My main atm is Lucio, but the team I play with already has a really good Mercy main, so I was wondering who out of these heroes should I main?
Certain heroes were left out because of personal preference
Even though I don't like it when people say main, I think that Reinhardt is overall really, really good and is almost never useless to a team. I tell people that they should at least know how to play 1 or 2 heroes in each category as it is really useful. Knowing one or two characters very well is good, I know Lucio very well (main him I guess) and I also know reaper and Reinhardt pretty well. But I can play 1 or 2 people in every category.

D.va is a good choice and who I usually play, she deals pretty decent damage at mid-range (even if she's most effective right up in someone's face in terms of damage output) and the boosters make it pretty easy to get around or even get to places you wouldn't expect a tank to be so you can get around and flank or otherwise get the drop on somebody and the shield helps a lot with her tanking and is especially useful for negating several of the other characters' Ultimates, like Soldier's for instance. And D.va's own ultimate is a great team clearer for anything related to the objective, if you don't outright kill more than a few of the enemy team, then her self-destructing MEKA will force them to break formation and give up their positions to stay alive. And the nice thing about the Ultimate is that you can call a new MEKA in straightaway as soon as the old one actually explodes and doesn't require building up the Ultimate gauge again to get it back. And as an added little benefit, if you're brought down to zero HP while you're in the MEKA it doesn't actually kill you but leaves D.va alive and out on foot until she can charge her ultimate to call in a new mech. Her pistol is pretty good at dealing damage and has a much further range than the canons on her MEKA, but be careful though as D.va herself is really squishy and can be killed pretty easily when she's on-foot.

1 ReplyDon't main any. Have preferences sure but if you are in matchmaking and your preference is already picked, be competent with other options. Be able to look at composition and balance your team. If it looks like you need a tank, be able to play one. If everyone picked tanks and healers, pick a dps character. Also don't be afraid to switch during a match if one isn't working well. Learn to counter the other teams build. I do find myself picking some of the same characters over and over again but I can say that my top 3 have similar amounts of playtime with a fourth not far behind. There are a few I never pick but get practice with in All Brawls and Mystery Heroes playlists.

13 RepliesLucio? Id say go with someone who best benefits from being mobile but still around him, try solider 76, hes quite the damage dealer now, and his healing is really good now Since you like lucio, youd probably like zarya too, an secondary tank designed to put out serious damage and prevent mitakes on your team, I'd also recomend trying ana out if you wanna help mercy heal faster
-
2 RepliesZarya. She's just too strong.
-
2 Replies1. Don't main 2. Try becoming versatile.
-
A 2 supp team is pretty good most the time. But try not to main and just be versatile instead.
I say as I currently have 90+ hours in mercy with a "Close" second being Reinhardt with like 5
Edited by Barrierr-: 11/22/2016 5:48:39 PMD.va because she does wonders for support heroes getting their Ults & she can do massive damage with a Mercy attached to her. Mercy main here

1 ReplyThis annoys me, you should be able to adapt and use any character and be good with them. Everyone wants to main and that's the biggest problem with this game.

1 ReplyWhich one are you best at? Which one do you know you want to play the most?
-
Zarya too OP

Your team could use a fourth hanzo
-
You could still be Lucio. Current meta is two healers(normally Ana and Lucio,) and either two tanks(one being Reinhardt) and an off tank(Mei/Roadhog) or two tanks and two dps players(normally gengi/tracer and McCree.)

Mei. Nothing stops a team like a good Mei.
-
Use Hanzo always need that 6th hanzo
-
Play them all.
-
Depend on your team main. But you shouldn't main a character at all anyway. If blizzard change the meta, you won't be ready for it.
-
Your team could always use another hanzo
-
Hanzo, your team always needs a third hanzo
