Destiny Changes to Exotics and Quests to make it Epic!

Hi Everyone, I've been playing destiny since the beta and am still a huge fan although i kind of hate the way its been diluted in the recent years to make everything super easy. I know they have struggled with resourcing since they had to extend a year they weren't expecting but here are a few things i think they should put back to really improve it! Exotic Quests Make them difficult again! I completely understand the quest based system, it works really well and makes weapons achievable with an end goal. What i don't like is how easy they are to obtain. This feeds in to the overall feeling of Exotics being easy to get and also not being exciting anymore. The old invective and Thorn quests were interesting and required ALOT of work to get, but you felt like you were aiming towards something. The newest quest for Nova Mortis was a bit of a Joke in comparison, same for the "new" gjallahorn. They were so quick to complete they didn't feel valuable when you got them. If something takes me 30 hours to work towards when i get it it becomes valuable and requires work, its an exotic for crying out loud, its supposed to take effort! Nightfall The nightfall has also taken a turn for the worse, in yr 1 i would check on reset with excitement to see what the nightfall would be, my clan-mates would start to plan the best load-outs with elemental primary's "earnt" from the RAIDs, then if you all died you would get sent back to orbit. The result at the end was exotics (which were much harder to obtain, see above) and genuine excitement when they dropped! It was a challenge and you felt everything you got was hard earned, now if you die you wait 30 seconds and respawn! Exotic weapons Both of the above lead me into the biggest issue which is exotics. Exotics are simply just too easy to obtain! Three of Coins make doing the nightfall pointless as you can just play crucible and get them dropped! I much prefer the old days of random exotic drops in crucible matches, and having to do raids and nightfalls to "earn" them. They need to feel special and at the moment they just don't. No one has a story anymore of hearing grown men scream when an ice breaker dropped in crota, or massive smiles when a fatebringer dropped for someone who didn't have it! Because elemental primary's are gone and Exotics are so easy to obtain there's nothing special anymore. What story do i have for obtaining telesto? "Oh i got it from an engram when i killed a strike boss" there's no story attached!? or excitement anymore! In Conclusion i love this game, but making things easy just dilutes the excitement. I know i can get the exotics these days by just popping three of coins, so there's no need to raid, no need to nightfall, and the raid weapons are never good enough to want me to do it over again?! Year 1 i raided loads of times to try and get Fatebringer, then again lots of time to try and get Word of Crota or abyss defiant! At the moment, there's no point to me raiding or nighfalling as i've already got better legendary's with better perks? Making Exotics harder to obtain, and bringing back elemental primary's would go a huge way to making the game for exciting again, making getting things easier decreases there worth, which decreases overall playtime! Let me know what you think, Happy New Year All!
I feel like we need to have some exotic quests as hard as year one invective/ thorn, but others as easy as gjallarhorn. This makes it so casuals (like myself) can get some sweet exotics like gjally, sleeper, and tlaloc, yet only really hardcore players can acquire the thorn, chaperone, and other similar weapons. Personally, I really enjoy the current variety in exotic quest difficulty. I believe that sending players back to orbit makes nightfalls way too tedious because of the loading screens. Sending 'em to the start makes it a challenge, yet not horribly time consuming. Elemental primaries are a whole nother topic. (Just fyi, i'm for elemental primaries to a point) I agree with you on the fact that exotics should always drop from nightfalls. I've only done a couple, but i would hate it if i did one, only to get strange coins/three of coins/crap roll legendary. Gotta say, you seem like a really good player, and for people at your level, lower drop rates would make the game more fun. But on the contrary, people like my friends and I would suffer, because exotics would never drop. (Some, including me simply dont play enough to farm endless exotics.) While it is true that it is possible to get exotics from crucible, it's inconsistent, versus the nightfall which (should) always award an exotic. Furthermore, while i understand the excitement of acquiring a super rare gun, think of the other 99% of the time, when you get nothing good. The new raid weapons have unique perks, and are much more unique than the king's fall weapons. I am for the return of elemental primaries, but i can also see why bungie's so scared of em. Happy new year. And thanks for the food for thought.
