Strike idea: Last array Redux

This idea ought to make some year one fans happy. Okay, so this strike is basically a remade version of the last array, a coveted mission by most year one players (I think). Here is how the strike begins. Rasputin has lost control of the Array, thanks to the splicers. Three players will spawn in the first building in sky watch. They must fight through the hive and splicers to reach sky watch. There will be two waves of enemies inside the building This version of sky watch will be very snowy like everywhere else. In order to proceed, 4 SIVA nodes must be destroyed to open a door. Each node will spawn in different areas. Fallen pikes or hive ogres will be in your way. When they reach the control room, either regular fallen, splicers, or hive will try to attack you. You activate the console to bring the array back online and you must defend the room from almost infinite splicer dregs and vandals for 2 minutes. When this fight begins the music (convincingly enough, the Last Array music) will start. At the heavier crescendo of the music the boss will appear. A giant fallen captain named Sarviks the Hope Stealer will spawn and attack. To prevent campers, the boss will teleport both indoors and outdoors periodically. To make sure he does to glitch out, the giant circle thing in the control roll must be removed, like it was torn down for metal. Three Siva nodes will spawn in random places during the fight and if you destroy them within 30 seconds of their spawn, your team will receive the buff "Boundless light" for 10 seconds. This will decrease the cool down of supers dramatically. If you fail to, your fire team will be suppressed for 15 seconds and the SIVA node will destroy its self. The heroic part of the Soundtrack will play after you destroy a node. The SIVA nodes will spawn every 1:30's. Adds will spawn in three times based on the bosses health, and consist of dregs, normal splicer shanks, and vandals. Repeat this process until Sarviks. is dead. The skeleton chest thing will spawn right near the edge of the cliff. REMEMBER: this is just an idea. Something to play around with. Give some year one players the Last Array all over again. Strike dialogue: [spoiler]*Entering from orbit* Shiro: I've gotten words that the splicers have realized that Rasputin is using the Array. They've decided to try and take it over to spread siva all across the system. Stop them, and free the Array. *Entering the first building* Ghost: I'm detecting large concentrations of hive and fallen up ahead. Shiro: Don't let them stop you. Mow them down. *After fight* Ghost: The Array just went dark. We need to hurry! *Before boss fight* Ghost: Um, shiro, we need help. Like right now!! Shiro: I can't. Air support is cut off. You're in your own! *Boss appears* Shiro: Take him down before he use the array! *After boss dies* Shiro: Good work. I can see why Cayde has listed you as his #1 guardian. Come on home.             I was so busy shooting ads like my life depended on it for the original(very Underleved) and so i actually didn't even look up at the Array, and i was busy finding a cheese spot when there was a clearing. It was nice to go back and experience it again on my second Hunter.

                That was by far my favorite mission of all time. In vanilla before I had psn online I would just chill in the sky watch, but I didn't know how to get there, so I just kept loading up the last array. also the music at the end is awesome.

              • What we really need is strikes that aren't the same things we've done over and over and over. That's part of the biggest issue of the game which is the horrible, tedious grind. Like the node/buff idea but would be better in an area that we haven't spent 20 hours in grinding those horrible strikes as it is.

                  This was the only good year 1 mission I can remember Also, I think it might be cool, if you spawned in the area where the ogre spawns, there's doors down there, so maybe a new room to spawn in

                          • I'd like it if you could get inside the array cause the sivas have been fannying about in there growing nodes and stuff that are interfering with the uplink console, possibly played as the ghost so you can fly about.

                            For a fan strike this isn't bad dear, most go way too convoluted with mechanics that are more raid like.
