I don't agree at all. Year one was a grindy cheesefest. Sure, nightfalls were harder. All that meant was that everyone cheesed them, playing passively and cowardly. 50% or more people had a super passive playstyle overall and you pretty much had to cheese strikes cause everyone else did so running around in the open alone meant drawing all the fire and dying. Even VoG was cheesed. LFG was full of loud, obnoxious children. You couldn't do anything without a ghorn cause you got kicked. Your purples were blues in disguise. Getting planetary mats was unbelievably slow and dull. The game had so little content you burned out in a month. It is a scientific fact that the human brain will sweeten memories. Year 1 was the dark ages of Destiny.

  • Don't forget all the little conveniences that Bungie has added over the last year or two, stuff like donations to factions, increased special/primary ammo drops, all the subclass tweaks that helped (voidwalkers gaining the potential to have super quick grenade regen).

Further cons: Cheesus RNGesus My main problems with year one was undoubtedly the cheezy, passive playstyle employed by a vast majority and the lack of meaningful drops/getting fudged on legendary engrams. Also lack of content. But the passive playstyle really stood out as a gamebreaker and made me leave before the first DLC. My main problems with the game today are lack of content, smallish DLCs, lack of meaningful drops, lack of diversity in useable weapons, the cringeworthy attempts at storytelling and plotlines, lack of immersion because of said storytelling and plotlines, the two-timing bullshit presented through Deej and the weakness of pretty much all exotic weapons. I totally prefer y3 Destiny though. But I'm generally sick to death of this game.

  • This. Y1 was full of cheesewheels and "Ghorn only" elitists. Nostalgia can be a bi***
