DESTINY THE REAL ANTAGONIST (ITS NOT THE DARKNESS!)

DISCLAIMER: this is a very rough theory. I cannot say for certain that this is true, and I'd like some people to help me find evidence and support of this theory. Thanks! So as we all know, in destiny we have the light and the dark. For years these two forces have clashed and for years the light has fled. The travelled is one who emits this light, for once, it has stopped and caught back the darkness alongside the humans. We have all been shown that the darkness is evil. However, in my recent discoveries I'm starting to doubt this. Here are my reasons why: 1. The light is what brought us back, and for obvious reasons the speaker/traveler wants us all to believe it's not evil and is here to protect itself and ourselves. We have a biased prospective 2. The traveler can easily be using us for its defense. It's believed that the traveller is defending itself, it's clear that it doesn't plan to do this for very long. Eventually it will awaken, it will recover and fight back the darkness. But what happens then? Will it just leave all the humans? We won't have any use to the traveler once it's recovered 3. The hive and the vex have been associated with the darkness. It's said that the darkness delivers destruction and death, and the light brings peace and life. if so then why does the hive and vex work along side the darkness? Why do the hive worship this power? Is it because it's stronger? I have came to believe that, there is more we don't know. I suspect that the light isn't what we all think it is. I believe that there is a true enemy, even beyond the darkness, something driving these forces. They must have came from somewhere. In my conclusion, I believe that the true antagonist is...
error code weasel. No matter what we do, wether we face the darkness, or we are losing to the darkness, or we are just out and about, the weasel strikes. https://imgur.com/gallery/j6dze
• The fact of the matter is that neither the traveler or the darkness are "good." The traveler did build up civilizations only to abandon them later on (the fallen are a good example of this). Oryx and his sisters committed genocide a few thousand times.

Without the traveler we would still be dead, and humanity would be long destroyed. It gave us life and light in order to protect itself and ourselves. The two of us go hand in hand, not by ourselves. It's not us or the traveler trying to survive, it is the mutual fight for the existence of good.

  • 1. The Traveller amassed an army of the already-dead (us) to defend itself. Oryx and his sisters destroy whole worlds and civilizations....and TAKE the living (The Taken) to create a ghost army....to serve The Darkness. 2. We don't know what happens when/if The Traveller Awakens. The Darkness gave us The Collapse, and The Fallen The Whirlwind. 3. Why? Because The Darkness (through the Worm Gods) gave the Hive rulers (Oryx and his Sisters) what is essentially immortality....as long as they are willing to prey upon others. (The same Deal with the Devil that comes with vampirism...a deal that many fictional humans have made themselves). The average hive---through symbiosis with the worm larvae---was given power and a significantly longer life. No one knows what is going on with the Vex. Whether they serve The Darkness...or whether they are simply accommodating it...in an effort to assure their own survival. 4. The Hive made what is known as the Faustian Bargain. Named after Dr. Faustus. Who sold his soul to the Devil ( Mephistopholes) in exchange for Knowledge and Power. Religious and pop culture history is filled with stories of people who will willingly hand themselves over to evil....allow themselves to be corrupted...in either desperation or greed. Whether it's Judas Iscariot agreeing to betray Jesus to the authorities for 12 pieces of Silver. Genies (who are demons---djin--- in Islamic theology) granting wishes. Or the blues guitarist Robert Johnson having reputed sold his soul to the Devil at a crossroads in exchange for his ability to play the blues, and for fame. The bait, however, always has a HOOK. In that the deals never turn out well for the person making them...and the Devil (Evil) never grants the "gift" in quite the form the person wants/expects. The "Hook" in the bait for the Hive is that the hunger of the worms is insatiable. The more Light and Life it consumes, the more it hungers. So the result becomes an existence that is so painful and devoid of any meaning that you simply exist to destroy. Which is why suiciding is so much a part of the mythology of vampires. Some very ancient vampires find that their existence becomes so painfully empty, that, one day, they just walk out into the Sunlight and kill themselves. TLDR: The Traveller may not---and probably isn't----a force for Good as we Humans understand it. But the Darkness is most DEFINITELY Evil. Dont' kid yourselves.

    • Ok so I going to fall back on the fact that the story is messed up. In the original artwork the black garden was inside the traveler, as proof. The original story follows us becoming rogue and then killing the traveler. Remember the trailer where the queens brother was in the cosmodrome? He and a group of rogue gradians including the speaker where the protagonist party. The old story was scrapped, so now we have what was thrown together in six months. This is, believe it or not, all true. I know I'm. It explaining it very well, but who cares.

    • The vex chose to worship the darkness because the hive did it and kicked their asses, and the hive are essentially direct instruments of the darkness.

The darkness is a state of mind, an idea.... It is not one being or many. And yes, it's also Bungies incompetence.

              • Technically the traveller brought both light and darkness. Light in the form of the golden age and darkness in the form of every selfish race who wants the traveller for themselves (including guardians now)

                  • Wrong, in the final raid, the final boss fight. The enemy will rise and toss its armor aside and finally bring to light the true enemy of Destiny...Luke Smith. He will use his world famous, throw money at your screen (think the hive witch stun and Axsis stun) as his attack and fill your screen with thousands of images of money with him laughing at you on it. By the time it clears you will have half health and he will be screaming....dont you wish you had an elementary primary to save you! YOU DO NOT, I TOOK THEM ALL...MUAHAHAHA...this boss will be unbeatable unless you log out of the raid and come back in 24 hours. When you log back in he will be dying on the ground screaming, you defeated me the only way you could, you didn't give me your attention or money.

I'm surprised that you've been here for 2+ years and are just now figuring this out. I mean, when you think about it, who always attacks first? the fallen originally tried to go to the traveler after the "great whirlwind" and were attacked, starting the guardian/fallen war the hive are always hiding, worshiping in peace until we go out, destroy their monuments, kill their gods and slaughter droves of them for no reason whatsoever (one time they did try to drain the travelers light but after we continuously laid siege on their temples as for the vex, I've heard that (and this may not be true) atheon was once an ally of the traveler before he was betrayed, which might have lead to the vex hating the traveler and the guardians, but on occasion (the paradox) they do not shoot guardians, they need their help so they give them access to the vault of glass. the cabal, we invade their military base and they attack, seems justified. the taken, we killed their leaders son for no reason, no wonder he wants us dead splicers, we killed droves of their brothers, their leaders, their allies, their gods, they gain power and use it against us.

                        • The true enemy of Destiny is Bungie. The creators of Halo got in over their heads with this one. The longer the game has been out the more watered down and broken it's become. FACT. A sad fact actually. A good game but it should of been great
