Dr. Seuss made this political cartoon about Jewish refugees fleeing -godwinslaw!- Germany during WW2 and the U.S.'s skepticism in letting them in the country.
Notice the shirt. That phrase bears a striking resemblance to what the God Emperor preaches.
We are all humans. Not American. Not Syrian. Not Muslim. Not Christain. Humans. And to deny families, women, and children from fleeing their war torn nations to safety and freedom in the U.S. is wrong.
Do not let history repeat itself my friends.
Trump's ban will solve nothing. It will only give more reason for radicalized Muslims to join the fight against Democracy. It will only cause more terrorism.
History will be the judge of our actions. And blind bigotry and nationalism will not be shed in a good light.

Wait, you just found out about this?
-
2 RepliesYou left out military aged men. And the 28 year old teenagers that Europe has been taking. Don't be naive. We are not some big family. The Syrians have no right to come her and we have no responsibility to take them.
-
Lets just let everyone into our country. After all, we are all part of the same race
-
Im sure after the the second example runs its course there will be enough to prevent a third. Fyi with the analogy Telling americans to accept refugees is "by your analogy" telling the germans to take jewish refugees. I morally support taking refugees but l, like the analogy, can see "throwing jews at the germans" will just get the jews killed if you know what i mean. At this point with a spineless majority i dont see anyone standing up to trump anymore (politically).

1 ReplyOh my God, I hate it when people claim everyone is just humans and nothing else. No shit we're all humans, but we are also Americans, Russians, Syrians, whatever. Humans are extremely complicated, and to refer all humans as a collective ignores cultural barriers.

7 RepliesAn emotional appeal designed to make the reader disregard thought beyond their initial emotional reaction to what they're being presented and instead concern themselves with how they feel and how others might judge them, neither of which are arguments of course.

A better analogy of what Trump is doing is a father protecting his family first before concerning himself with another family. The "ban" is temporary and actually more of a restriction. Trump is performing correctly. More correctly than Obama did. Trump is doing his duty of acting in the interests of Americans first, before those of other nations.

5 RepliesOh here a group of those poor children. I really hope they get put into a western school with other 15 year olds. Especially the 15 year old western girls. Oh they'll get along so well.
-
10 RepliesHey look. It's one of those child refugees that Europe has graciously taken in. He's the tall one. He's a 14 year old child. Is that the kind of children we need to take?

6 RepliesEdited by The end again: 1/31/2017 10:20:06 PMIt's more then woman and children who are breaking the law, and yes they are in fact breaking the law. What is going on should not be called illegal immigration it should be called an invasion and treated as such. Now I know you will think I'm a heartless, winey, twelve year old, but that doesn't mean that I'm wrong. In my opinion we should have an effective boarder patrol that has a one warning policy which works like this, tell them to return to Mexico, if they don't within ten minutes or they try to advance you shoot them in the head. If they try to come in via air travel require that they have an American ID if they don't they can either return the on next flight or they can get legalised. This would solve a lot of problems fast.

I see this point very clearly and understand it. But I'm sure America will get involved next time a world power gets a tyrannical leader who plans to take over the world and extinguish a whole religious race. I'm sure "America first" will have its exceptions

Edited by love god: 1/31/2017 7:40:47 PMThere is a point where you need to fight for your freedom not like helping people this wrong but at what point should we stop and say fight for your freedom ?
yes not a . In site!
2 RepliesLet history repeat itself? Man the jews didn't have those hiding amongst them that wanted to murder innocent people simply because they believed in a twisted ideology. So no banning Muslims will not be repeating history

I think it's a great cartoon. And I think it's just as relevant today as it was when it was drawn.
