Best raid. Best pvp. But there have been quality of life improvements since then (less grind, more room for stuff). As well as actual majority non-pvp based content, which the original game severely lacked. Tough call.
-
You better add a satire tag because you're getting rekt
-
No, do you people not remember the endless grind for minimal reward
-
OP is a -blam!-ing MORON if he thinks anyone enjoyed the original vault space, limited chances to get exotics, Legendary engrams becoming rare, or crappy raids groups that would rather cheese them than actually play.

1 ReplyNo...no it was not. It wasn't even half a game back then.

1 ReplyYear 1 was good bc it was the beginning. It had potential. It was fun. But what destroyed year 1 was all the failed promises. Things like if you see it you can go there. Or a great cinematic story. That's just two and I know them well bc those two turned me off to the game. Other things like I don't have time to explain why i don't have time to explain, invisible walls of death and many various other things damaged destiny year 1. In my opinion destiny should have been released with everything up to and including Ttk. But here I am years later, still playing bc it's fun. I love the way it looks, and I love upgrading my guardians. I hope for destiny 2 year 1, they release a game that lives up to the promises made. If I can just name my guardian I would be happy.

1 ReplyYeah I loved running out of vault space, not being able to buy planetary materials, having separate class materials, having only one chance per week to attain max level, final round spears, last word ADS glitch, getting sniped by Plan C from across the roundabout in firebase Delphi, getting materials or rares from legendary engrams, the broken heavy ammo economy in PvP, people wanting to cheese every aspect of every raid making them not even fun to play...

I think year 1 was the best because that's the year we were making new discoveries, seeing everything for the first time, and all of the experiences were new. VoG was a totally fresh experience, we had no expectations going into it, and figuring it out was a true challenge. As far as the mechanics, weapon balancing, RNG, and other technical aspects of the game such as vault space and lack of kiosks, year 1 was not the best at all. Imagine that in year 1, the mechanics sarted out as they are now. And over the years, slowly got changed to what they were in year 1. Just take vault space for example. "Hey guys, going into year 3, we are further reducing vault space and removing kiosks. Now you need to use a spot on your vault for shaders and emblems. If you delete a shader or emblem its gone forever until RNG gives you a new one. Heavy ammo synths only stack up to 25 now, instead of 100. Materials stack up to 99, instead of 200." Or use the example of RNG: "Hello guardians, some tweaks to RNG... Blues and purples will hardly drop at all. Purples have a 90% chance of decoding onto a blue. Exotic engrams are removed from the game. The best way to get purples is to sit at a cave and shoot onto it for several hours at a time. If you're lucky, you'll get a few purple engrams every few hours or so." So in some ways it was better, bit in many ways it was not.

Edited by Salamanderis: 1/14/2017 12:27:15 AMDon't let nostalgia get the best of you. Taken King was probably the best thing that's happened to this game. And it seems like most people forget about everything it added. Like... -Nightstalker, Sunbreaker, and Stormcaller -Infusion -Trials Bounties (allows lower-skill players to obtain gear) -Legendary Marks (same for all 3 characters) -Can turn in bounties anywhere -Exotic Blueprint Collections -Kiosks -Armsday -Foundry weapons -VAULT SPACE -Rift, Mayhem, and Zone Control -And my personal favorite, swords

1 Reply-Beta: Gozen-C was dominant. -Y1: dismantled hunter armor gave sapphire wire (i was recently reminded of that too, its been so long i forgot about it lol) -TLW was a long range weapon -Thorn had 7 Burn per tick -I loved getting blink shotgunned, it made my day:) -Getting my Bad Juju bounty after turning in 3 crucible quests -many more
-
Enjoyability, yes I agree. I think the community was better too.
-
Agreed they should of left everything alone instead of catering to the kinderguardians, streamers etc. Smh.

Edited by Batz: 1/14/2017 12:27:38 AM1. We still had faith and hope back then 2. They had not had the opportunity to render old and enjoyable content moot yet 3. They had not made everything easy mode, meaning that there was still some enjoyment and sense of satisfaction when you reached that personal goal. Nowdays you just have to play for 2 hours per week and buy some 3oC to basically have access to everything.
