Love it or hate it, you're only here on this forum right now because you play the game and you care. You care about this game you love to play and/or love to hate.
Why care?
Simple, you've invested yourself into Destiny & not just with your wallet. You've built friendships and through those friendships, triumphed the challenges of Destiny as they have presented themselves.
Perhaps you and your friends have found your way into other games, other teams, but never forget, Destiny was that initial spark, and it still is.
Part of the challenge of Destiny is adapting to it's ever changing world, both intentional and unintentional.
I make no excuses for Bungie or assumptions as to how the patch should've been deployed but as a player of this ever changing world, I know that I, you, & them will be changed. We will adapt.
We are humans, we do that to survive. Fight or flight and I personally, choose to fight.
So the point of this post?
Ignore the noise, don't get discouraged and remember what first hooked you and yours with Destiny. For most of us, it's that First Raid completion or maybe even a trip or two to The Lighthouse, but ultimately it is that moment you truly felt a legend. Truly felt like you accomplished something. Did you do it alone? Probably not.
As Destiny 1 comes to a close before the ushering of Destiny 2, let us reflect and use this new meta as it was intended: To let you thrive anew in an ever changing game world while striving to maintain that which makes us a Guardian, our legend. You can only improve, if you want to.
Never lose focus Guardian, your aim will suffer.

Edited by wood_nutz: 2/15/2017 2:55:26 AMGood read...havent tried the new patch just yet...hopefully i get some time to soon. I'm pretty excited to see how ppl react to not having so much special or these unintentional changes. To everyone out there that still talks shit about the game....its been 2 years and some change. Play something else or stop playing for a while. Hell...i dont care wait until destiny 2 comes out. The problems are addressed and will eventually stop being addressed here in a cpl month when they decide to put full effort into destiny 2. Im not much of a pvp player but dammit i have fun with the game....flaws and all. And at the end of the day...i have hundreds of hours in the game....the closest game i have to destiny with so many hours is xenogears back in the 90s. Any ways....happy hunting guardians!

Xenogears, nuff' said.
Love it or hate it, you're only here on this forum right now because you play the game and you care
Wrong. I don't play anymore. Wrong. I don’t care. However, I do enjoy watching the forums burn when I am on the throne.

I saw someone that suspected that Bungie is making this game slow, boring and an overall shit game so that D2 seems super good and a great improvement compared to Destiny. Pretty interesting theory.
-
Not likely. For that to be true, Destiny would already have to be that way worse and as proven by the dedicated fan base on here, it isn't. It's thriving!

Ben's shilliness is quite disgusting, actually. The community needs some straight answers and/or a rollback of this patch, not this Tony Robbins motivational pablum. This is a video game that I paid significant coin for, not a life coach. I don't need Destiny to teach me life lessons, thank you very much. Nerfing one small item is fine, but when that programming change inadvertently breaks 10 or more other things, that's not acceptable. ESPECIALLY when you still push the update out the door, KNOWING THAT IT'S BROKEN, and hoping it'll blow over. Are you guys living in the real world?
-
Absolutely agreed, you did pay money for this and you're opinion is absolutely on point from your point of view. But again, whether the other changes not originally mentioned were intentional or not, it doesn't matter, it's Bungie's game. We just pay to play it. And for everyone here who is unhappy with the change, there is someone in Destiny enjoying it. The reason why more aren't on here saying why they like it is because they are playing the game and using the tools Bungie has given us, whether one sees them as broken or not.
-
No worries. It can always be reinstalled if you have a change of heart!
-
I really hate this patch Iam done because I get no special ammo when then I spawn In no special ammo
-
Sure, but it's not as bad as when they stopped heavy ammo dropping from your kills in normal pvp, that was a big change for some folks! We just have to adapt or not, ultimately.

Edited by chunkyjo: 2/15/2017 12:46:51 AMCome ON, man. That's such an apologist response.
Part of the challenge of Destiny is adapting to it's ever changing world, both intentional and unintentional.
Like what? Adapting to unintentional changes? This isn't some startup company looking to manipulate weather patterns. EVERYTHING... EVERYTHING coming out of Bungie is under their complete control and they're spouting off nonesense about waiting for a response from the community. What does that say about how much they still care about D1? A LOT. The game which we're all still playing by the way. What a joke. From you and Bungie. "Unintentional changes". Stop it. Just stop it.
-
True and that's why I make no apology for Bungie. But simply put, Destiny is amazing as it is. And though we all imagine and want it to be so much better, the passion on this forum should show you how it amazing it was and is in the first place. Remember, this is a console game that came out in 2014 and we're still excited for hotfixes, anything really, because as I said, we all did or still do, really love Destiny! ;)
-
OK. That's fair, but the issue of our love for the game isn't a question here. If anything, Bungie's love for their own product is on trial here. Absurd.
-
When destiny first came out, I had a full fireteam of trusted friends I could raid with. Now? I've got one friend trying to get his light up for the raid...
-
Well... PM me sometime if you're looking for a fireteam, always looking to make new friends!
-
Same here!
-
Thats like saying your girlfriend who you have loved for a couple years cheats on you all the time. Eventually even though you care about her and love her its time to move on... every update seems to get worse idk what goes on but it isn't working. Hopefully destiny 2 gets its shit together.
-
That's the thing that pisses me off so much about this thought. The update is, to me at least, a wild success. More weapons are thriving now in PVP then they ever have before. and no more maining a shotgun! But it's this ONE change that they just HAAAAADDDD to make, that ruined the entire patch. So sad to one of the most successful and respected devs in gaming history act like a startup right out of HBO's Silicon Valley. For Bungie's next update they're going to announce that D2 is cancelled and they're concentrating solely on pachinko machines.
-
Destiny 2 will look exactly like this. To expect something different is just not realistic. It is unfortunate
-
For sure, but that's what Destiny is. Since the beginning of the game it's been like this. I certainly don't expect it to change and honestly, I wouldn't want it to. The pendulum swings both ways.
-
I hear you on that. Let's look at year 1 for just a moment. It was a much better game. Has it improved? The answer is no in my view. My company makes chemicals. We have a huge R&D that steadily improves are products. If not we go out of business. We're is the that here? It just gets worse. They are not learning. They are just throwing it against the wall to see what sticks. That is a recipe for chapter 13. That's what I see. It is unfortunate.
-
Can't disagree there.
-
Precisely, though, that's where the flight aspect comes in ;) Wouldn't choose to fight through that, personally.
