So with all these high profile games that have come out this year, and ones still on the verge of release, I just cant seem to get suoer excited about them like I used to.
Don't get me wrong, I've played the uncharteds, overwatch, halos, ffxv, tlg, inside, witness, and some lesser mainstream ones as well. All good games and worthy of praise, but none have gotten me excited like I used to get for certain games I've been waiting for.
Been looking back at my gaming past and find myself keep looking and playing more and more of FFT and Tactics Ogre:LUCT.
I can't help but think there really hasn't been any games like those two. Sure there has been other turn based strategy games, but none have the same story and systems captivation that those two games had. And they are two generations old now and there hasn't been anything like them.
So then I look and think about the recent rereleased/reboots/remasters. Most unwanted or unnecessary, but then there's those two treasures jist sitting there begging to be brought back to life or have a sequel to be made, and yet they are just sat on while others are being plucked around them to be remade/mastered.
So my question is, does anyone else feel the same, or would want a new FFT/Tactics Ogre? Or at the very least remaster the two for the current generation (by which i mean leave the story, sprites, and systems untouched but just spruce up visuals and sound and localization in FFTs case).

1 ReplyIf you like turn based games, you might want to get a 3ds. There's very solid turn based options like pokemon sun and moon and fire emblem.

1 ReplyI hate turn based combat. It all feels so similar and it's all trash to me these days.

1 ReplyMaybe because gaming is for kids and you're not a kid anymore?

1 ReplyI hate turn-based combat, so I disagree. Although I don't get as hyped like I used too, I was really excited for Dark Souls 3 and Titanfall 2.

6 RepliesSad reality really is, games don't fulfill us. We can play and own HUNDREDS, but it doesn't make us happy, if anything, we spend more time finding faults in the games regardless of what we play. I've been feeling that way way for a while now, and it's finally helped me not obsess like a hype train passenger over games. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE gaming, but it doesn't fulfill your life.

I see how you feel, but I'm playing since DooM and there are still games that I'm really excited about.

6 RepliesFFT doesn't need a remaster, it's fine as it is. If we got one with HD sprites and textures I wouldn't complain, but it's not necessary. I would absolutely LOVE a sequel or spiritual successor though. I tried Disgaea but didn't really like the the way they did turns or classes so it failed to scratch that itch. Tactics Advance was OK, but I couldn't get into the plot and the fact that the map couldn't rotate made me feel like positioning wasn't as big a factor (just go to the top of the map for best results).
