Name: Onslaught of the Empire
[Add what you wish below. All additions will be appropriated to fit in the post]
Objective: Defend the Last City against the entirety of the Cabal Empire
Detail: The Cabal Empire has responded to the distress signal sent out during the time of Oryx in full force. The Emperor himself has brought his Royal Fleet, consisting of a new enemy type, the Imperious, into our Solar System, determined to eliminate the only threat to his throne. The Traveler. His method? Planetary destruction in the form of a Gravity Cannon mounted on the Imperial Freighter the Emperor himself pilots. If it reaches Earth, we are surely doomed...
Phase 1: Establish a Trench against the waves of Cabal forces gathering beyond the Wall
1. Fight against waves of ground troops (Phalanxes, Legionnaires, Centurions) and maintain the line
Details: Thousands of Cabal soldiers attack the Trench, pushing hard against every Front
1A. Defeat Imperious Ka'Rai (similar to the final phase of the Shield Brothers yet the mortar shots leave a massive poison radius behind)
Details: After breaking Imperious Ka'Rai's Mortar, strange looking Psions appear on the battlefield, distorting the ground around them, compressing it. They gather together. The ground around you begins to shake, separate, and lift off the ground as a humming sound begins to generate from them. Could this be the power of the Imperial Freighter's Cannon, but on a smaller scale?
1B. Fall back to the Cosmodrome wall due to the Imperian Psions (continuously increasing the gravity around you, weighing you down like the beginning of Crota's End)
Details: Unable to find a way to combat the Gravitational power of the Psoins, Lord Shaxx comes in over coms, calling for a retreat on all fronts. You and your fireteam hop onto your sparrows, trying to escape the ever expanding gravity field.

2 RepliesI'd really enjoy a Cabal raid to utilize roles more. Because odds are, when we get a Cabal raid, it'll be to kill their Emperor and probably his inner circle. What I mean is, to split up the classes in the raid into roles befitting the lore. Hunters being stealthy would serve as assassins; killing high value targets. Warlocks would be intelligence gatherers; funneling information to the Hunters so that they may find their targets. Titans would be the defense; fighting waves of enemies to keep them off the Warlocks and Hunters. Each team would have their own bosses to contend with, and at some point, the three teams of two would converge together to fight the Emperor.

Would be too challenging for most followed by endless bitching.
-
Like a Cabal raid
duh
-
Ooh hey this would be a great reason for them to finally employ fighter battles. One section of raid is for the fireteam to blast and dodge their way through a capital ship's defenses. Next is the boarding action. Already making me nostalgic for Reach and Halo 3.
-
I'd just like a giant tank chase while we are on sparrows.

I think, if bungie did it right, a cabal raid could be amazing. And it wouldn't just be a load of identical rocket swarming bullet sponges. We've already seen some variation in the Cabal: Valus Trau'ug with his special shields and the Bond Brothers with their special weapons. And we haven't seen the full force of the empire, there still could be some weird and wonderful commanders out there with unique abilities.
-
5 RepliesI just imagine a wall of Phalanxes marching toward your team like 300.
-
2 Replies*guardian down* "How did you die?" "Got cabal launched to orbit" "Oh ok lol" Pretty much how I imagine it 🤔 Jokes aside, idk.. like cabals running at you with a tank? Or a space battle
-
4 RepliesI know what a Cabal raid would look like! Remember when we were doing Skolas and we had to huddle on the left wall behind the thing during the Cabal fight and we couldn't even see anything cause there were so many rockets and we wiped like 80 times on arc burn week?! Yeah. That's it. That's the image.
-
Also a jumping puzzle with 5 phalanxes on each platform
-
I have always thought about a plot twist where the Psions aren't slaves, but actually control the cabal forces. I think this would open up so much potential for story and for the raid. Super powerful Psion as final boss controlling waves of cabal would be amazing.
-
1 ReplyA bit early for McEmperor himself to show up don't ya think
-
1 ReplyJust gimme dat cabal raid armor....
-
A space pirates almost wiped us out if not for the queen's intervention, and now a -blam!-ing militaristic empire is about to attack you!
-
I swear if they'd have guardians kill the Emperor... Just retarded
-
1 ReplyMy idea is that we get to ride on a huge ass cabal tank thingy (I'm sure they have plenty) and -blam!-ing obliterate everything until you reach the throne room, but on the way there, you have to put out fires on the tank and repair and stuff. The final battle is some random overused raid mechanic and the only way to beat it is to buy the 27$ DLC because activision.

1 ReplyEdited by doublebbs9395: 12/31/2016 1:33:37 AMSun swallowing cannon? You mean Starkiller Base
-
2 RepliesI feel like the Emperor's freighter would be heavily guarded by other warships, and that you'd have to board one and kill it's two head gunners (in a miniboss where one shoots at you from a gun mounted on the ceiling while the other chases you similar to the way Ma'aul did) before the captain of the ship notices and attacks you (in a boss fight that revolves around him being invulnerable until he's distracted by a barrage of gunfire from the ceiling turret, so other guardians can take his shield down - making him vulnerable). After taking out the captain you cease the ship, destroying the ships guarding the Royal freighter so you can board it.
-
2 RepliesOnly see one problem with this. This weapon of mass destruction is a sun swallowing canon (?), and that reaching Earth would doom us all. So why have the fight be on Earth? Wouldn't they have already won?
-
5 RepliesWe're lead to believe that the Cabal are a militarily advanced race. Bringing their Emperor right to us would be the worst move that they could possibly make. Plus, the Cabal are spread out across many galaxies. I'm not too sure how much he'd personally care that a single Cabal unit was having trouble.
-
2 RepliesFire.. fire everywhere. Plus explosions a lot of explosions.
-
It be a ship made of shields... that fire rockets at all times Rocket shields
-
Well placed idea... The cabal offer a lot to make the raid change from a larger strike to deeper mechanics with a tough boss like spoons as well... Perhaps make a more nimble boss fight rather than the simple yet team oriented mechanics. Perhaps one player mat kite the boss into a debuff area to take down shield and everyone must be moving during such a phase, but the boss itself is like Cell with different stages and become more nimble per stage... Perhaps the final boos could have this type of phasing but you know where we are going
-
1 ReplyInfiltrate and fight through a fleet of Cabal ships, passing through damaged ships exposed to the vacuum of space, float your way from ship to ship like levels to get to a battle station where you throw-down with a Cabal leader equipped with a huge battle exoskeleton. Cabal don't have "magic" like the Hive, so all military tech is over-the-top and powerful.
-
I love this idea
-
1 ReplyRows of Phalanxes closely followed by Legionaires, Colossi, and Centurions with the commander in the middle launching missles. A Cabal raid in the future should have a huge open area where this happens as a timed event, the goal is to get to a narrow trench and fight off the army while the exit is being prepped.
