Bad move. And stupid.
If I tried to pull something like this in my industry, I would be fired.
Hey customer, while trying to fix something not working right with my product that I am selling to you, and you've paid for and continue to give me money for, we mistakenly affected a whole bunch of other things negatively. I knew this might happen, but did it anyway instead of cutting the fix entirely and fixing it the right way because surely no one in thier right mind would think pushing this through with unintended and far reaching consequences is something no one would want.
We cool? No?!?!
I know you guys fashion yourselves hipster pionieers in this industry. And you are it shows.
But have some -blam!-ing common sense every one in a while!!
GOD!!

Agreed. I wouldn't have a job anymore if I did mine as well as the Bungie devs do
-
Well, then you should go to school for four years and learn how to program, you sound like the type of person who would get stuff done with no challenge stopping you whatsoever.
-
I've been to school for well more than four years and I build multi million dollar buildings. I know how to develop a product, give my clients the best, not treat them poorly, and not piss on thier leg and tell the "don't worry bro it's only raining!" You got anything else homeboy?
-
lmao, got anything else homeboy? hah.

I don't believe that you haven't had any problems come up in your projects, have they? I stopped expecting not just Destiny but life itself to just happen the way as we plan to happen. I'm not trying to excuse Bungie for not doing their job, because their job was to release the patch and they did just that. They didn't plan on also breaking health regeneration and even though it happened, I'm not mad about it, it's whatever. At least now, they've come forward when mistakes happen on their part and now seem to be looking for solutions to the problems they caused and I want to commend them for that, because that's the responsible thing to do. If everyone else wants to be mad about it fine, but I don't want to stay silent while people just throw salt at the developers when mistakes happen that are just out of their control.

Sure, issues have come up on my projects. But I would NEVER, EVER try to pass off a mess up like Bungie is doing here. If I did, I'd loose my company customers and I'd be out the job. Being upfront about an issue like this is a GIVEN. How you handle it shows your true measure of commitment to fair treatment to your customers. Mistakes happen. Sure. Being up front is being honest to your customer. Here's how you handle it. Customer, I was making some moves to fix A, but in the process of doing the fix we discovered that L, M, O, V, and X were affected, most of them negatively. Now we can reverse course and take that all away, but it will be delay us in other locations, namely here, here, and here. I propose we move forward, and deal with and fix the applications as we progress. Or Customer, I was making some moves to fix A, but in the process of doing the fix we discovered that L, M, O, V, and X were affected, most of them negatively. Obviously this is unacceptable and we will fix immediately. We'd appreciate your patience and will give you an update on progress shortly. Or Customer, I was making some moves to fix A, but in the process of doing the fix we discovered that L, M, O, V, and X were affected, most of them negatively. The process to fix may be detrimental to even further activities. First, please my apologies for the inconvenience. If left as is, here's exactly how you're impacted. Are you open to alternate compensation? How about O, S, Y, Z, or those other things we know you'd like? Not Customer, I was making some moves to fix A, but in the process of doing the fix we discovered that L, M, O, V, and X were affected, most of them negatively. We could have delayed application of A, which would have caused delay with other items, to make sure the fix was done correctly. But instead of even running it by you, we decided to proceed anyway, blemishes and all. I have no timeline on the fix, and cannot even confirm there will be one. Instead, I'd like you to let us know how these changes impact you, see if it pisses you off, and see if you cause enough of a fuss about it so that we can see if it's worth our time to put things back where they were before. Tah tah now! Enjoy!
