Water boarding is not torture if you gently rinse some shampoo and conditioner through the hair simultaneously
spa treatment for a luxurious shine
I think a better question would be, do you think the recipient of waterboarding considers themselves being tortured?
Water boarding is probably the gentlest form of torture available. It's quick, easy, effective and can be done with minimal supplies.
I imagine you disagree but I personally support the use of torture, as it is a viable means of extracting valuable information as well as being a powerful psychological deterrent.
As it stands, we are fighting an opponent that follows no rules of engagement, they acknowledge zero human rights and are actively participating in committing what we consider to be war crimes. If one of our soldiers is captured, they face brutal physical torture and most likely death, then - them on the other hand know that if we injure them, we will at least try to treat them, then they are fed and clothed and receive more dignity and rights than all of the innocent people that their organisation has tortured, sexually assaulted, and killed.
I appreciate your viewpoints generally Max and I support everyone's right to an opinion, but for me - I support the use of torture to potentially save innocent lives. If we torture anyone who was actually innocent, then I say that's unlucky for them but perhaps they should consider the reasons why, and appreciate the necessity for us to use on people who actually do deserve it.
SN: I'm not a republican, or American. I'm English and ex-military, and for the sake of the inevitable question, yes. I would do it myself.
