My issue with all this revamping strikes is that if we kill omnigul and she can undo her death, why not crota or oryx? If nexus mind can be rebuilt and continue its job, why not atheon? I'm not complaining of new strikes at all. I've enjoyed all of them and glad the playlist has variety now. But lore wise, what's the point if all our enemies can just come back in an instant?

Probably all April update stuff, Taken Crota, Siva VOG and dunno what Oryx would be.
-
Well Oryx already took himself, and although this completely -blam!-s over all lore regarding the Hive and the Worms, he could just come back as a super Echo/Shade.
-
Atheon is the center of timelines meaning that there was only 1 Atheon across all timelines
-
The thing with crota is that we tore him apart and killed every part of him, destroying his body in his throne world. Oryx we forced into a retreat and had his worm consume him in his throne world. With the Nexus there was mention of the Vex bringing in tech from the Vault of Glass where they have the ability to control time. So they could have pulled the Nexus through time from another time line. Can't really explain the Aegis being there though.

Hive do not die unless they are killed in their throne world, with the exception of death singers which is why we see ir yut in the stealth mission We killed omnigul yes, but she counts as a death singer (I think) so she can just come back to life. And even if she is not a death singer, we did not kill her in a throne world. On that note, does that mean we should expect to see the daughters again? Probably not in destiny 1, maybe destiny 2

Simple explanation: Its a video game
-
Thays not an explanation
-
Because we killed them in their throne world which is the only place they can be ultimately killed. It ties in with the sword logic. Oryx believed if he was beaten then he deserved to be beaten. So he made a very complex but attainable way to ultimately destroy him. This is because the sword logic states that the strong will remain and must continue to. That the ultimate goal is to be.

The restorative mind obviously revived the nexus.
-
I read somewhere that, because Omnigul's purpose is to resurrect crota (and because we blew him to bits in crystal form before he could be fully resurrected) she could plausibly revive until her purpose is completed. I have only a tenuous knowledge of the books of sorrow, but the guy that originally posted the theory cited a precedent in them

i dont like how all revamped strikes are splicer/SIVA based. And how all ones before that were Taken. They could revamp while keeping the same theme.
-
But the only one revamped with taken was Archons Forge strike and the new Malok one. The rest was just added enemies for the theme. I like the SIVA much better and it fits, especially with the Hive and Fallen. But... why didn't they redo Archons Forge, again, into SIVA? Or a Taken-SIVA since the enemy in that was Fallen before it's revamp
-
I like to think of it the more powerful the dead enemy is the more power needed to revive them. Making super powerful beings like onyx almost impossible to revive. But it would make a great plot for a later raid. A great power has revived them and I. The raid some of the old bosses show up but weaker and very different to avoid a response.

Oryx and Crota were killed in their throne world, now some hive can be reborn with sacrifices of lesser hive but the one sure way to truly kill a hive is to do it in their throne room
-
Because you need to wait till April for them to be reborn. Time gated resurrections
-
-
Because Crota and Oryx were killed in their throne worlds, where they die definitely,if we did so with Omnigul, she wouldn't have come back Atheon was killed in all the timelines he existed, meaning he can't come back
-
It's mainly about the places they were killed in. Atheon is a good example. We killed him in our timeline but time in the Vault is everything and nothing, he could easily transport from another timeline where the Taken took over the Vault of Glass. The Devil Splicers have some experience from experimenting on the Hive, it would make sense for them to pull something out of Crota's End, not only that but if there wasn't a way for Crota to return then Omnigul wouldn't be alive again. Taniks could have been saved by SIVA the same way that Sepiks was. Now I don't know about Skolas, we straight up just beat him with a stick until he died (that stick being Gjallarhorn). I don't know how SIVA might make an appearance in the Reef but I'd rather have a better explanation for why he might come back.

plz no
-
There can be only yes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I've always had the theory since the opening sequence of different timelines. I also say the first time completing a strike is the actual event, where running them in a strike list is like a training simulation. That's just me though.
-
Danger room heroic play list would sound nice

Edited by Daemon Jaeger13: 12/17/2016 7:01:04 PMHas something to do with where we killed them...some alternative world of sorts. In those worlds their death is final. I think in taken king it's mentioned after you fight oryx in the campaign.
-
What you said is why everybody is hoping bungie will bring back the old raids... omnigul brings back crota and the vex restore atheon. Taniks is back so why not skolas.
