To everyone in this thread; so harrassing an 11 year old brain cancer survivor is completely warranted? This kid has already gone through pain that you, me and everyone else probably will never experience, and it all at age 11. To then come back, surviving one of the most dangerous and difficult-to-treat diseases, and get completely shat on for it, is ok to you? Anyone who thinks bullying is good for growing thicker skin, is a despicable human being. This kid is stronger than any of you.

  • What does that have to do with any of this? You're just looking for excuses to throw shit at everyone who leans any way but right.

  • No ones saying bullying is right, we're saying it's a part of life everyone has to go through and there's no changing that. I'm sorry but no matter how many laws are passed or whatever, bullying will ALWAYS happen. It's just a fact. So it's best to look at it as a way to better yourself. As a way toughen yourself up

  •

bullying will ALWAYS happen
Especially with so many people like you parroting this idea.
You can't change society. All these "PC movies" like Ghostbusters prove that. Hollywood has been trying sjw entertainment for the past decade now and everyone hates it. Why because they're trying to change society and people hate change. The only form of left wing entertainment that's good is satire. The best way to deal with bullying is to raise awareness about it and constantly remind those who would otherwise be vulnerable to not let it get to them and report to teachers so the bully can be dealt with accordingly. There really is no blanket solution to this without infringing free speech and reforming entertainment as we know it which will never happen as long as the masses vote with their wallets.

  • Society is in a constant state of rapid change. Maybe the only part you can't change is the change. People can change if they get educated. The vast majority of people these days will tell you slavery is wrong, and black people and women have as much right to a vote as a land owning white man. So society can't change?

It's the reason why the kkk still exists today. Granted they're hated by society with good reason but in order to shut them down we would have to get rid of the first ammendment to do so. Now do you see why there's no easy solution to bullying and harsh words? In this particular case that the op brings up you could argue that the kids who bullied her shoud be charged with homicide and there's a pretty strong argument for that. However general everyday bullying usually doesn't get this bad and doesn't warrant jail time or the destruction of that person's life just because they said mean things. We're trying to get people off of welfare not add to it and that's exactly what this would do.

  • Go read the first amendment. It clearly states that freedom of speech is not fully protected within schools. Schools have the right to punish students for many forms of speech and expression if it's not deemed conducive a safe and learning oriented environment.

It's called detentions and ISS. Unless the victim like this one commits suicide and it's clear that someone bullied them into doing like this case here, then it doesn't need to be a big deal. But when it happens then we deal with it accordingly. Are we seriously gonna start jailing Jack for calling Sally a slut? Really? That merits a felony and getting ass -blam!- in prison? While murderers and rapists still get away with crime because you sjws are too focused on piece of shit Jack here!

Suspend a kid for his first offense. Second time expel them. Let the bully's parents pay for private schooling. I'll bet parents will start having the "don't bully talk" with their kids when faced with having to pay a private school tuition.

I'll bet parents will start having the "don't bully talk" with their kids when faced with having to pay a private school tuition.
But then what if the parents can't afford it? The kid becomes even further uneducated? Aren't we trying to make more people educated? That will just perpetuate his bad behavior. Maybe the school should work with the bully to figure out why he's a douche and tackle those issues instead of letting them fester and make the situation worse. We all know the penile system doesn't work in regular prison. Why are we applying this logic in our schools? Sold weed once? No future for you! Told a kid to go -blam!- himself once? No future for you! Do you see how problematic that is? You're just breeding more 'criminals' is all you're doing. All while real criminals are still walking free.

Well then the kid and parents better hope a school from a near by district will take him in. Or perhaps he can repay his debt to society and regain re-admittance to his previous school through community service or the like in a year or two. Perhaps he'll come back a bit wiser. This is all speculation, there could be, and probably are better ideas out there, but to take the stance "Let's not doing anything more about this because it's a difficult problem without easy answers" is not the right thing to do.

It's a slippery slope and will only lead to abuse by liberals in power who want to enact potentially devastating legislation that could have been blocked but was unable to because the opposing opinion is racist somehow when really odds are it's just about preservation of our economy and way of life.

  • No further amendments or changes to the first amendment are really necessary. Schools already have the right to discipline students whose speech and expression is not conducive to safety and learning. In fact the amendment states the school has as much of an obligation to educate students on how to behave civilly as they have to educate students on reading and math. I feel like we can go back and forth for years. In this forum doing so wouldn't benefit either of us, the little girl or the system so I feel like cutting this short here. Have a good one dude.
