I literally was gonna buy Project Scorpio to play this game in 4K. I don't even know if I want it anymore lol. Microsoft has an awful 2017 Q1 and Q2 lineup. They better have some epic releases holiday 2017 and not just some lameass Halo 3 Anniversary and Crackdown 3.
They better have some epic releases holiday 2017 and not just some lameass Halo 3 Anniversary and Crackdown 3.
Microsoft does have a problem with games this generation. Halo Wars and Crackdown have their fans, but they were never big titles. I didn't play either on the 360. Meanwhile the competition will be putting out some highly anticipated titles like Horizon and Zelda. Despite all the work Phil Spencer has put into reviving the Xbox brand, I think the company as whole still sees the Xbone One the way it was presented at E3 in 2013.
-
I feel like they can't catch a break. They tried Scalebound and it failed. Crackdown is probably gonna bomb. Sea of Thievea seems solid. ReCore and Quantum Break were decent. They need to invest in more new IPs and hope something catches on lol.
-
you mean they need their own The Last of Us
-
Something like that. I personally was really looking forward to Scalebound. Given that it was developed properly, it would've been my GOTY 2017 or 2018, whenever it released.

Edited by I Speedwagon I: 1/11/2017 4:37:31 AMWhat's sad is Phil Spencer says we're better off, that just pisses me off.
-
Naw, I think the devs bit off more than they could chew, and Phil just put an end of it cause it wasn't going to hit deadlines. Saying it's what's best may or may not be true....but releasing trash is worse than nothing at all
-
True. It was absurd for him to make a statement like that
-
That's just a load of crap, and he knows it. Phil has done some good things for Xbox, it still stings that he said that bullshit. Xbox has an extremely weak lineup for 2017 as far as I'm concerned. From what I've read, Platinum had a shitty engine and missed deadlines. I am still hoping Sony, Nintendo, or Square Enix picks up the project.

Sadly its a MS owned ip the dame way bloodborn is sony owned. Don't get your hopes up to ever see that game come to life.
-
I am fairly sure that Bloodborne is owned by From Software. Or am I wrong?
-
No its owned by sony. They approached fromsoft to make it to make up for sleeping on Demons Souls, another Sony owned ip made by fromsoft.
-
Even if it was, is that such a bad thing? The game is fantastic.
-
Well, that sucks. Even if it did happen, we wouldn't see it for at least a few years. Microsoft needs to make some games...
-
Well they got some, but very few are new ips. So far cup head and sea of thieves are the only ones i van think of that are slated gor 2017 as far as new ips go. All the rest are sequels of an existing game. And in all honesty, i don't think crackdown 3 will have as much of a pull as people think, and sea of thieves i can see getting delayed into 2018.
-
I do enjoy indie games, but Idk how I feel about Cuphead. Also, I don't see Microsoft impressing me with Cuphead as the face of Xbox 2017 even if it is a good game. Sea of Thieves seems promising. My concern is that with how little they've shown of the game, is there gonna be strong PvE gameplay? I haven't played much PvP in the past two years, and I won't be getting Sea of Thieves if it's mostly PvP. Crackdown 3 looked decent, but I could see it end up being a tech demo for Project Scorpio and Azure's cloud-computing. I look at PlayStation and see Crash Bandicoot, Horizon Zero Dawn, and NieR: Automata. Then, I look at Xbox and see nothing concrete, Sea of Thieves at best. PS4 games might be all single player, but they're solid games. Third party games are great, but I can play them on either console and now prefer them on PS4 thanks to PS4 Pro. If all my friends weren't on Xbox, it would probably start collecting dust after Destiny 2 launched and I switched over.
-
Well, they also said they got some "unannounced experiences" on top of what they have announced for 2017. I'm hoping those "experiences" mean games and not other way for everyone to experience the console/win10. It worries me that Phil used the term "experiences" instead of games when trying to dampen the fires of scale bounds cancelation.

Crackdown 3 Sea of Thieves Halo Wars 2 Halo 3: Anniversary Forza Horizon 7 There is my guess on Xbox's 2017 entire heavy hitter list. Depressing at best... Unless they cram an overclocked Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti into Scorpio and sell it for $400, I don't see them doing much of anything. I'd gladly welcome some news to prove me wrong, but I doubt it. Maybe Microsoft is secretly porting WoW to XB1 or working on 5 or 6 holiday 2017 exclusives with in house studios lol. Oh, but all those studios must be working to remaster Halo 3. Last I checked, 343i can't port games... At least the XB1S was still a great value thanks to the 4K Blu Ray player.
-
We will see in just a short five months lol.
-
All about that E3! I remember reading about Scorpio leaks and thinking they were BS. I shed a tear when they announced that beautiful monster was real last E3. I'm just hoping they have something to announce other than some new feature, stream service, or UI refresh.
-
Halo 3 anniversary has not been announced, even if it was, I'm not interested. I agree about Scorpio, Scalebound was a title I would have got it for, but I'm not buying it just to play old titles at a higher res, there needs to be new stuff.
-
Heeeeey, I want Crackdown 3.
-
Crackdown 3 is apparently also in a bad situation.
-
Lameass was more directed toward H3. Crackdown is somewhat interesting, but will likely being mediocre... On the off-chance that it revolutionizes gaming via the use of cloud computing in gaming, I'll play it too lol.
-
Yeah, I'm not too keen on a Halo 3: Anniversary either. Crackdown 3 I'm very interested in because it seems to be going back to the same gameplay style the first game offered, which I used to play a ton. Crackdown 2 offered really nothing exciting at all.

Microsoft has really been screwing the pooch as of late.
