  • Glad to hear that. I'm curious though, what's your take on the end cut scene of the Taken King with Eris and how that might apply to her time in the Pit.

  • I think that the "whispers" she mentions have to do with the fact that the Hive Hierarchy has basically been defeated. The whispers may be related to the orb which she carries around, which has a connection to the Hive, or even the Darkness itself, or they may auditory hallucinations of her lost companions. In other words, the last remnant of her time in the pit is gone. Mostly, I think it emphasizes that Eris's sole goal is now to oppose the Hive - at any and all cost.

  • Interesting, thanks for the reply. Although it seemed that her "Queen" would be the Awoken Queen and that her mission would be that she would not fail to destroy the Hive, I couldn't help but wonder if there was perhaps something more to it. For example, her Queen possibly being one of Oryx's sisters and that her mission may be to pave the way for her return by destroying Oryx and his forces. I'm no lore master by any means, but the end cut scene struck me as there is more to her story and perhaps all is not what it seems.

  • Hm. I personally think that the Queen simply refers to the Awoken Queen. I don't see us interacting with Oryx's sisters any time in the near future. Furthermore, Eris probably wouldn't want one of the sisters in our system, as they are just as dedicated to the Sword Logic and the Darkness as Oryx was - they'd be far more likely to kill us than to help us. If anything, we'll be fighting them. But since Destiny 2's main story likely revolves around the Cabal Empire, we won't be seeing anything of them there. After that, the next Hive storyline will probably revolve around Nokris - the Hive deity enshrined alongside Crota and Oryx. This means that we won't see the sisters until year 5 at the earliest. However, you're probably right that there's far more to the final cutscene than meets the eye. It doesn't feel like a resolution of conflict so much as a set up. What that set up could be for, I'm not entirely sure. But clearly, there's a lot of unanswered questions about Mara Sov that may have something to do with that.

It did feel like a set up, good observation. It's funny, after running some strikes, particularly the Dark Blade, and hearing the narration, I couldn't help but think of your story as the canonical history behind it. Again, well done!
