Question Regarding SIVA
So say that Oryx is still around doing Taken-y stuff.
And let's say SIVA outbreaks are still happening.
Is Oryx able to take a SIVA'd Fallen?
and if so, would his own version of Taken SIVA be able to be applied to all of his Taken?
Would this SIVA make the Taken, who are already perfect in the eyes of Oryx, even better?

I'd say the SIVA would probably be removed from someone who's taken. Dunno why but it kinda feels like Oryx would see it as an imperfection.

The way that the taken virus works, it probably works on a nanomolecular scale much like SIVA does. My guess is that SIVA would be advanced enough to combat the effects of being taken and SIVA fallen are immune to being taken.

3 RepliesEdited by NeckPUNCHattack: 1/31/2017 9:00:12 AMTime line wise, no... oryx died the final death before the last SIVA outbreak occurred (at least the 2 times of the outbreak that we know of, he wasn't here), so according to destiny lore, it's not possible and it'll never happen. Now, if he showed up during the events of rise of iron, I think he'd have SIVA infected taken along with his regular taken. How that'd play out, idk.... but it'd be interesting.

14 RepliesYes, Oryx can take anything that is living and has a will, so the splicers Fallen apply. However, Oryx isn't taking SIVA. He's just taking the Fallen. As we can see from the current Taken, any armor and weapons that victim has remain with it after crossing the Veil. So Taken Splicers would have a different appearance and weapons than the regular Taken Fallen, but the abilities would be the same. This is because of the way Taking works. When something is Taken, the Darkness speaks to the victim directly, eroding their will as they becomes slaves to the perfect, final shape. That is, to say, the Deep itself. The Darkness corrects a fundamental flaw and/or fear of the victim, resulting in its "perfection." This form of "perfection" is higher than the Devil Splicer's definition, so the abilities would be the same. This is because fusing with SIVA does not convert their existing weakness into strength, they simply improve upon their existing strengths. So, to answer your question, yes, Spliced Fallen could be Taken and their abilities would be the same. The only difference would their physical appearance and weapons.

I'd assume Taken>SIVA in strength, and I don't know if lore goes deep enough to describe the "Taken"'s reaction to technology, but I guess the SIVA would just get taken and be functionless wires and cubes on the fallen. Maybe not though, fallen wire rifles clearly still work albeit a different element.

If that were the case, wouldn't siva just eat away at the taken fallen, or self destruct? Or would the SIVA get taken as well (doubt it sense it's not a living thing). I have no idea. I have a headache now.
