I just don't think we should have "winner takes all" states. Texas will always go red, California and New York will always go blue. Everybody who votes otherwise in those states are pretty much -blam!-ed.

Texas use to go blue and has been slowly creeping that way again. All It's going to take are some investments in Florida or Texas to bring in more jobs and more educated people and either one or both of those States will go Democrat. There is really an uncanny correlation between education level and which party you vote for. Same with age. The young and educated almost always vote D and the old and ignorant almost always vote R

  •
The poor vote democrat and everyone else votes republican More welfare = bluer
This is honestly the last thing I consider. It's all about the tax plans. Trump tax plan is terrible for the middle and lower class. It's all so terrible for the long term of the US economy. Basically it's a fast growth strategy in the short-term with no long-term strategy to keep those means in place

Did you read the numbers? There's going to be a tax hike for many who make under $75,000. With the loss of so many deductions the numbers just don't add up. Even more concerning is there is at least a 13% tax cut for the wealthiest of the wealthy. That's where the majority of tax cuts are. Why do you guys want this? Google Trump tax plan and look at the numbers And for the love of God do not read a news story do your own math off what is published

  • Correct yourself and look at the big picture Which group has the hardest time? Single parent households. He's trying to destroy the advantageous nature of breaking up families which causes crime, death, suffering and the degradation of the black community. Do you believe that the US should encourage or discourage the 70% divorce rate?

What does this have to do with the tax rate? Our social system is the reason we have a high divorce rate. Reality TV people consumed in consumerism. The lack of family structure that is continuing. The number one and two reasons are probably lack of education and the number of hours required it takes in work to make ends meet. It used to be a single man could work a full-time job and support a family. Now it takes a college degree to make that happen in most cases. Not to get off track but tax increases in general are what I'm seeing with Trump and on top of that I'm seeing a lot of liberal programs being cut so again what are we really getting besides some of you following your God? So far all of your replies have just been basically religious. There's no fact there is just following your carrot God I mean if you guys think tax hikes or so good for the family why were so many of the people on the right complaining when Obama raised taxes from the Bush Administration which only hit the top tier of earners?

  • What are you even talking about? The tax rate is lowered on all groups, the lowest subset is exempt and married couples get a bigger tax cut Have YOU actually read the tax plan?

yep, getting rid of standard deductions and things many of us write off will not make up for the modest lowering in base tax rate. there is a shopping list of deductions many of us use. on top of that the very poorest had their base rate go from 10% to 12% meanwhile the corporate rate went from 35% to 15%. that means multi billion dollar coprs will pay 3% more on base than a mc donalds worker. and you people support this?

  • And everyone making more than 15k won't pay that 12%. Right now 9k+ pays 10%, all others pay more. So your point is based off of a half-reading of the tax policy and he is consolidating deductions so it's less complicated. Do you want to itemise every fuсking peanut you own or do you want a simplified version??

  • If I have to pay more I will take itemizing. If he actually made the plans cheaper simplified is fine

  • He did For every group. Do the calculations yourself and stop taking Washington Post and HuffPo at face value. Name a single category which pays more under Trump and not Clinton, who raises taxes everywhere. Income Marital status Children

  • That's true until you start figuring itemized deductions. There is also another tax we are going to get. With such a drop in tax rate the deficit is going to run. That's going to put pressure on the door and when you factor in the increase in GDP that is going to put pressure on commodities. Guess what happens to the price of absolutely everything in that scenario and we have not even gotten into the tariffs yet

  •
That's true until you start figuring itemized deductions.
False, those are already factored in
There is also another tax we are going to get.
What tax? Never heard of it and I was just on his site looking at the tax plan - nothing mentioned or hinted at
With such a drop in tax rate the deficit is going to run.
Assumption. Cutting entitlement spending by 30% and government operations by 20% would completely negate any negatives. Also note that the studies assume that Trump will stop trading with major parts of the world like China altogether and they factored in a tariff war which is an assumption by itself And the owners were all Clinton supporters before they did the analysis :)
That's going to put pressure on the door and when you factor in the increase in GDP that is going to put pressure on commodities. Guess what happens to the price of absolutely everything in that scenario and we have not even gotten into the tariffs yet
1.) Assuming tariffs and assuming American made is much more expensive and not that overseas corporations have unnatural profit margins 2.) An increase in GDP does nothing. Consumer Price Index is what you want to look at. GDP tells nothing but production per capita.

  • And you really think with American production and American wages brought back into the picture you're not going to have a pop in the CPI? Like how is that even possible. The Big Hope appears to be that the drop in tax rate will offset some of this. Best case if we start producing DVD players and a bunch of other junk here you're going to have a lot of minimum wage jobs.

  •
And you really think with American production and American wages brought back into the picture you're not going to have a pop in the CPI? Like how is that even possible.
By a reduction in exorbitant profit margins. I already said this which shows you either didn't understand or didn't read. Sounds like you're now fighting for outsourcing American labour so items are a bit cheaper lol
The Big Hope appears to be that the drop in tax rate will offset some of this. Best case if we start producing DVD players and a bunch of other junk here you're going to have a lot of minimum wage jobs.
False. We have minimum wage being as stagnant as it is because illegal immigration destroys the opportunity for American workers to demand higher wages AND you still haven't though about reducing profit margins which businesses WILL wish to do in order to keep their largest import market: the US. Hell, they might not even suffer a profit loss with a reduction in corporate tax rate, repealing of the double tax system which Hillary supported and the fact that international businesses and countries will be forced to play fair through threat of market loss And maybe China will stop manipulating their currency against the Geneva Conventions as economic warfare and we'll have that market open up. Have you learned nothing from the Gracchian era?

  • By educated I assume you mean the person went to college. At college you are most likely indoctrinated into a leftist way of thinking and part of that indoctrination is thinking that if you didn't go to college you're unintelligent. You have been brain washed by people that dictate a certain way of thinking. Not many people went to college prior to 80s and definitely not in the 50s. By that logic everyone was a complete idiot until the last 40 yrs or so. You're very gullible.

  • It's not that they're taught a certain way of thinking it's that they are taught how to think and become a lot more tolerant of multiculturalism. A lot of old people and especially ignorant old people want everything to be exactly how they remember it when they were young. If you look really close at some of the reasoning behind Trump votes you find this theme pretty strongly. The thing I'm actually wondering about is how this job creation thing is going to go. You see there's no way to bring jobs back. That's a fantasy. The reason why is wage. If we bring back a job that makes a product that we now pay $20 for that is made in China in order to make the same products for $20 we are going to have to lower wages. That means a lower standard of living here. If we slapped tariffs on goods made overseas that means the price of those goods is going to be higher which again means we get to buy less for our dollar. That's all the critical thinking required to make you seriously question the Trump plan which will rely on unrealistic tax cuts to try to get them off the ground. Now ask yourself what's going to happen when the tax rate comes up which it definitely will have to in the long run. If it does not and we adjust the budget down to live with those lower taxes it means an enormous amount of government programs will have to be cut which again means a lower standard of living. If you want the jobs that we shipped overseas it means you have to compete with that Chinese worker
