The Power of your Dollar! (Micro-transactions in Destiny)

I will say in advance this may be a longer post so read at your own peril. I made this video to originally show how effective your dollar can be in regards to what your bang for your buck can be. Please to don't interpret this as me complaining. Simply put I want to try and analyze and determine what the future of Micro-transactions has in store, and whether or not they are healthy or the game. First, I don't believe we will ever see MT's taken out of games. I don't want them to either. I do like knowing that I can purchase extra content that gives my character a slight unique feel. Whether or not it comes from shaders, skins, weapons, etc.. As long as it doesn't break the game I enjoy it. Now the specific events that are done for charity (Nepal, Gauntlet 2015, 16) Those are great. It allows us in the community to give back and help people out there in the small way we can. I like knowing that these events take place. I would never complain about the proceeds for a shader, mask, sparrow, etc going to some sort of foundation or charity. However with the most recent Festival of the Lost ending it is important to note that there are some major red flags in my opinion. When the game developer comes out with content that you have to pay for, you should receive the content without having to play some lottery with the RnG gods. Last festival was not so bad. You had a chance to really grind the game and receive those masks. With SRL it was a little worse. You had to BUY the record book in order to receive some gear, and to keep track of your stats. Not to mention the fact that you had to have the luck to unlock the sparrow that wasn't a guaranteed drop. This is where (in my opinion) it starts to look like a cash grab. The actual content is not very in depth. So why make some gear a lottery essentially? What you're telling the community is that we want as much money as you can spare. We don't care if it costs you $20 or $40. That is not respecting the community, and this is not really benefiting the overall community. This is only a viable option for the streamers who can pump money into the game because this is their business. I think this most recent Festival is a reason to take note of. The power of your dollar fades drastically with these MT's. The average person can spend more trying to unlock the content from these events then they ever did for the original the game. Your dollar is not very powerful. In the end it is up to us in the community to speak up and express a distaste for this model moving forward. Nothing with change if everyone just sits back and whines. Let's put some solutions out there to see if we can fix this issue. Again please don't take this the wrong way. I'm simply trying to highlight how valuable our dollar can be, and how we as a community can ask for better then what we are starting to get with Micro-transactions. Hope everyone has a good evening and let's get some ideas in here. Props for those who read through this entirely.
