Some of y'all just aren't thinking about the real dangers of a surveillance state. Maybe you've never searched or said anything that could possibly be deemed dangerous or illegal but certainly something offensive, controversial and embarrassing at the least. Anything and everything you've sent, received, looked at, downloaded whatever electronically is there for the government or really anyone to use against you anything whether it's serious or trivial.
Having an affair your spouse doesn't know about while already in the middle of the divorce? Their lawyer is going to find out before it's over and he won't even need a subpoena or a warrent and it will affect that alimony maybe custody too if you have kids. Idiot friend text you a picture of drugs or even just an invitation to pertake? An NSA analyst comes accross it and it is forwarded to your local police and you're both on the hook. Being vetted for an important and valuable job? Hope employers like all your edgy political opinions youv ever communicated in a chat room or a forum. Running for office? Hope voters like all your lesbian porn. Applying to a esteamed liberal University? Hope admissions likes all your racist, misogynistic politically incorrect humor. Doing small miscellaneous jobs for friends for money off the books? Hope you didn't talk about it at all over the phone or the IRS is coming for that money you're trying to hide from them you tax evading son-of-a-bich. One of the worst case scenarios the government or at least the current dominant regime decides there not going to tolerate a different opinion from the states so what do they do? They go through a database of everyone who has a different opinion then drums up some charge any charge from the wealth of information they have on them for all the justification they need to silence dissension and effectively lock themselves into power because once its done fewer people are likely to express and organize those "seditious" opinions. It doesn't take long for people to stop thinking and acting free if they think they're being watched 24/7. But I don't know I think this is something everyone should be concerned about but you maybe you're probably fine I'm sure none of this could ever apply to you...
