CAN WE TAKE A SECOND TO THINK ABOUT HOW THIS COULD BE USEFUL?
There is so much salt, but I can't really see anyone considering if this could be beneficial - bungie did say they would make adjustments based on feedback.
One major benefit I can see with the new mechanic is that the regen doesn't get cancelled as soon as you take damage - it's just an instant flat health addition. Where this might come in handy is when under heavy fire and using an aoe ability. For example a sunbreaker throws a hammer and kills 3 ads, you would get a huge chunk of health with cauterise (assuming the cooldown doesn't kick straight in). It might actually be a more consistent and reliable way of gaining health back in pve.
This only applies to aoe since it has more rapid kill potential, and therefore will get more regen. If cooldowns on cauterise got turned off this might actually be a better way to get back health that can't be shut down by incoming damage. I am presuming the same can be said about life steal void locks (someone with actual experience please chime in).
It's still a major nerf to things other then aoe, but it's worth noting since no one is even entertaining the idea that the new mechanic may have benefits.
