Alright before I start I want to say no I do not support thorn metas beta and alpha metas and to be honest most metas had their shitty moments and every person who says year 1 is the meta we want is a dumbass
Alright let me start here Primary's
1. HandCannons
When handcannons were the one thing you could get and they had solid stats and probably the only weapon that was so brutally nerfed that made the shitty stats get so punished by the bloom that your shots wouldn't even do any damage is one of those things that -blam!- up the game and most arc types of that weapon type.
What I would do to fix it make every handcannon have decent stats so it could compete and make most perks on the weapon have there viability. Remove Bloom because it is a very unbalanced system that should only happen in games that are halo tbh
2. Scouts
One weapon that is good with shit damage and kill their high damage counterparts and still be the type of weapons people only pick if it had a hair trigger or godly stability. My fix
Make every scout have a hair trigger unless it does 65+ damage then add high cal on the damn thing
3. Autos
The weapon you pick if you're bored or you truely love the weapon type
The only thing that makes a auto good is if it has solid ROF and DPS because autos are the shitty weapon that god the nerf because bungie doesn't know how to properly say let's give this highest rof and godly stability but the low rof get the nerf cuz they were killing the high rate of fire at a longer range? My fix make headshots better and make low rates of fire get better range and stability oh and also with the low rate of fire
4.Pulses
Alright now to the guns that everyone hates and loves
Let's start with high rate of fire
Ok people know when things are good and over powered ok clever dragon is killable but it does have a bit too much range and the least amount of drop off now the only reason why it's overpowered/good is because of high cal not because the arc types are op the arc types are shit without good range and stability and are pretty useless *cough*
Every HROF pulse other then grasp clever dragon and the FWC pulse ( tbh it isn't that good without god role )
Basically good role = good gun
That makes sense and everyone who says it doesn't is retarded people grinded god role for grasp and it was a good gun Duh
And now low rate of fire ok they can two burst and some like hawk saw maybe and blind perdition the guns that aren't like they high rate of fire but do decent makes sense and why because THEY ARE GOOD ROLES people who say good roles are cancer they aren't we need some good roles now the weaker perks do need buffs
My fixes for HROF remove high cal give stabilty or range perk instead
My fix for LROF give high cal and make stability perks drop less but give more range perks so they don't two burst but they do snipe
Now to Secondary's
5. Snipers
Flinch is not a problem people think it is it's not it's balenced people don't complain it's high risk high reward and bungie even told you long range not close range and they did do need to buff low damage so much because some 3 shot a -blam!-ing sniper that three shots come on give them more aim assist that wouldn't be broken they don't even one shot supers and high damage are at a great point good job on that one bungie
My fix buff low damage and buff less flinch perks making them perks you want
6. Shotguns
Alright people hate these ducking things why because the movement systems that literally all oh wow this titans shit why because he's shot gunning huh? Oh yea they are only good when they are god role not because the actual gun type is godly it's only because people who use shotguns are probably a little bit looking for a crutch weapon cause he/she wants to go flawless not because he's shit at the game ok let's say snipers were godly people would use snipers people want a easy weapon not a difficult weapon it's basic human nature to get the easy way in life not the hard road it's not a dick move the metas there you can use it it's not a terrible meta you can counter shotguns find the counter then you will make the meta
My fixes remove full auto and make low impact shotguns have more range
7. Fusion Rifles
A mixed view weapon great all around weapon type and it's one of my most favorite weapons in the game they are the scout rifles to the secondary's some can be great some can be shit but that doesn't mean some can't be unusable and
To be honest bungie don't change a thing
Now what I would want added
A perk called Space Matter:adds bolts to the fusion rifle this should only be a perk that shows up on low impact
And Aggressive Ballistics on the fusion rifle
8. Sidearms
My second favorite weapon ever
I love the trespasser the most fun thing to use and most sidearms are pretty decent
But I would buff the stability on low impact sidearms and buff the range buff high impacts should stay the same
My fix more stability perks overall on all sidearms
9. Classes
1. Hunters
Night stalkers are pretty decent and a little over used
Blade dancer I love how it has a realy good weapon use subclass and it's not so much the super
Golden gun very unused and sadly one of the most weak and strong aspects but not good enough for constant use
2. Titans
Striker pretty much the 2nd strongest class in the game and a very fun and unstoppable super overall not too much problems with them
Defender fun and overpower if skilled enough
Sunbreaker the best roaming super
3.Warlocks
Storm callers are the best grenades and melee and super in the game
Sunsinger weak ass super and realy good if you know how to use
Voidwalker stronger and better then most supers but grenades are very good and melee is very good but stormcaller is better then it by most aspects but void walker is a good sniping class so not so bad
Ok now I want to clear some stuff up this is my opinion and I don't want a dickhead I the comment saying hey your an idiot cause my opinion is shit but it's not my opinion so I'm going to say stupid shit
Be fair and non biased with your opinions
And also if you enjoy something and you love it and do great with it use it and don't think after reading this you can't use it I want to say everything is useable in. Destiny and don't think you should use crap because it's the only thing used I. The crucible and try new things and see if you should try this weapon out
That's my opinion and this metas not half bad because getting a decent role is not hard and you can get the meta without grinding
Bye fellow guardians

Edited by blade329: 1/16/2017 8:30:11 PMNo, it's the whiners who kill this game. If you don't want a meta, I would direct you to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The never ending complaints about the meta, regardless of what it currently is, gets tiresome. It's a loot based game. There's never going to be a perfect balance.
-
Handcannons? Bullshit the first nerf on the vex was 34 1/2% plus an ammo reduction then it was hit with every fusion riffle nerf. Handcannons were never nerfed this bad
-
STRUCTURE A SENTENCE, PLEASE!
-
Storm caller have a best nades says op!? What a joke 😆 are you on hangover or something....
-
Don't nerf my raid auto or my trespasser they are my try hard class 😢
-
I don't agree with the shifts in weapon metas, but I understand bungies reasoning behind it. ( lack of content = messing with weapons to make it feel fresh.) However! The meta should at least make sense. There's no reason a high impact weapon should lose to a low impact weapon any time aside from user error. If the meta rotated primaries as a whole it'd just make more sense besides. "Okay. Here's two god roll weapons. Have fun for 7 months. Shouldn't be a problem."

I read the first few sentences and realized you have no idea what you are talking about. The title of this thread: "Why metas kill this game" - It seems you don't know what a "meta" is. It defines what is the strongest and most effective to use. This mostly translates to the highest level of skill. It often determines how healthy a game is. A game has all kinds of different mechanics and characteristics that always prefer a certain meta to be a healthy, fun and competitive game. A competitive game, is a good game. There isn't a competitive game that isn't balanced. Since year 1, people have mistaken the word "balance" for something that means that every single gun is equal to every other gun in any scenario. This is not "BALANCE", this is "UNbalance". When a meta is healthy and balanced, there will be a particular set of weapons and abilities that are often favored over others, while a player's skill and a team's chemistry define which weapons and abilities are the meta. In other words: Balance only occurs when skill heavily determines the outcome of battles and where map design and a game's characteristics determine HOW that skill is translated into a win. Now, read the previous sentence again and look at the "HOW". The HOW, is the meta. Which weapons and which sub classes enable the most skill to be applied in the game. There will always be something that isn't as good as X or Y. The same applies to real life. You can't escape that fate. Since Destiny has supers, heavy and many different classes, there are already many "comeback" mechanics in place. Destiny was a very casual game even in Year 1, and now has dropped to being a terrible game both casually and competitively. The current meta does NOT favor skill in a healthy way and relies on shitty netcode, lag and luck to win, much more than 2 years ago. The relation between shotguns, snipers and all primary sub classes has been severely damaged. In an effort to balance the game, they have consistently nerfed everything into the ground, where the current, overall Time-to-kill, handling and range does not fit the way Destiny 1 has been designed (maps, classes, movement etc.) There is always a meta. That's the only way a game becomes balanced: Having the RIGHT meta. "Alright before I start I want to say no I do not support thorn metas beta and alpha metas and to be honest most metas had their shitty moments and every person who says year 1 is the meta we want is a dumbass" - The year 1 meta was the only meta that was balanced in regard of Skill. Those metas where the most healthy from both a casual and competitive perspective. Primaries were used the way they were supposed to, the time-to-kill of primaries was very good. The handling of shotguns, snipers and primaries was very nice at that time. The current state of Destiny does not fit it's design by a long shot. "Remove Bloom because it is a very unbalanced system that should only happen in games that are halo tbh" - Bloom didn't fit in Halo. They hated it.
-
IMO, meta's kill the game because they're disrespectful to player time and effort. Someone who has ground 1000+ omnigul strikes to get a perfect rolled grasp should not have that work undone because the meta shifted two weeks later. I hate meta and people who play the meta, but I can totally sympathize with the frustrations these players must feel to finally get a weapon they were trying to get, only to have it be nerfed or go obsolete a few weeks later. Many of us were in that position at the end of Y1 when Xur sold G-horn and it went obsolete/was nerfed a few weeks later.

Great stuff. No wonder you are getting down voted.
-
"Stormcallers best grenades" you high brah?
-
Ni creas que me lei toda esa mierda :v
-
The sniper on my warlock is the best sniper in the game by far. Nothing comes close
-
stormcallers are the best grenades
This pretty much sums up your overwhelming lack of knowledge and competence.
-
This game isn't even about chasing loot anymore sadly, it's all about chasing perks -_- this game is a drug addict.
Meta's Kill In This Game
There, fixed it.
-
Not meta's P2p hosting
-
I did this post on the top of my head so don't hate on me too much bump up if you would want to see every weapon have a fair chance but will get counter by stronger weapon counterparts Bump down if you like one weapon type ruling this game
-
Either Hand Cannons should have a higher flinch multiplier or bloom should get toned down a smidgen. I hate being in Hand Cannon niche ranges and losing because Clever Dragon can get to Flinch stacks quicker than me with or WITHOUT High Caliber Rounds. Like . . . I get that it [Clever Dragon] should Flinch about that fast and well, but when the other weapons can't even amount to nearly as much . . . come on.
-
I respect your opinion but realistically there will never be a completely balanced game as some things will always be better than others. Besides, bungie are just doing events until destiny 2 so there probably won't be a weapons patch. Just live with it lol
-
Edited by Airboy: 1/16/2017 11:31:26 AMI think eyaslunas and palindrom archetype are in a good place, maybe some change on fast handcannons. pulse riffles good too, without highcalrounds!.. We need balance on low rate middle rate pulses and balancing on all automatics. They need to give fusions and sidearms more love to hold agains mapador
-
Lol balance. Balance will NEVER happen in a game in which the loot chase is the primary focus, and then take said loot into an arena shooter. You will always have a revolving meta when you have a bunch of different weapons with a bunch of different stats and perks. The fact that this game is over 2 years old, a sequel is on the horizon, and people are STILL talking about balance makes balance a pipe dream.
