Just food for thought here, not trying to prove or disprove this, but here goes.
I'd like to start by saying, yes, I know that Rezyl used a hand cannon and just because it was only mentioned once doesn't mean he only used it once.
However, with Rose/Thorn being important enough to have a name, wouldn't Rose have been mentioned as Rezyl's hand cannon? I mean it seems pretty damn important to Dredgen Yor's whole identity, yet Rezyl's handcannon is only mentioned in passing and is pretty clearly a run of the mill weapon.
Of course, they could've intentionally NOT mentioned it or its name, to add mystery to it. This seems to be one of the stories Bungie doesn't want you to ever get a real answer to, at least not for a while. Anyways, just looking for input. Like I said, I'm not on either side of this, I'm just trying to look at this somewhat objectively.

Yors Rose is like Gollums Precious. Even though it always looked like the thorn, in his eyes it was a rose. It wasn't until years later that, once he is fully corrupted, does he see it and realize that it's never had any petals and was always the thorn.

Yes, I'm familiar with the story, but what you said didn't address anything I said.

Because there is no definitive information on it.... What benefit would come from just agreeing with you or disagreeing with you if my only basis was lore that I imagined?

Edited by SSgt Carmine: 2/1/2017 4:05:38 PMI was looking for thoughts on it or explanations for it. You didn't connect any dots with that.

I was going to be a dick because my notification showed the original response before the edit, but I added my bit because you left that part out. My assumption would be that rezyl received the thorn during or after this interaction with Xyor, so it happened during a gap in the story between meeting Xyor and the events of TLW grimoire.

Thank you. THIS is the type of response I was looking for. And yeah I don't remember exactly what I wrote, but I realized I wouldn't get anywhere that way.
