New Meta Discussion:

My aim with this post is to start a discussion amongst the more avid PvPers among you about the state of the new meta and what is now the best gear to use in Destiny. Please feel free to post your experiences with what works and what doesn't below. Here are my findings: Possibly the most prevalent loadout I've seen since the patch is Hand Cannon coupled with Sidearm, namely Palindrome/Luna and Trespasser. Hand Cannons are extremely powerful at close range now and can consistently three tap without ghost bullets. Sidearms absolutely melt in CQC in place of Shotguns and the special ammo changes essentially don't apply to them, making them a very strong pick. Other primaries I've seen work fairly well are MIDA, Blind Perdition (and, by extension, Hawksaw), Parthian Shot, and Clever Dragon (despite receiving a nerf, it still has a fairly fast TTK. However rolls with Hand-Laid will probably see more use thanks to the mag size nerf). In terms of secondaries, Sidearms are a strong pick for reasons mentioned earlier, Shotguns can still be used but nowhere near as effectively, Snipers will probably see a small bump in usage thanks to the new special changes promoting more passive play, and Fusions will probably stay round about where they are. Unfortunately I can't really comment on the Class changes as I played a Bladedancer for most of yesterday, but a couple of things I want to note: - Hungering Blade is still the best pick for PvP. It's not as strong as it used to be, but it's still better than Encore and Stalker for 90% of situations. - The Shinobu's Vow nerf doesn't appear to have worked, as I still have two grenade charges when I use them and the tracking appears to have remained unchanged.
