Crucible is ran by Hunters????? You meant Jug Shield Titans and Stormcallers, right?
In regards to year 1. IMO year 1 was the absolute worse part of Destiny's end game. LFG was literally Ghorn/ Icebreaker or kick if you didn't find a clan you enjoyed being in or opt to make your own you were screwed. This was made even worse due to the fact that you had to beat the Heroic Raid in order to even have a shot of reaching max light level. Any sort of content that was remotely close to being challenging was cheesed at every opportunity. The grind to level up made the game feel more like a chore than fun.
The community as whole has remained the same from year 1 until now.
- People still complain about LFG Requirements
- People still complain about balance changes for Crucible
- People still want to have the "Master Race" claim for whatever class they play
- People still look for cheeses/ exploits to beat content
- People still complain about a lack of content

and even with all that it was better than it is now

You have every right to feel how you feel. However, I think the game overall is much better now than it was in year 1. A lot of the complaints people seem to have about Destiny now existed back in year 1 as well. The grind that many people hated about year 1 is gone. PvE endgame is actually accessible for more players.

Yr1 every weapon type was viable in pvp primary or special sure vex and suro were op and rightly nerfed, exotics reigned supreme which they should not this crap of a rotating meta we have had for nearly 2 years where 1/2 primaries archetypes are viable and its either snipers/shotguns dominating. As for pve the end game content was always accessible through lfg and the grind is what made getting op weapons worthwhile

Yr 1 had the same complaining about Meta's and certain weapons being OP as we're seeing now. This game has always had weapons that were superior to everything else. Next, LFG in year 1 was dominated by must have GHorn/ Icebreaker style post (If you didn't have those weapons you weren't getting in). Now we see post more based on your character's actual level rather than was RNG kind to you. The community was far more divided on the PvE side of the game than it is now, IMO that's an improvement. The grind did not make the weapons worthwhile it was used as an excuse to justify excluding those who didn't have said gear. For me being forced to play for days on end to unlock all the perks for my gear is worse than being able to pop motes and level my gear up in less than a minute. Being able to buy materials is much better than having to farm in patrol and hope some jerk didn't screw up my farming route. Being able to infuse gear I like to max level is much better than having to grind for weeks looking for materials needed to upgrade my gear to max status.
