Each person is welcome to their opinions, but there are times when I just don't want to see certain beat-to-death topics (that's [i]my[/i] opinion). The idea could even be valid, I just don't care to participate. Like when the flood of SBMM topics came in, all I wanted to do was find other topics, but I couldn't due to the volume. I had no problem with the message being sent. It's clear that it's a hot topic. But I wanted to be able to mute those authors so I could see the rest of the forum. Actually, an alternative would be a "Hide Topic" button. That's probably better, as I can count on one hand the number of people I actually want to mute.
