[u]Fair warning: there may be spoilers[/u] By now I'm sure you've met the splicers. The big red angry guys. Well let me tell you a bit about them, so you can have a better understanding of your new foe. The splicers are a subsection of each fallen house that are the more scientific side of the fallen. They tear into, examine, and understand tech that they find, wherever they find it. They look into these things and determine its worth. (If it can be used as a weapon, tool, or form of biological upgrade) This leads us to the Devil splicers. The devil splicers themselves (while digging at Rasputin) uncovered the ancient golden age wonder, SIVA. They figured out a bit about what SIVA could do and used it manipulate themselves and weapons. In this process they figured they no longer needed gods, but they remade the prime, Sepkis prime as a show of their power to the house of devils to convince them to join. They also sent this offer of SIVA to all the other houses and it would seem (based on the sighting of king and winter banners around the Plauglands) the house of kings and winter may have dipped their hands into it.[spoiler]Augmentations didn’t stop at the resurrection of dead gods.An archon pretty much rebuilt himself in SIVA form. (Aksis, Archon prime). On that note the splicers may to have a sort of ascension system implied by Vosiks’s card. The splicers could have planned for the most powerful to ascend to “godhood”. [/spoiler] On a good note SIVA doesn't seem to corrupt the minds of it's host as the Devil splicers held on to their old fallen way. The Archon's forge is a place where the fallen gain honor and respect through combat. The greater the offering, the greater the enemies they must fight, and the greater the reward from winning. [/spoiler] To sum up, the splicers are the science guys of the fallen. The Devil splicers found SIVA which was a great tool to take a step closer to their dream of technological ascendance. They still hold true to old believes. (Meaning SIVA doesn't really corrupt).
