And for gods sake stop limiting the entire game because of PvP! Half a meter may be sniper range for a shotgun in a miniscule PvP map but in the open world of PvE where many enemies have a ohk aoe melee it's pathetic. You as a company are only limiting your own game and shooting yourselves in the foot. For every CoD kid and PvP player you gain you lose a lot more players who are fed up with they're hard earned gear being nerfed into the ground because of a mode they don't even play.

  • They should have separated PVE and PVP nerfs/buffs a long time ago. I would make the game so much better..

Balance PvE and PvP diffrent. Separate them from each other.

  • Sry but that is just bollocks. Shotguns don't need range in PvE at all. Just damage. Maybe they should just overall buff the PvE damage for Shotguns.

  • I don't want more range you spaz I just don't want the already short range nerfed further... So PvP can nerf and lessen everything game wide but if I suggest keeping PvP nerfs in PvP it's bollocks?! Only one side wants to screw the other here, I just want my gear left the fuk alone in a mode that does not need nor want PvP nerfs.

Why are you insulting? With more damage in PvE you won't lose any range because the pellets will do more damage. Stop being so stubborn. There IS a solution for both. If they could separate the nerfs for both that would be perfect though. I'm with you on this.

  • Why does PvE need more damage. Isn't the point of be game is to have a challenge. Why does shotguns need a buff in anything. And it doesn't solve anything trying to have an elite community because you don't want to play with people with low k/d. There are private matches to have fun in. As much as this community seems to bark loud about and seem quite happy to put down casuals , noobs, tryhards etc did you ever think that those same folks spent their hard earned money to get a decent experience without being made to feel like they don't matter and don't play the game unless you have a k/d over "said number". And I say this with all due respect but ultimately someone has to see Bungie can't cater to every single whim at the time frame and desire as everyone has. I agree your points have merit but also remember those whom don't have the acumen as the minority it doesn't mean they should be locked out as well. SBMM and Damage Referee can be compared to the NFL. You have upper crust and the bottom of the barrel. But on Sunday both have to meet each other. I am glad you posted well thought out improvements and in a respectful tone you reply to those whom comment for that I commend you.

Shotguns don't need more damage in PvE...it was just a suggestion because another guy said that those nerfs will negatively affect PvE. And sorry, in which game are the low tier players protected and padded with an extreme SBMM setting like in Destiny? Or where are laggers and cheaters protected that much with a damage referee that caters to those individuals? Back in the days I played the first CoD's and Counterstrike and in the beginning I got my ass handed to me because I wasn't good enough. Was that a problem? Of course not. "Get good or die trying". I never played a game where this was a thing. Should this really be the case? I've never said that I don't want to play with low tier people. I want to play with everyone. In Y1 I sometimes played with lows against better ones and we managed to win, sometimes I pubstomped lows and sometimes I got stomped by myself. It wasn't a sweatfest all the time and it also wasn't a walk in the park all the time. I also was a low tier player and I managed to get better without the protection of SBMM. With SBMM, no one gets better because you have way less diversity in your matches and you won't even feel if you played better or not.

Because you said I said something I didn't. I mean everything... not just shotguns... There is no need to nerf something perfectly fine in PvE because of PvP. That is my only point I'm trying to make here. I don't understand why that simple idea is so hated by the PvP community, you can still have all the nerfs you want just in the crucible only but from the reactions and responses I might aswell tell people I fuked their grandmother's corpse.

  • The thing is that they seem to be unable to separate both. And let's be honest: Nerfs in PvE don't have a huge impact because PvE is easy enough to adapt without any problems. No Gjallarhorn in Y2? No problem. No elemental primaries in y2 or 3? No problem. Etc.

  • Why not? The system for two codes is already in place. Light level is turned on in iron banner and trial but switched off for normal crucible, piggy back a nerf on that code that only affects PvP. Now obviously I'm no game coder or designer so that idea above could be (and probably is) the dumbest thing I could possibly say but it seems Bungie isn't even trying to look for a solution to appease PvE and PvP players. As to the PvE being easy argument that has nothing to with anything let alone justifying PvP limiting it. I don't want to change PvP because of my PvE mentality so why should PvP change PvE because of their needs? I know each mode has its own hardcore supporters and PvP content is easier and cheaper to create, update and maintain but I bought and enjoy Destiny for the first person co op pve loot game it was advertised as and ever since the Suros an Mytho game wide nerfs just because of PvP Destiny in my view killed its true potential. The devs are paranoid of making fun perks and gear that would be awesome and fun in PvE but because the "too op" in PvP no-one gets anything. Its just a shame is all. Agree or disagree I do enjoy discussing this so thanks for reading and sorry I insulted you, I overreact and make mistakes like everyone else.

  • No problem, mate. I know what you're saying and I'm totally for a PvE/PvP separation. For me it would be even okay if there is a PvP gear and weapon setup that cannot be used in PvE and vice versa.
