Welcome to my first post of The Eliksni series, this post we will be analyzing the biology and the core ideology of the fallen and how they perform a certain type of metamorphosis.
The Eliksni are insectoid looking creatures, they consist of four arms and two legs. They have equal control over these limbs, not to mention these limbs are quite strong. The head of the Eliksni is not seen often as they wear mechanized helmets, but the most distinctive feature is the four glowing eyes. And that their mouths are filled with sharp teeth. Not to include they have Mandibles, making them more insect like.
Let's move onto the life force of the Eliksni, Ether. Ether is a whitish and blueish fluid formed from organic material. Ether is found naturally on their homeworld but due to the lack of Ether on Luna, Venus, and Earth they are forced to transform organic material and turn it into Ether using a unspecified process that Servitors perform. Many guardians confuse the sudden outburst of Ether from the body of a decapitated Eliksni as their soul. Though ether is also not the only substance in the body. As purple-like-blood also flows.
Now, Eliksni are similar to humans in a manner where they breath and grow naturally, with body hair also growing on their heads and well body! Their homeworld is humid and fit for them. Due to difficult and unstable breathing conditions on earth for their race they resort to a built in apparatus in their helmets to pump customized air.
While the average dreg is puny to a full sized adult Eliksni, (Now known as a kell, as they consume that much ether only.) If dregs were to consume a sizable amount of Ether and be freed from physical restraints they would grow. Fallen dreg limbs grow at a interesting rate and are usually capped so they do not grow as punishment for their uselessness.
As Humans we were not able to properly dissect and perform experiments on a living Eliksni adult so we are limited in knowledge such as reproduction, infant growth, and such more . But with the help of the guardian hope arises as we might have a chance to explore more anatomical parts of the Eliksni body.
I hope you enjoyed my first post about the race of Eliksni, more will come involving houses, vehicles, splicers, weapons, and more!

Very good post. Afaik there is no mention in the lore of female (male/female may be interchangable as some species can and regulalry do swap gender as and when needed) Eliksni so little can be gleaned about reproductive capacities however we can deduce that only those of sufficent rank would be allowed to mate and produce offspring. If the insect analogy is followed then a "Queen" is a possibility (think Aliens Queen and then worry) as an egg laying machine would quickly replace the high casualty numbers inflicted. Another possibility would be cloning.

Will you please stop shooting us in the face now?

Very good post! Thank you for taking the time to write this up, I enjoyed reading it.
-
Great job guardian now I know more ways of killing them when I go on patrol
-
This almost seems like fate, man. I just made a post about wanting to gather as much information about Fallen as I can. And here come, with the firstin a series! It seems like fate! Almost like...
Destiny XD
Bump! Great post!
-
Why don't we just (oh god) ask Variks?
-
There's a post someone did a while back about what Ether either is or could be. Has something to do with forming protein chains or something.
-
So we have yet to know if they have reproductive organs... This is a problem that our top scientists need to get on immediately!

In certain areas in the Plaguelands, you can find staffs with skulls on top of them. These are used for the quarantine patrol missions and most have human skulls. However, one in particular inside a cave in the Archon's Keep features an Eliksni skull. Just thought that might help out in biology terms because you can get a really good look at it.

Pretty bloody sweet post mate.
-
Awesome post!
-
Their infantile spawn are decreasing rapidly, as we've killed off almost all of their sources of ether.
-
There is one question that everyone may be wondering...Do they have nipples?
-
This is good. Can you do it for the other species?
-
Now THIS, was amazing
-
They also have mandibles, might want to add that.

Enjoyable read.
