Well, it was risky trying to engage a Titan at close range with a primary. Unless I have room to dodge and weave, I wouldn't go for that strategy. That's where a good sidearm, shotgun or fusion rifle would be needed. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?
I don't agree with your CoD comment. I'm a LONG time CoD player and this game is not like it. Thank, God.
What Crucible mode do you play the most? I notice that the modes also affect how the game is played. I play solo in a lot of 6v6 modes, and I don't have the same experience that a heavy Trials player would have. That's probably why I don't have a problem with the current meta. That makes it harder for Bungie to tweak the meta in a way that will please most people.

It is only a risk in THIS game....because the game's primaries are so weak. In every other shooter I've played, he'd have paid the price for losing situational awareness that badly...and would have been dead before he even realized I was there. Bottomline, is that the fight took place at the distance that most auto rifle gunfights do....and I made the mistake of thinking that (because I did catch him so completely by surprise) that I would have time to finish him off. Clearly I was wrong....and thumb skill (and a fully-charged super) trumps mind skill As for play modes, the meta is the meta. I play mainly 6s...and Clever Dragon, Palindrome, Eyasluna and Matador dominate there as well. Its just that you see more snipers and fusion rifles in 6s, than you'd likely see in Trials.
