I'm organizing a charity streaming event for a foundation for veterans called mission 22. 22 veterans are lost to suicide a day (Now 20) and mission 22 is here to stop that. This event will take place on February 10th and last 22 hours. Any one interested in participating by helping promote or streaming in this event let me know. You don't have to be some huge streamer! Edit! I'm not here to argue whether the military is wrong or right. If you disagree please just move on. I'm here to spread the word and hopefully gain some streamers to participate. Destiny is a great community and we have done some amazing things when we have united as one against one common goal.

9 RepliesIt's OK to be anti war but never anti soldier. They are not the ones who make policy decisions. They fight for you and risk their lives for you whether you agree with the politics of it or not. If you want to make your voice heard about how war is wrong, go march on Washington or London and make sure you vote instead of spitting in a soldier's face or making offensive remarks hiding behind a computer scree.

23 RepliesBeen reading this book lately called On Killing, it's an study on the psychological effects of close range killing, as well as justification cycle that comes along with the killing. The book highlights the importance of a welcome homecoming, and how having a country that stands behind them and convinces them that what they did was just and for a cause is imperative to their continued mental health, especially if they have killed. That is why vietnam has the most ptsd cases of any American war, because when those soldiers came home they were condemned instead of being convinced their actions were just.

I have a donation link setup on my stream but unfortunately i do not have the necessary equipment to run overlay as i stream directly through my ps4. No respectable veteran would get behind this type of self promotion where you claim charity then ask for donations to stuff your own damn pockets. 4 RepliesThanks for doing this I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend the event but I appreciate the gesture none the less. It's nice to see someone actually thinking of Veterans and active service members outside of Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. Looking at some of the comments below though... If something would ever happen to the US again many of these same individuals would be looking for the Military to step in and defend them. If you don't agree with things the Military has done in the past, fine. However, don't act as if the service members themselves get to pick and choice what conflicts they participate in. If you really have a problem with what happens in the Military then you should think very carefully about who you elect into office, as they decide where the Military goes and what it does.
