Easier way to do this would be to allow us to manipulate weapon stats in private matches only. Sort of like how in Halo you could tweak overshield or ammo or anything like that. But it would get much too complicated. I love this idea because it has a very practical use: People who hate Bungie's meta can move away from it, but unfortunately it would be very tedious to implement. It would take as much Developer attention as something like Forge mode. Perhaps this should be incorporated into any future Forge mode plans? That's the only way I see it happening, and even then . . .

  • The reason I like the picking a patch level verse individual gun edits is simpicity. I would love what you are suggesting, but unless people could save and share these setting through the game system, it seems like it would be just for the hard core. Plus it would add complexity in that you would not be swapping out weapon stats, but rather doing an overlay, which adds logic (and bugs). that being said, it sound awesome. And then patches could potentially just be overlays as well. Either your way or mine, it would also allow Bungie to let people run patches in custom mode before they go live for the normal PvP matches, allowing for excellent real world testing and feed back before changes are hoisted on the users.
