Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Discussion! Spoilers!
Have you seen Star Wars: Rogue One? What did you think? What would you rate it? This thread will undoubtedly be full of spoilers, but use the spoiler tag if you want to. Here's an example of how to use it.

22 RepliesEdited by Alpha alt 3: 12/16/2016 7:32:35 AMThis was just plain epic. -Hammerhead ramming into the Star Destroyer +Star Destroyer cleaving another in half -That Vader scene -The fear the rebels had seeing the AT-ATs -Everyone died! -C3PO and R2 cameo -The mention of Hera and seeing the [i]Ghost[/i] -Blue milk -Pando Baba -Seeing the planets slowly get destroyed -Krennic's confrontation with Tarkin -Seeing the X-wing pilots from ANH brought back -The sheer scale of the ground and air battle on Scarif (explains why the Rebelz had so little forces for the Death Star attack) -reference to Obi Wan -It looked like the guy talking to Vader while he was in the bacta was one of the Imperial Advisors (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Advisor) -Those 2 stormtroopers talking about obsolete T-15s. I think they were talking about skyhoppers. Could be wrong. -All the new species! -I loved how quickly the story got started -Im interested in seeing more of that trading outpost on the asteroid. Started with a 'w' -It was great how Cassian had to make some tough decisions and wasn't completely perfect morally. -The -blam!-ING JUGGERNAUT!!! -TIE Striker! [b]I didn't like:[/b] -Leia's CG -What was Leia doing there during the battle? -The title shortly after the beginning of the movie was weird. The font and the music felt off, plus I hate when titles are put a little bit into the movie -The music didn't strike me that much. But I said the same thing with TFA until I watched it a few more times and started listening to the songs on Youtube -Vader's voice felt off Something I just saw on Reddit: Wobani is an anagram for Obi Wan

The new ranking of Star Wars movies for me is: The Clone Wars (Worst) Attack of the Clones Holiday Special (Truly unforgettable if you know what I mean) Return of the Jedi The Phantom Menace The Empire Strikes Back Rogue One Revenge of the Sith A New Hope The Force Awakens (Best)

And I LOVE it.[/spoiler] [spoiler]Both are prequels to the original media of the series. In both, all main characters die fulfilling the mission. Both involve a single vital ship escaping a super weapon destroying a planet/base, but no main characters escape on it. Both feature major destruction in large population centers following the main characters by a frickin' space laser. Both directly and immediately bridge to the original media of the series. There's so much more. [/spoiler]

1 ReplyI knew that all the main characters had to die to make it a big sacrifice for Episode IV. But I was worried that they would just make some crap, long-drawn out death scenes. In the end I was honestly blown away by the deaths. Each one was masterfully done, made perfect sense and was also really emotionally harrowing. Jyn and Cassian making it to the beach and holding hands while the Death Star fired on them nearly brought me to tears.

I liked it a lot. I liked it much better than TFA. Some people also don't seem to understand that this movie is kind of a stand alone movie from the other Star Wars movies.

1 ReplyEdited by Vgnut: 12/19/2016 1:59:20 AMI thought it was really good. I'd rank it a bit below TFA and RotJ and waaaay above RotS. Putting it next to Empire is crazy talk. Loved how it tied into ANH. And it did what so few prequels do: Enhances the other movies while also being good. The Vader stuff was tremendous. I would go for a standalone Vader movie that delves into the character and makes up for the PT. I'd certainly go for it over the idea of the Young Han Solo movie which I think is a stupid, stupid idea.

3 RepliesI thought it was incredible. I loved all the tie ins to the prequels such as showing a Clone Turbo Tank, and I loved how well they did with tying it in to the original trilogy. The only things I really didn't like was the lack of an opening crawl and the music they used. It didn't really feel like Star Wars. All in all, I give it a 9/10. It was a very, very good movie. A lot better than I expected it to be too.

1 ReplyIt might just be my favorite Star wars honestly. -I liked every member of Rogue One -Humor was on point -Right amount of action -Not a single part felt like it dragged on -Vader scene at the end -movie went so perfect to the start of episode IV Empire Strikes back has some competition now. I highly recommend watching it, especially if you're a star wars fan

2 RepliesJust got home from watching it: [spoiler] Pros: Visuals Amazing explosions and ship destruction, it felt like a Star Citizen tech demo Well developed secondary characters Cons: Tarkin's CGI wuz baddddd Killing all the main characters Storm troopers still can't shoot straight unless they are hitting another storm trooper being used as a human shield Some of the scenes where Jyn was making her climb to the top of the structure were boring and generic [/spoiler] Overall, good movie. One question for lore buffs: [spoiler]When the two storm troopers are chatting before being ambushed, one says "I heard they are finally replacing the T15's" What does this mean???[/spoiler]

9 RepliesAs much as I enjoyed it, I was actually a bit disappointed to be honest... admittedly it did do what I thought it wouldn't... [spoiler]kill off all our heroes despite merch needing to be sold and such...[/spoiler] But with the 2 main theories about the ending, it just kinda ruined it a little for me... We could have had either of 2 epic endings and yet just got that... We could have had Jin end up as darth vaders wingman at the battle of the Death Star and then sacrifice herself to save Luke by crashing herself into vaders tie fighter (cuz come on, Han only shot one tie fighter and then the other just randomly flipped out, out of nowhere...) Or we could have had each character get captured by Vader and turned to the dark side to become the knights of Ren... that would have been so awesome and yet here we are...
