guns I'm seeing in Crucible anymore. - Changes to hand cannons are very welcome - Appreciated the buff to PvE shotguns, so as to not totally murder the weapon type What do you hate? First of all, using "hate" is just inviting rage, but hey, your funeral. - You nerfed things nobody thought were problems (blink, hungering blade, Truth) - You are encouraging primary usage only though limiting accessibility to other guns, and not by making primaries themselves better - You nerfed ALL shotguns, while really only Matador 64/Party Crasher +1/Curtain Call archetype were the problem - The changes made to auto rifles are so small so as to be nearly negligible - Your system for widespread balance changes often comes across as "make everything the weakest link(s) in the chain" rather than "fix the weak links." The taste this leaves in my mouth as I experiment with a new patch is, "what can I use that's still viable." For evidence of this, look at sidearms. Everyone is now using sidearms simply because they conserve ammo when other special weapons do not. They received no buffs to their performance other than not being affected by the special ammo changes, so they are the new meta - The special ammo changes. If you want to Make Primaries Great Again, then do that. What we now have is Use Primaries Because You Are Constantly Out of Special Ammo, which just.... isn't fun - Bladedancer nerfs. Ignoring the known hungering blade issue, I honestly can't understand why you guys decided that this was the hunter subclass that needed tweaking - Landfall was not the problem with Stormcaller - You promised us tweaks to "a sample platter of exotics" then slightly buffed the least-used sword, nerfed the exotic rocket launcher that was outgunned by Gjallarhorn anyways, adjusted the two pieces of class armor that, admittedly, everyone was using, and didn't touch ANY of the never-used weapons or gear What do you think is good but could be better? - Special ammo changes. I'm going to list this in nearly every category because I'm torn between seeing what you guys were trying to do, but feeling really disappointed and let down by what you did do. Do I want a primary dominated meta? Honestly I just want a widespread meta, where lots of weapons from both slots are viable to run around with. - More exotic weapon changes. Please. Look at the least-used exotic guns and gear in the game and make changes to them that make them FUN to use - I know that right now people are running around using all kinds of weapons, but that's because we don't know what the meta is yet. However, the one meta-related observation the community has made is that we are in for a VERY stale meta. Sidearms are the only consistent special weapon, and are best in the short to medium ranges. What's better (read: consistent) in the long ranges to complement that (even after the weapon tweaks)? Scout rifles and NLB. What would you change? - Nerf the actual problem with Stormcaller: Ionic blink - Tweak many more exotics to make them more viable - More strongly buff auto rifles so that they fall in line with more viable primaries - Undo the special weapon ammo changes WITH THE CAVEAT that you are creating a meta where many primaries are just as strong as many special weapons. Hand cannons don't have to have the same role as sniper rifles, but I should be able to equip one of each without feeling like I HAVE to stay alive just to be able to take out a far reaching enemy. Please please please don't make this the meta where I run around with either TLW or NLB and a sidearm just to feel like I have consistent options in my engagement ranges while maintaining quick weapons Thank you guys for the incredible work you do on this game. In conclusion, the best advice I can give is to do more forums like this where you are taking advice directly from your community. The best example I have of the kinds of trouble you guys seem to get into is watching you, on the livestream that debuted this patch, show off your graph of crucible kills that indicated shotguns were a problem. While your data was correct, it failed to show that only a few shotguns, all in one particular archetype were the problem, and not shotguns in general. The result of this? Shotguns across the board received nerfs, even the ones that had been under-performing pre-patch.

1 ReplyWhat I like? ...everything. i have played this game since day one. I started on playstation with the official white console. Hated ps and came to xbox....home. You guys are awesome, and tell your boss you guys deserve a raise!!! I appreciate everything. This is actually the only game i continue to stay with. What do i hate? People bitching....let them grow up and become engineers and come up with something better. What is good but could be better? Raids are fun, but every once and a while be able to join a raid like you do with strikes or matches. I understand they have the forums to join, but im afraid i get looked over due to very little experience in the raids. What would I change? Time to bring in the airship PvP!!! Show off those pilot abilities. Or a competion course like the speeders!!

Special ammo is my only complaint about the most recent patch. If you could switch the special ammo in crucible to where if you die you keep special ammo. I have been seeing trespassers everywhere and frankly I disliked going against that gun before know I just hate it switch special ammo back plz

2 RepliesThe TRUE FIX is so close!!! I really really like the idea of a Primary based PvP... That's really how it should be. I think Crucible is the most fun it's ever been right now. I think you guys are really on the right track but I believe the TRUE FIX is very simple... Give us Special back on death But make it so you can only have the Special in the Mag of your weapon Increase Mag capacity by 1-3 across the board and No Reserve At the VERY ABSOLUTE most give everyone a Mag and either a half Mag or Full Mag in reserve but that is it and put the timing on Special back to pre-patch timing Then you would be leaving Special Ammo in a place where people should be using it for specific situations only which is how it should be, instead of AS their Primary which is absolutely shameful... Please by all means do not simply give in and put Special back the way it was... But if you could make this suggested change I feel like everyone could accept it and it would be in the perfect spot...

Don't like the special ammo I think that the low rate of fire auto's should have a base Rof of 80 instead of 77.

I don't like about special ammo !!!

What do you like?
-Hand cannons, generally, are in a great spot. The damage falloff is fair and keeps this weapon type in it's intended range. -Happy that HCR on pulses have been toned down, thanks. -Juggernaut change was well executed.
What do you hate?
-I know that you know, but please fix the health regen bug ASAP! -Add me to the camp that didn't quite understand the Bladedancer changes. Unlike the other roaming supers, Bladedancer has to get up close and personal with their targets, giving them the most risk.
What do you think is good but could be better?
-Special ammo economy. It's a step in the right direction. I'm ok with sidearms spawning with ammo after death, but you should not keep stockpiled ammo. I like that reload speed is actually a factor now, especially since most people sacrifice that for top-tier shotguns. But I'm not quite sure how fusion rifles fit into this meta. -Auto rifles still don't feel "strong". They are more viable, but the inherent risk they pose, that the shooter has to remain out of cover to track the target, doesn't seem to be rewarded enough. -Not quite sure I understand the double nerf on the highest ROF pulse rifles. I think the lower magazine size is a good tradeoff for having such a potent weapon, but slowing the ROF down as well was too much. Why would I choose a Clever Dragon or Grasp over Blind perdition/Hawksaw/etc?
What would you change?
-Fix all health regen perks. -Compromise on Hungering Blade- make it like cauterize, where health is regenerated but only once for every few seconds. -Keep the magazine size change to the highest ROF pulse rifles, but return their ROF back to pre-patch level. The low mag size itself gives the player a great risk/reward choice. -Buff autos further until they reward users for being exposed from cover. -Reevaluate perk "exhumed", which is useless on secondary weapons. Grant the perk ability to spawn with ammo. -Ionic blink should use more super energy. -Remove stockpiling of side arm ammo. -Reevaluate more exotics! Astrocyte verse, knucklehead radar, Radiant dance machines are pvp-centric armor that feel detrimental instead of beneficial. -Personal gripe: The Last Word, which is touted as a hipfire weapon, is exclusively fired ADS by most players now. Please give it bonus range when hip firing so we can use as intended! -More personal gripes: spawn camping on Rift is still extremely aggravating. The idea of an overshield on respawn is nice, but it needs to be made stronger or last longer. A spawn camper with special ammo can do some massive damage to the opposing team.

Mixed opinions on things I won't lie. NEGATIVES The major negative was that all the other health perks other than Hungering Blade that were affected, primarily for things like Red Death and SUROS Regime that weren't actually having much effect on the game. I'm guessing this is being looked into to get fixed so not much else to say there. Next, I think that the High Rof Pulses Rifles were hit too hard. The only real problem was High Caliber Rounds on the Clever Dragon. Reduced magazine size was harsh, TtK was also hit too hard as they now pretty much have the same TtK's as High-Mid RoF PR's. I would say, increase RoF SLIGHTLY, bring clip size back up, at least by one burst. Sidearms I feel are slightly too powerful. Conserving ALL the ammo after death is IMO too much, two clips is perfectly fine seeing as you will probably pick up more anyway. This is to stop ammo hoarding and have more options for specials in general. Truth nerf, really unnecessary, it's an Exotic, it's supposed to be very good. Heavy ammo also only spawns once per match so it's not like it was game-breaking and nobody was really complaining. Definitely one that should have just been left alone. Blink as well, just why? It's unpopular to start off with. Nerfing it even more is just unnecessary, especially since it's mostly combined with shotguns which have been nerfed themselves. I think bring it back to how it was before. As a whole as well, it's more Specials that were nerved rather than Primaries being buffed. This could hurt Defender's when using their Ward of Dawns. Most archetypes like the Nirwen's Mercy/ Red Death, or Low-Mid RoF and High RoF Scout Rifles haven't been touched which is a bit annoying seeing as it takes away diversity. But I don't personally have solutions to these problems. Quickdraw perks on the Ophidian Aspects and to Bladedancers were a bit weird, not something I would have changed despite not having the Ophidian Aspects (😭) and that I don't use my Hunter often and haven't even started upgrading my Bladedancer at that XD. Bring it back please because I feel for other Guardians. Why Landfall as well? Didn't really see the sense there, it's rarely used to start with, bring it back please for more diversity in the Crucible. POSITIVES Hand Cannons, great job, nothing more to say about them. Low RoF Auto Rifles, despite a very minor change to their TtK's, having other Primaries more on their level does make it more prevalent. The nerf to Hungering Blade itself was a good one. Thunderstrike... although I've been guilty of using it, I could see that it needed nerfing, so be it, that's a good change. Low RoF PR's are perfect now, more room for error, more reliable, fine. Good nerf to Juggernaut perk, I feel like it's still usable without being overpowered OVERALL Good job Bungie, I am mostly happy about the patch despite the negatives I listed above. The OP things were nerfed to a good level, apart from the changes I suggested on High RoF PR's

In response to the latest update; a day one everyday players opinon. before i begin i know this community well enough to put out a huge disclaimer. I know you will work me into some dank meme or criticize my stats after creeping my profiles . so to save you time 3 characters 1 of each 40 /400 all raids / challenges etc completed . I've never gone flawless and haven't really tried in ToO; but actually might start playing it again after this patch ( explanation enclosed ). I still haven't flawless raidered either but I'm confident with a few runs through crota and some luck I can. regardless and all things aside I'm not the best most OG player ever, however, I'm a damn GOOD player with a sense of humor and a pretty grounded view on this game. I have every exotic and have run nearly every "super load out" combo one can think of. I love this game but I also don't let my emotions rule a sensible outlook on things. so without further words here are some reasons I prefer playing destiny now more than a few days ago: 1) Nobody can hoard special ammo anymore in crucible ... races to crates ... taking a death to be rewarded with a full special mag upon re spawn is complete trash and everyone who just read this knows it. cheap races and death should not gain the reward of comfy camping for minutes to come. - also 30 seconds is not a long time to wait to re up on special . so really there is nothing to complain about here other than you have to earn your special by winning a primary battle ... + you start with special .... so again nothing to complain about here, just earn your crate or bust. rating of the change _ 10/10 !! I no longer get scrubs running the map with things they shouldn't have. 2) exotics should feel exotic right ...? the changes made to shot guns ( which includes a damage buff btw ) make exotic shotguns feel exotic now. there is no reason why a UR NEEEEEDS 5 rounds .. 3 is half a fire team or a whole 3v3 scenario ... just no need. + the chaperone is awesome and finally feels unique - the ADS on RngFndr is nothing to complain about I don't notice a difference . the in air nerf MAKES SENSE ... think about it ... a shotgun is a train stopper with your feet not on the ground it would literally send your body reeling from recoil + afore carried momentum. were lucky we can break into a sprint after firing off rounds. just saying in air nerf makes sense . I'm an avid shotgun user . I love them and I'm NOT upset at all with their performance. I've been going + in k\d no prob these last few days. rating of changes 8/10 - shotguns are not door crashers they are train stoppers. they work well when used well . you would be surprised at how many people simply run into a barrel of a buckshot sandwich. 3 ) autos Low ROF needed the buff pulses Low ROF needed the buff / high \ROF needed the nerf . they are so small of changes its hardly noticeable but it does make the Unfair scope of a gunfight more narrow, which is in my view more fair. less changes of silly things taking place. a feeling of a fair gun fight makes a shit death easier to accept at least so these changes in my mind don't hurt . rating 3/10 - minimal impact changes = minimized opinion. still good though fair is good in my mind. p.s. instant refills on health make sense seeing as regen cuts off when taking damage. nuff said. 4) hand cannons are hand cannons again 10/10 5***** ok so why is this good ? : -no more cheap kill runs from scrubs in crucible -primaries are a greater focus for kills now which is how this game should be played anyways (my opinion don't hate) -shotguns have to be used appropriately giving other weapons *cough sidearms * cough a chance for use no more effective door crashing from phatmuzzles - all primaries got something to make them more effective overall and to narrow the gap in OPness between them in the same sweep. ( kind of runs in with point 2 ) - and a bunch of little tweaks were made to take the cheapness that makes me not enjoy this game out. this was actually a very small tweak in the game and other than the special economy in crucible changing to prevent special hoarding and cheap runs not a lot other than buffing hand cannons (thank you again) was done. + this _ community forums from November 2016 -January 2017 : "bungie shotguns are op bungie nerf shotguns bungie your game is broken everything sucks I cant play crucible without encountering a matadore and clever dragon" "bungie why is it that I'm still getting killed by the same OP matadoredragon HCR BF combos?" "bungie why aren't you listening?" bungie: "we here you guys . matador and clever dragon ... overused and OP .. yes we hear you and we are working very hard to balance the game please be easy on us we are trying :) " community after February 14 / 2017 "waaaa, waaa, booo hooo, we hate you bunige! the game is broken even more and I don't wanna play" today February 17 /2017 CrestedEBIN " this^"
thegame
1 ReplyEdited by Void Cypher: 2/17/2017 6:14:03 PMHey Cozmo, thanks for making this central thread. This patch is an interesting one. I can't recall a patch that stirred people up this much (at least not since year 1). Some changes were great, like the in-air accuracy buffs to primaries and the slight increase to base damage and the increase to the crit multiplier for auto rifles. However, a lot went wrong with this patch. The new health regen mechanics are not fun. Especially towards those who thoroughly enjoy playing Voidwalker. It was very rewarding to chain ability kills together to regen any lost health. For Bladedancer, the Hungering Blade change doesn't hurt the super so much as it hurts the Blade's neutral game. Only gaining a portion of health back after a blink strike kill is very rarely helpful in comparison to being able to fully regen your shields. Hunter recovery is not the best as it is, and this was a nice way to keep your health up. Now, one body shot from a hand cannon immediately takes away any gained health you may have gotten. I stuck with Bladedancer from the time I got this game and through all the various changes. This one is the nail in the coffin for me, it really saddens me to no longer enjoy my favorite subclass. I believe the vast majority of players would prefer the old health regen mechanics compared to the new ones. The change to blink is ridiculous, in my opinion. It just makes me think 'Why?'. I can certainly understand that it can be frustrating for newer/less experienced players, but blink has already been hit with so many nerfs that this feels like you're kicking it while it's down. C'mon now. This change completey put it in the ground. I'm not 100% sure how I feel on the change made to special ammo. On one hand, there's usually a special box around somewhere on the map where you can go pick up some ammo after dying, but I can not explain to you how infuriating it is to spawn near a super and be completey helpless against it because I have no special ammo. I thoroughly enjoyed challenging supers before, running the risk of feeding them the kill for the chance of taking them out keeping them from getting multiples kills. Often enough I was successful, and it felt incredibly rewarding. Now, I see a super and have to cowardly run away because I can't do anything about it. Also, melees. Everywhere now because no one has special. Makes Warlock melees even more frustrating when you're not playing as one. I'd personally prefer to have special work the way it did prior to this patch. The nerf to High Caliber Rounds on pulse rifles and overall pulse rifle flinch reduction is okay. My favorite primary weapon is, by far, a pulse rifle, but this change doesn't bother me. It doesn't make my pulse any less effective necessarily (as in it doesn't change Time to Kill), it just helps to make the experience of getting shot by it less frustrating for the player on the receiving end of my bullets. The change to the fire rate of the Grasp of Malok type pulse rifle was a very poor route to take though. Now, why would I use my Grasp over my Hawkaw? There's almost no reason to. The way the pulse feels was changed with this, for the worse, and that is not fun. The change to quickdraw on the subclass and the exotic is okay to me. They're both still very good options, just not quite as good, potentially opening up room for other options (as I assume was the goal with the change). I feel that only amplitude needed to adjusted on Thunderstike. I've never seen any body use chain lighting or rising storm in PvP, ever. I've tried out rising storm, and while it was neat and pretty effective, amplitude is just too ridiculously good to use anything other than it, even after this patch. Landfall change was fine for me, I can understand it. Personally, I will probably end up playing Destiny significantly less, especially PvP, now that this patch is out. Some of my favorite things in the game such as blink, the strategy between knowing when to use primary vs special and my favorite type of pulse rifle have all been severely crippled. After all my play time (66 days according to bungie.net, 215 days according to timewastedondestiny, which definitely feels more accurate than the former) I may finally be finished playing Destiny until the next iteration comes out. I totally sound over dramatic right now, but this is borderline heartbreaking for me. I hope a new hotfix is deployed in the near future.

Overall, it is a very good balance. But some things are just ridiculous: The blink nerf: another nerf targeting the Realkraftyy playstyle that I main and love. If this has to be a thing, give us an artifact that lets the hud remain on screen during a blink. The quickdraw nerf: again, another Kraftyy playstyle target. Cmon, we love our quickdraw, and it was just wiped off the face of the earth. Truth nerf: Although this dosen't directly affect me, it is stupid. Nerf it to 2 rounds, fine. But ONE round? uhhh Last Word: I was mad when you nerfed the hip fire on this gem. But now "ghost bullets still remain while firing in full auto"? You literally make a weapon that is designed to shine in those two areas, and you nerfed those same areas. wtf??? Hungering blade change: This was already the weakest super in the game. While this change wasn't as bad as I thought, it's still bad. Arc Blade needs to be a viable super, not a guardian with a target on their back. Knife changes: I was really hoping for a throwing knife buff. I can't telll you how many times i've hit a 50m+ knife to the head, only to leave my victim slivered. Disappointing eh? Special changes: I just think there are better alternatives other than shutting of the switch completely. I'll end on a positive note - everything else about the patch is brilliant. I wish you would've touched up on lighting grenades, but I digress. The primary weapons feel nice, and the weapon balances are pretty good.
-
I agree with most people on here, but man...you guys done screwed up big time this time around.
-
Please give us a fusion that regenerates ammo. There are Invectives, Icebreakers, and sidearms for all other types. Show some love for those of us who trained and love that style of game play. Not asking for something as godly as a Vigil. Just something on par with an Invective. Seems fair.

2 RepliesEdited by GuardianOfExile: 2/17/2017 7:16:06 PMWhat do I like? -Blink IMO needed to get nerfed. I hate that people could rush with shotguns and blink and they could one shot people without even aiming -The fact I could go into Crucible without worrying about shotguns and able to use my [armory]Infinite Edge[/armory] sword is amazing! I even got my friend to play it. He didn't like Crucible and when I told him about the nerfs and buffs, he was sad about some but happy about others. He went negative with a gun he is not comfortable with, but and once he swapped to his Outbreak Prime, his KD went above positive the entire game. -The variety of guns that have been buffed makes me blush every time I think about it. I wanted to use my [armory]Adept Water Star[/armory] but the accuracy was terrible. Along with most of my ARs. Now they got buffed, its a smooth ride for me. -The fact I could challenge a Bladedancer without worrying about his health go to max after a kill was so soothing. -People have to use things other than Shotguns, Pulse Rifles, and [armory]Truth[/armory]. What do I hate? -That people are complaining about the Meta changing. I didn't like how Thorn was nerfed in Year 1 but I got over it and tried to have discussions about it, not complaining on forums and trying to use a gun that is not supposed to be played how people use it. What do I think is good but could be better? -Auto Rifles IMO are in a place that I decide whether or not I want to rock with a Hand Cannon or an Auto Rifle. Being in my top couple choices for primaries is amazing. I would like to see about maybe a little buff to the damage. A tiny little one that makes a huge difference in gun fights. Maybe more flinch towards the opponent or maybe adding 1-3 extra points damage to the body and 1-2 extra damage to the head. What would I change? -Why weren't fusions talked about? My favorite special weapon is [armory]Plan C[/armory]. I have experienced a lot of moments when I fire at my opponent, my opponent kills me, and I am dumbstruck. I think "Why did only one bolt pop out of the gun"? Maybe think or consider a tiny buff to aim assist, recoil control, or damage. Maybe picking a pair of the three is good but not all 3. It would be a little too OP. -Try to fix the health regen perk soon. Or maybe say "We are experimenting with health regen perks for a certain duration of time". It doesn't bother me so much but it is a little annoying when I pop my bubble and I am getting rushed because the enemy knows I have low health. -The Nightstalker loophole with Axion Bolts is annoying and cheap to do. Can we consider a removal of that entirely or maybe a workaround where the grenade moves faster but its duration is also reduced? I tried to really be honest here and help towards the community and the PvP and PvE portion of Destiny. If you have questions about my decisions, you can always leave a comment or send me Private Message. Thanks! [armory][/armory]

I would rather be shotgunned and have special ammo crates rather than be sprayed down by side arms. I have mixed feelings about the special crates, how ever I believe it could be fixed in a couple of ways; try giving back all of the year 1 special spawns so there is a higher chance off of respawn to be near and have special ammo. I am saying this because there was a reduction to range from 100 to 75 meters for special ammo to be able to be picked up. Another thing we can do is cycle it like in year 1 with heavy, when someone dies on the enemy team who had special, the opposing guardian can pick it up at a slight reduced amount. I would like a CYCLE in the ECONOMY of special, not just a pool being flooded, so there are short waves of special. We don't need to treat it like heavy ammo.
-
Im really happy with patch overall. Only suggestions are to truly reintroduce variety, takeaway sidearm ammo on death as well (easier to code) and auto reload special when picking up brick would pick the pace of crucible back up.

Destiny has been playing the same way for 3 years. Why change it for the worse now? This game was great with special ammo, it gave less skilled players a chance to even the odds with the higher skilled players. It made the pace of the game quicker. It's EXCITING! Why did you essentially remove special?(unless you carry a sidearm.) Why don't you guys do your job and fix shotguns, instead of removing special ammo?? This pisses me off soooo much. I had so much time invested in this game and now after this shitty patch, this game is unplayable for me. You made blink utterly useless. That was my favorite perk to use. I liked the mobility of it and the ability to escape. Why force people to play a certain way. That isn't fun or fair to the community. TRIALS IS AWFUL NOW! It's boring. It's slower. It's campy, especially with Skorri's. It's sidearm, NLB. Which are not fun to use for a lot of people. People want to play the game how they have been playing and how they desire to play. Give them all the tools to do so. Who cares if special is used more. It's what made your game great. Feed off that. I'd rather get APE'D a million times over with a God roll matador than play this awful game now. CHANGE IT BACK. Special ammo was never a problem. It was the ridiculous range of shotguns and rolls you guys gave them. Change the NERF to blink. Nothing was wrong with it. How does it make sense to lose your radar because you decide to use a perk the game gave you. This is pathetic. I will not be playing this game as long as these awful changes exist. Satisfy your community. Not your ego's.
-
1 ReplyInstead of all your special ammo being lost on death, why not only 1/2 each time you die, or some other fraction. If you then increased the time it takes for ammo boxes to drop, people would be more conservative with their ammo, and not as many people would spam

I would really like to see regeneration perks returned to normal. With Bladedancer, I think it should restore just slightly more health. While Inunderstand that health regeneration could be instantly stopped, chunks of Heath is the way to go. That is coming from a non-user. Life Steal, Embrace the Void, Suros Regime, and Red Death feel so useless now that you get such a small amount of health back and nonregen. That feels like why you use those weapons. I understand that Red Death's perk was nerfed to prock less often, but it still did its job. Also, with Truth, it now feels entirely useless. Please at least give it one more rocket back. Or better yet, make changes to weapons in only the Crucible and not to PvE. My Stormcaller has been entirely destroyed in PvE by it being too much in the Crucible. I used to be able to clear whole areas with one activation and do DPS onto a large target (I mean you, Paradox and Darnu). Now I can't. With the Crucible, I think sidearms either need to drop additional ammunition gained from special boxes, or only certain sidearms should get to keep two clips. The amount of time that I've already been killed by a Wormwood and the Trespasser is literally stupid.

1 ReplyHey Cozmo. Here is my feedback on Hotfix 2.5.0.2 - Primaries feel good: Change to hand cannon accuracy is a huge improvement and the decrease in "ghost bullets" is a godsend and cuts down on needless frustration. I was initially worried about the severe damage drop off, but so far it has struck a nice balance between accuracy and damage in PvP. I have not had a chance to test out Hand Cannons in PvE and feel the drop off might be a bigger problem there. But as far as Crucible goes, primary changes feel very nice. - Special ammo economy: Mixed reactions here. As a result of losing ammo upon death, I am seeing far more primary battles (which is a good thing). I have not felt starved for special either, since upon respawn there is usually some special ammo coming up within a few seconds. But it does create a weird cycle where picking up special ammo and reloading special weapons upon pick-up occurs way too much in a match and becomes tiresome. Where before you'd pick up a handful of special boxes in a match, it feels like I am grabbing like 7+ of them now, then reloading my special, get into some engagements, and then repeat the special routine. It is feeling redundant. Sidearms also seem to get too much of an advantage when it comes to ammo since they do not seem to lose any ammo upon death, so while a fusion rifle user will find himself with 0 ammo halfway through a match, a side-arm user may have 100+ ammo because they don't lose anything. That is too much of a difference between special classes and I fear we will see nothing but side-arms if this doesn't get addressed. On a personal note, my favorite Fusion rifle (Plan C) seems to have suffered a specific nerf because of the special ammo changes since it interferes with its exotic perk. Since the Plan C perk requires your weapon to be stowed away for 10 seconds to be active, if you are using this weapon and spawn in with zero ammo, run up to a special box and pick ammo up, then you have to equip Plan C to reload it (essential restarting the Plan C exotic perk timer) then stow it away again to start the timer. Small nerf, but pretty annoying. Maybe consider allowing Plan C to automatically reload while stored away? - Blink: Do not agree with the Blink nerf. Blink hadn't been a problem since the last nerf that reduced recovery. It was a defensive move and disabling radar was an odd change that served no purpose. Nobody was complaining about blink. I am on these forums and reddit on a daily basis and I have not seen one single post complaining about Blink in over a year. - Truth: Another change that seemed to come out of nowhere. Truth was not a problem. Not once after getting killed by Truth since this game came out have I said to myself "Man, they need to nerf that thing!". It is an exotic heavy basically designed for PvP. It should be the best at what it does. I was fine with the 3 rockets in the chamber, but if a reduction was made, 1 in the chamber seems excessive and 2 would have been fine. Especially since it is now severely nerfed in PvE activities as a result. - Health Regen Accidental change: Now this is the change that I have the biggest issue with by far. I won't comment on the decision to change how Hungering Blade works because I rarely use Bladedancer. But, once it was discovered that the change unintentionally affected 10 other perks/exotics, the change should not have been released until fixed. Those unintended changes have completely changed certain classes, builds, play styles and the very perks that make some items exotic. It makes a huge difference in PvE actives, as well as PvP. In my opinion, those perks need to be reverted back to how they were asap. If the fix is trickier than expected, then Hugering Blade should be rolled back to its previous state until it can be changed correctly. The was no need to move forward with that one change knowing it affected 10 other items. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback, Cozmo.

Edited by evcraft24: 2/17/2017 7:37:33 PMI like the primary buff you know cause Monte Carlo needs time to shine but I HATE how when you die you lose special that's not fair at all when sidearms always have it! What could be better is changing it to where we all have special but just limit down the range of shotys and change it back to the way it was except for primary's it is good

Destiny was and still is my life. I play more than 3 years now. I never had friends in real life and only a little ammount of social contact. Destiny was really the only thing which made my life worth living and after the latest patch I fell into a huge depression. I have every character at max light so I play(ed) a lot of PVP. But the latest patch made it even more campy than it was before. I am a solid PVP player (check my stats if you want) and can normally compete with other players. But since the SPECIAL ammo made the game SPECIAL it isn't now any more. And because of this my life is completely meaningless (even more than before). Please change the special ammo back, this is my life I don't have anything else. And please fix it soon. I just sit hours and hours before my TV and stare at the orbit stunned, depressed and unable to move.

3 RepliesWhat do you like? - I like how different guns are being used now. What do you hate? - Hungering Blade nerf was uncalled for and inadvertently effecting other perks was a mistake. I've read that the change was made because of the special ammo nerf, because Blade would be too powerful. This argument does not hold water because Blade was already the easiest to kill super. If a storm caller, golden gun, or sunbreaker sees you... you are pretty much dead aside from a snipe from a highest impact sniper. Blade is the only super you can reliably kill by team shot or just solo with shotgun melee. Blade would not be OP with hungering blade still in tact. In fact, Blade needs a buff to come in line with the strength of other roaming supers. - Blink nerf. Why? Blink was already one of the worst movements in the game in high level play. Why nerf it even further when no one was complaining about it? - Quickdraw. Again, why? Quickdraw was always a good perk but I didn't hear anything about people complaining that it was OP. This was unnecessary. What do you think is good but could be better? - Special ammo nerf is depressing. I do think it's better to have more primary battles but there has to be a better way to do this. I don't know what it is but I want to use my shotgun. I've trained shotgun for 2 years, I want to be able to bait a guy around the corner and one hit kill him. Since the patch dropped, I've tried to play with shotgun and out of habit I slide in and click.... nothing in the mag. This is highly disappointing. I even switched to invective for the ammo regen, I would slide in and click.... still no kill because the thing has to be reloaded for it's special ammo. That is a terrible feeling. My clan-mate is a sniper and as the only sniper in our squad, he has trained it hard and gotten pretty effective with it. It's the most fun thing in the game for him to be able to get a pick and sway the numbers in our favor. He says he is now neutered and you've taken away the most fun thing in the game for him. You've inadvertently created a sidearm meta. Is that what you intended? Balance is always preached but guess what, now everyone will use sidearm so they can actually have some special ammo. I can't imagine you really want to shoehorn us in to sidearms. What would you change? - Roll back blink and hungering blade nerfs immediately. They were unnecessary, uncalled for, and poorly executed. - Buff blink so it is a legitimate movement option. - Roll back quick draw nerf. Unnecessary and uncalled for. - Find an option for special ammo economy that doesn't completely neuter shotguns, snipers, and fusions. - Understand that using a particular tool a lot DOESN"T MEAN THAT IT NEEDS TO BE NERFED. The hardcore community that has stuck around this long will always gravitate towards the best tools. Please don't continue nerfing the things that are seeing a lot of use. It feels terrible to finally find something you are good with to have it nerfed to becoming unusable. This has happened many times over the course of Destiny. Bring other viable options up, don't keep nerfing things that get used a lot. You are taking the joy out of the game.
