This is due to two primary reasons: Bomb damage doing significantly less to players, and the other most important reason: Touch of Malice keeps Oryx's chest "open" longer than normal weapons. Keeping his chest open longer means that if you do a certain amount of damage, his chest will remain "open" longer for the bombs to actually hit him and do damage (it's a fairly high threshold though). So overall, you no longer require perfect timing on shooting Oryx to keep his chest open while swapping to sword and detonating bombs. It also gives a lot more leeway with damage taken now, making the solo entirely possible. This has been "theoretically" possible in TTK, however back then the timing was much tighter and bomb damage obviously higher. The biggest issue before was keeping his chest open longer for the bombs to do damage while sword blocking. We knew a while back that Sleeper Simulant kept his chest open for ~4 seconds after hitting it, and the same with Celestial Golden Gun. Neither of which were realistic for use on a Titan (you don't have GG obviously, and can't swap from Sleeper to Sword in .5s / heavy ammo restrictions). But now that Touch of Malice does the job, it has become significantly easier. This ended up taking me about 1-2 hours on normal mode to get it - I practiced a little on Hard Mode prior as I couldn't get a NM checkpoint. Hard Mode is where the real challenge is at though! His chest doesn't stay open as long (requires you to do more ToM damage) and Knights mess up your overshield all the time - basically timing is a lot more brutal and damage taken is rough too.
